Tuesday Mindless Chatter

Ugh, we're under tornado warnings and I need to get home to let the pupper out, but they're not letting anyone out of the basement...

    • Gold Top Dog

Hope you can get out to let that poor baby out, or maybe you can find someone who can go in and get him?

I went shopping this morning at Old Navy for some stuff for the person in my dog walking meetup who is having a baby. I bought two shirts, and a pair of navy blue pants (among other things, I was going for the clearance rack). Then I got home, and realized that I am not certain that the stripes on the shirts I bought are indeed Navy. They might be, but maybe they aren't. Now, they will match something, because I bought a pair of jean shorts to go with another shirt I bought (it has a turtle, so I had to  get it), but I have no idea now if I have anything to match those pants. My friend is coming over in a bit and we're going to get lunch, so I may just ask her to tell me what color they are. This is why I should never buy these sorts of things without someone to help me.

Jen, you can wear just about anything with navy blue pants.

It is pouring rain here with 35-50 mph wind gusts.  I don't think I've seen it come down like this in a long time.

    Liesje, stay safe!

I haven't looked outside lately... but it was not raining where I work a few minutes back. I have no windows, but I usually hear thunder... haven't yet. We are under a tornado watch.

Oh man do I need fall/winter tops/sweaters. My shopping demons have been hopping, they don't need to be. It has been hard for me dressing the past few weeks. I change my closet over (summer to winter) beginning of Oct, and it has been in the 70's, kind of hard to wear sweaters...I also need a basic but nice white blouse/shirt. I can't believe how hard that has been to find. I am not a big fan of ruffles which is all the rage this year.

Got word from my breeder, the pups have been introduced to "solid" food (ok it is still mush) and water. She is going to start decreasing momma's food to prepare for weaning. She sent me (fuzzy) cell phone pics of them eating big dog food.... my puppy is a PIG! LOL

If it is still raining when I get home this evening, I will go watch Quinn at agility class, if it is raining I can't get Belle or Teddi out.... So may as well.

Is that mindless enough chatter for you?

This is the wind we had yesterday, 51 mph at midnight with storms.  Lots of electric out in NW Arkansas this morning...but the clouds have lifted, the sun is shining and the wind is not as bad, just breezy now.  Keep safe if you are in the path, lots of trees were down across the area today.

I spent a year w/out having Gracie sleep with me and I missed it.... until she got a chance to sleep with me again regularly and MAN, she's a bed hog!!!  She typically goes to bed before I do, so by the time I get there, I have to arrange myself around her unless I force her to get up and move.  Even when I do, once I'm down, she plops down so she's tucked in tight next to me.  Then pushes and stretches and pushes some more all throughout the night.  Rarely do I get some distance from her.

PS, where the heck did October go?  We've got less than a week, then it's November, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's... WTH?!?!

Thinking of Tina today... that whole day where the routine is changed.. [:/]

Ginger, here's a quick and easy chicken soup recipe for you.  Did this last week when DS had a bum tummy......pour chicken broth in a sauce pan, slice up a few baby carrots and let those cook in the broth.  Add a small handful of linuine noodles...broken up to look like the noodles in chicken noodle soup, and when those are cooked, dump in a can of chicken.  Oh, then sprinkle with parsley to make it look like you spent a long time on it.

Went into the old office to do a few things for the former boss.

Had to stay, when I got here it was a hard wind blowin 80 degree's, within the hour we were under a tornado warning here in town.

Now it's cold, and wet and raining and damp...and I am in heaven! Making a turkey breast for dinner and it is perfect for the weather.

    Ok, heading home now.

it's 12:40pm and I am still in Texas...not in New Orleans. That.

    Blows.

I want some Jambalaya for lunch.

I feel better now.....the reason I have no energy is cuz I've got a little bug.  Phew.  There is a REASON for feeling like someone unplugged me.....

NOLA really is awesome, isn't it??  You know, Zatarains has fully made entrees now in the frozen food section, so you don't have to be at home to cook up some jambalaya... http://www.zatarains.com/Products/Frozen-Entrees/Jambalaya-Flavored-with-Sausage.aspx

Ooooh, a Jambalaya Breakfast Casserole recipe: http://www.zatarains.com/Recipes/Breakfast-Brunch/Jambalaya-Breakfast-Casserole.aspx

yeah I know. We have a ton of Zat stuff here...but it's not the same as eating it outside...while the city does it's thing, ya know? I may actually become depressed and begin to PINE, in the next coming days...

MMMM kay soooo you will be right over to fix it for me???  OOOO I just read your other post you have a bug too so you better stay home and I will just have to fix my own soup.  That sounds pretty easy and since hubby will be gone tonight I may just do that. Thanks

This is where everyone needs a Sadie. I swear, she is the ultimate sleeper dog. She dives down under the covers to the end of the bed and curls up in a ball or lengthwise along your legs and sleeps forever. She is also ridiculously warm. I have no idea how a dog can be that warm - she is way warmer than Timmy! The best part is, if you need to move her, you just shove her with your legs and she goes where you've shoved her without even waking up.
