Tuesday Mindless Chatter

    Tuesday Mindless Chatter

I ordered a new coffee maker (a Melita which is not electric) but it hasn't come yet. I haven't had coffee in two days and my head is starting to pound. I think I will actually get dressed and go get coffee from somewhere. I don't have time for nasty caffeine withdrawal (migraines, grumpiness, inability to concentrate...).  I'm such a slave to my addiction, meh!

Ari really needs to STOP sleeping by my upper body. When she dreams, she kicks and runs and her feet are ALWAYS facing me. I got a couple hind kicks to the ribs and a few front kicks to the face. Normally, she sleeps at the foot of the bed, but lately she's been migrating north.

Wishing everyone a good Tuesday. Soon it'll be Wednesday, then Thursday and at some point the weekend will roll around again! Stick out tongue

Today is day 6 of working 6 in a row.  I will have two days off !!!

Weather is really strange.  Went to bed last night during a thunderstorm.  Temp was 59...going to be a low of 50.  Today is going to rain all day with a high of 50.   Very odd.

Hope everyone has a good day !

I love dogs, but never allow them on my bed.  I need my sleep, darnit!

Strange weather here, too. Warm again today, windy, more rain, then a 15-20 degree drop coming on Thursday.  Had to know the weather would be crappy soon enough - it always rains or snows on Halloween.

I am at peace today with my decision to let Moose go.  I have so many funny stories about him that he will live on forever.

My co-worker and his g/f adopted a kitten yesterday.  They already have a dog, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever who is about 6 or 7 years old.  Sounded like chaos yesterday - dog licked cat, cat ignored dog, dog barked incessantly at cat, cat still ignored dog, dog peed on the humans' bed and on the floor.  Is it wrong that I snickered?

LMAO Tina. I'dve laughed and pointed at them...

Its pouring right now. That sucks.

Kali is filling up my memory card on my camera right now with pics of things like the floor and the tv...Joy.

I dropped my chariot off at the mechanic shop this morning.  I've been hearing this noise from under the front suspension area but wasn't too concerned since it's got almost 140,000 miles, I figured it was just creaky with old age.   Turns out the bushings for the sway bar are worn away.  When I made the app't to drop it off this morning I forgot I had a vet app't for Twister at 9:45am this morning.  Guess I'll borrow coworker's big ol truck.  I hope I can park the darn thing without taking out too many little vehicles.  Last time I drove it I backed into a silly pole that someone put behind it when I wasn't watching.   Luckily it was just a gentle bump and only left a little dimple in the bumper.  I'm so used to my Expedition and the ease of parking it that anything else feels like a school bus to me.

Tina, I needed those giggles.  I'm having a blast picturing your co-workers mayhem.

    I'm trying to stay positive.

I have so much crap to get done.  That is all.

totally agree - I cannot imagine having B on the bed, so glad he never showed an interest.

drizzling and warm today - yuck!  Massive storms last night - we needed the rain and the whole month has been awesome so I won't complain about having to turn the AC on last night.

Bugsy 'found' a box turtle in the yard when we got home from our walk - we'd seen a couple out there too. I'm guessing the rain has brought them out.  And no worries he knows mama loves turtles so you just point at them and keep your eye on them!Big Smile

Lots of stuff to do - I'll be back later no doubt

Gawd I hate mornings.  It was so dark and gloomy here this morning that I couldn't get out of bed, and when I did, very late, the whole day was off to a not so great start. Finally done with dogs, finally done with noise...and if the little brats carry on today like they did yesterday, I'm gonna lock them in crates and run away from home.

My guys are still raving about the chicken picatta I did for last nights dinner.....really quick and easy meal, but something decidedly different to do with chicken.  Now I've gotta figure out what to do for tonite......going to be 72 today so sure don't want any cool weather food tonight...... as much as I love to cook, I really dislike having to come up with ideas for dinner every blasted night........

Hope everyone has a great day......I may hide from the world today....just in that kind of mood!

    Back to reality. Bah!

I want to go back to NOLA now, please. Thankyou.

I guess I won't be making the 9:45am app't for Twister.  Coworker forgot I needed to borrow his truck and took off on what was to be a short errand but then decided to check a job on the other side of town. Gosh, how rude of him to want to use his truck. lol  I hate going late in the day to this vet's office.  The afternoon appt's take forever for some reason.

It was over 90 here yesterday.  I can't wait for weather cool enough to open the windows.

Glenda, deciding what to fix for dinner is one of my least favorite tasks.  Many years ago, I used to make a weekly menu and that worked well.  I don't know why I got out of the habit but I might revisit that idea.  I suggest you have sandwiches for dinner tonight.  If the menfolk complain, let 'em cook dinner. :)

    Morning all

Been a little under the weather the last few days...October is usually when I will get a cold.  Very busy at work still and 2 people  were out yesterday so we were slammed.  I fully expected to come in today and find that I made some errors but so far....no calls indicating that I did. :)

Hubby has his sleep study tonight.  He had one almost 10 years ago, time for a re-do and see if he needs to make changes.  If I was feeling better I would rearrange the furniture tonight, lol, but most likely I will go to bed early.

Gina glad you had a good time in NOLA.  Its been a very long time since we were there.  We went at New Years around 1990.  Had a good time but there was wayyyyyy tooooo many people for me.  I would love to go back sometime when there wasnt a big doins in town.

Had a great time over the weekend went to see our friend's farm, lol!  They were able to buy approx 300+ acres of land that used to be in their family prior to WWII.  Their family lost it during the depression and they have been able to get most of it back.  They are raising cattle but mostly have spent the last 4 years getting the fences back to good condition, getting the pastures back to good condition and building barns.  They have not built their home yet, and have not retired to the farm yet but are getting closer to that goal.  They had an old fashion barn dance and social, the place was awesome and I am looking forward to going back with the boys next time they will have a ball.

Gotta run, lots of work to do today.   Hugs to all!

ETA: Glenda will you come make me some homemade Chicken soup, I would appreciate it way more than those guys do!!!

I'm so used to my Expedition and the ease of parking it that anything else feels like a school bus to me.

Isn't the Expedition kind of big too? I was driving an MR2 for many years and then started driving DH's Explorer and that felt like a bus to me. It did feel safer tho and I liked sitting more than a few inches off the ground.

The duvet cover for my down comforter arrived yesterday. It's not a perfect color but it works and I was so happy to add the comforter back on to the bed. I think we were in the low 40s overnight.

Last night I mentioned to DH that I think Sassy is losing her hearing. He didn't believe me and said she always listens to him. Then he took a treat and went down the hall and called her. She never even turned her head and he called for her several times. He tried a few more tests and finally agreed that I was right. It's no big deal but it's helpful to know that she's not just ignoring us at times.
