I think it's Tuesday Mindless Chatter

Just checking in -- I'm going to start a post in Advocacy about my friend's dogs that need to be fostered.  She's encouraged that I've got you guys looking.  These dogs are all in NC near Drexel.  (She works at the University but it's like 90 minutes away from 'home';)

It continues to just be crazy busy at work so I barely have time to even check in til late in the evening but I want to get this post up.  See ya!

Morning all....glad you made it back Deb.

Callie, your friend is in our prayers...that poor woman!!

Places to go and things to do today, so off to do some of them!

    Good vibes to all......

Our cool mornings are gone for now.  Back to the upper 80's in the afternoons.  We could use a little rain but overall we're in good shape going into the winter months, rain wise.

I was using a cordless Dremel, 4.8 volt, that I paid about $20 for a few years ago.  It died on me and I got a corded one. A friend got it for me at a wholesale tool place.  I don't remember the brand name but it only cost $25.  Hope it lasts.  I'll never go back to cordless.  I can do all four dogs in no time.  Gabby's nails are ridiculously fast growing and her nails are always too long. :(  I've had to take it slow with her and the nail trimming because I don't want her to get a bad attitude.  I need to work on her every day but I forget.  I did use the clippers last night to remove some of her nails and dremelled too.  She's getting very relaxed about it.  At least now she doesn't try to bite the revolving drum if I give her a chew to keep her occupied.

I've got tons of stuff to do but first I need to send Deb a few dozen emails. lol

    Karen, get to work.

Cita, feel better or go the health center.  I do agree that the stress you've been under could be to blame.

    Karen, get to work.

Hey I did!  I finished the paper - well the draft and sent it on.  Hopefully its on target.  Now on to the next paper.............  Actually I used to love to write so its been fun.

Amanda I bet that was a busy dream LOL - Bugsy and Zig it just needs to happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clearly at the least I need to move up to the 7.2V dremel - Jackie I don't think I'd like the corded one and I don't think B would like having to lean up against a wall.  I do his nails, what seems like constantly with no improvement, no way I could get them show short on my own and don't need to so I keep them from clicking Big Smile

Callie I'll check out the Spiritual Circle

Darn its only 11 and I want LUNCH!

Courtney I think that your lack of energy is likely due to all the change in your life and being separated from your BF.  ((hugs))

Courtney, never hurts to get checked out. I have problems with anemia, which makes me tired and sluggish. Now, I am having issues with iron pills....meh! It could likely be all the stress. Stress takes a real physical toll!

Ari growled at the alarm clock this morning. It was hysterical and I completely agreed with her sentiment.

It looks nice outside. I wish I could just NOT work and take Ari out to the field for a romp for the rest of the day. I'm going to try to get out as soon as possible so I can take her to this big field where she can run to her hearts content and swim in the river (she doesn't care if it's on 50 degrees out! brrrrr). After that, she's definitely getting a bath tonight. She's rolled in some very choice stinky things last couple of days.

Is that "Hootie" as in Bridget Carlsen's Hootie?!  Wowsa!!  Lucky you!

Swamped with work here too but that seems to be the norm these days. I try not to let it get me stressed from the moment I get here, but it's hard.

I got an email from the volunteer coordinator at the equine rescue yesterday afternoon apologizing for not getting back to me earlier. She said I could come in any time though, so that made me feel better.

Well - I've had several interuptions since I started this and have totally forgotten everything I read before....I hope everyone has a great day. We're supposed to be in the 90s today and for the next few days. Strange but in a good way. :)

YES!!!!!! Me really excited!!!! Her grand daddy on her momma's side is nothing to sneeze at either. He was a field champion (not hunt test) in the US and in Canada. I think I will have to dabble in obedience with her for her daddy. Hootie is the only MACH OTCH MH QAA UDX Golden Retriever in the US or so I have been told.

Momma is titled in field, obedience, rally, agiilty, just not nearly as high a Hootie.

Cathy, glad the equine rescue got back to you and apologized for the miscommunication. It is frustrating to have time and offer and then you hear nothing.  Then people at the rescue complain they don't have enough volunteers.

I have the dremmel that was linked above. It works good. I need to find my replacement sander thingy though, it's all worn out!

You know, going to the pet store for 1 thing is like going to the grocery store when you're hungry. Silly me for thinking I would just go buy dog food and that's it.

I hit honeybaked ham over the lunch hour too and picked up smoked turkey, cheesy tators and pumpkin pie. It cost a fortune but that'll be good eatin for a while!

I wonder how all the blood tests turned out from yesterday......

You should be excited!  Seem like some nice dogs!!  Hooray!

I am so itchy, I swear someone put fiberglass in the washing machine or something.

PS, for all you grandmothers.  I read this and thought you might appreciate it:

"A mother becomes a true grandmother the day she stops noticing the terrible things her children do because she is so enchanted with the wonderful things her grandchildren do."

Tried to do the 3D ultrasound today, but the little stinker was facing down. So, have to try again in a few weeks, which was their next opening. Bad fetus.

Bad fetus!  We're you hoping to get face pictures, or to determine the sex?  I'm getting baby fever, bad, so I'm living through everyone else for the moment :)

    • Gold Top Dog

Face pics. We found out the sex at around 19 weeks :)  She didn't even attempt the 3D type ultrasound, since he was most decidedly faced downward. She tried to jiggle him into moving, but he responded by kicking the wand. Confused We did see his feet a lot and learned that he apparently has hair

That little stumble/catching myself with my hand apparently ticked off the right shoulder.  Moved just right today and the danged thing popped right out. ER Doc couldn't get it to stay back in so good drugs which aren't good enough and will see the ortho on Monday.....probably looking at surgery.  Dang it all to heck.  With Lortab the pain is still around a 16.......
