Wednesday, last day of summer chat

 Gina, mine is working ok. I'm on it right now.

Earlier today, Luke and I went Lowes for a bookshelf. I freaking reversed the top and bottom. I suppose I could leave it that way, but I am trying to fix it and can't get the dumb plastic thingies out of the holes to fix it.

Yeah, because there's hard proof.  Imagine if she HAD done it in class and how easily she could backtrack and blame 5th graders.  I'm glad the Principal is handling this with immediate action.

 

 

I'd actually be really wondering if someone ELSE...hacked the teachers email and sent it. Especially if it came out of the blue. Honestly, because I am highly suspicious, it was the first thing I wondered.

Of course if the teacher admits to it...well nevermind LOL.

According to the principal this morning, she admitted to sending them.

I had lunch with an ex.  He is a really sweet old guy, but I'm not sure what we had in common.  The entire time we were eating, I was asking myself, "Really?  Did you really think that he would ever work out?  Really?"

I am attempting to plan a camping trip alone.  I've never camped by myself, & I am, for some reason, really interested in trying.  Texas folks, has anyone camped at Lost Maples in Vanderpool?

I've never camped there but have visited a lot.  You should check out the Foxfire cabins, located right next door.  That's my kind of camping these days. lol

Update on Red Dog.  Her kidney function is so improved, they're taking her off the IV fluids and if she maintains the better numbers, she can go home tomorrow morning.  The Vet is running a test for Addisons and those results will be in tomorrow morning.

Thanks!  Since they accept pets, I am looking into the cabins.  (DH wasn't too happy about me camping alone, so I'm sure that he'll be happier if I am staying somewhere.)

When I arrived at the school this morning, I was met by 16 other angry fifth grade parents. The teacher sent out an email to all of the parents in the class, accusing them of not controlling their kids, & teaching their kids how to behave. The kids were all referred to as "monsters, jerks, punks, & a-holes" so apparently, my "monster" isn't the only kid with a problem. She recommended that some of the kids, who are not ADHD, be put on meds, & she even referred to one kid as a "retard." I was really pissed, but some of those parents were ready to burn the teacher at the stake.

  What a nut. It's probably good that this happened early in the school year. I wouldn't want someone like that warping my kid's brain for too long.

MUST take five......have been going all day and am starting to wear out.  DH has already been advised that the kitchen is not open yet.  I'd love to go OUT for dinner, but that would involve making myself look human and I simply don't have the energy for THAT.

I'm "this close" to having the kitchen completely done, but have been waiting allllll day for DS to put the microwave cart together so I can get that out of my way and actually finish.My hands really hurt or I'd just do it myself.  He's put a ton of stuff together....just not things at the top of MY list.  Sigh.  In the meantime, I did square away the garage and the bathroom.  One of them at least.  And, a few more things have found their way in from the RV...that's a good thing.

Still sending good vibes out to everyone.  Back to the grind!

I ended up w/red beans and rice for lunch.  Plus cheese puffs... diet cheese puffs.  Blech!  I am rewarding myself with Reese's pieces.  I'm already sick of them, though.

Speaking of facebook, can anyone answer this for me?  I was at Target earlier.  While in the checkout line I saw a 'facebook credits' card next to the i-tunes cards & other gift cards.  Anyone have any idea why someone would want to buy fb credits?

I'm glad the news on Red is good.  I'm so hoping that she tests negative for Addisons.  Although a friend of mine has a Saint that has Addisons & is thriving.

Amanda, all I can say is 'wow'.  That teacher is seriously troubled.  I'll be glad to share some of my meds with her.  I hope she hasn't been teaching to long.

I found out today that for some reason my insurance doesn't cover chiropractic.  Funny I thought it did.  It sure is shocking to hear this when the year is more than half over.  I am not pleased.

 Umm either I'm in a really good place, or I'm off my rocker - I've finally started setting up my days so that I "go into the office" and work instead of trying to get things done on the couch and I'm loving it!  I've gotten so much accomplished in the past two days it's crazy, and it actually feels good to be working in a focused manner.

Of course I'm taking a break right now and wondering if I should take the time to go get some junk food now or just wait to get it until I go shopping tomorrow - I don't think I could ever substitute cleaning for eating...

I am doing a test run of a turkey brine recipe that I am hoping to use for Thanksgiving this year.  The turkey breasts are in the oven, & they are starting to smell great.  I hope that they taste as well as they smell because I'm starving!
