Got Friday on my mind! (-less chatter)

Morning all, it's chilly in NW Ark.  We hit the freezing mark this morning.  It was 28 at 6 a.m.. 

This cold keeps hanging on this week but I am at work like a trooper..  I am having trouble getting motivated for anything.  Even skipped my Zumba class this week.

Last night I harvested the last of my tomatoes, peppers and herbs.  Will freeze the peppers for winter soups.  Trying something new with the basil, packed one canning jar with purple basil and one with lemon basil.  Filled them with EVOO.  Will let them sit for a day or 2 room temp then put in the fridge.  A friend gave me this idea so I hope it works.  He said it only takes a small amount of oil for the flavor and the flavor will last longer than if dried or frozen.   I also brought in a pot of lettuce, a pot with parsley and one with sage.  Never had much luck with my herbs indoors but gonna try again.

As for me, I'm here in MI with BF. Soooooo nice! Filling my bed at home with tons and tons of pillows just really isn't the same!

I made some pumpkin muffins last night and they were tasty but needed more pumpkin flavor.

Jackie I forgot to mention...I love pumpkin bread...mmmm...yummy!  I make pumpkin and sweet potatoe bread with the same recipe.  If you would like it to compare to yours I will post it in Around the campfire.

Why did it wait until I was deep into my garlic bed and right in the middle of planting to decide to drizzle icey rain?  It couldn't have done that BEFORE I got in the middle of stuff so I wouldn't have started???

One of my coworkers and her family left this morning for Disneyland. Is it strange that I'm super envious?

There's a Republican Committee office right next door to my office building and this week there's been a flurry of activity. Although I've never been very involved in politics, I kind of admire the young people who are so passionate about it.

DH's cold is getting better but he still has coughing fits that wake us both up during the night. I could barely drag myself out of bed this morning and I'm soooooo glad it's Friday!!

It figures that I planned on going home for lunch today that the guys are all on the roof, so now I don't have food.

And, I just tore the side of my pinky finger open on the cutting edge of my desktop tape dispenser.  Never done that before - and man it hurts!

I'm apparently no longer able to speak. The last two messages I tried to leave for people on their voicemails were barely intelligible and I almost gave out my cell phone number instead of my work number, that's the LAST thing I want to do! It's definitely Friday...

Beautiful, beautiful weather today.  I can't wait for the weekend so we can get out and enjoy it.

Gabby is being a little grabber today and Twister gave her what for when she grabbed his little tail.  He was not amused.

Ginger, my recipe came out of the Parade insert in the newspaper.  The muffin batter was so thick, I thought I had made a mistake but double checked and had it right. The consistency was more bread-like than muffins but good.  I'm going to go check out your recipes right now.  I'm sorry you've been sick and hope you feel better this weekend.

I think we're gearing up for another stormy weekend, though I really hope it doesn't rain Sunday night.  I hate to see Halloween spoiled for the little trick-or-treaters.

I went with a neighbor to the opening of our new Trader Joe's this a.m. and got a log of chevre (French goat cheese) w/honey.  Yum!!!  And who can leave TJ's without a bottle or two of Two Buck Chuck? I may come to regret having that sore so close.

DH kicked me & the kids out of the house this morning ...so he and his buddies could practice before their Halloween show tomorrow. (He plays bass in a 70s-80s punk cover band)

I got a TON of running around done! Including SS shopping. Willa helped pick out the gifts of course!

I've had a cold for a few days now - congestion, sore throat, sinus headache, bleh.
