    This forum rocks

.... is the understatement of the day!  Not just with all the support and suggestions and good vibes for Kenya, but just in general lately I've noticed that this forum is *different* from all the other dog forums I visit.  I think we are less clique-y; everyone looks out for each other and each others' animals.  There's a certain cohesiveness even though we don't always agree on breed or breeder or training methods.  I think overall the people have more respect for others and are more informed.  Sometimes I feel I know more about some of your dogs than my own nieces and nephews.

Ditto.  I'm like on a high right now.  This week started out sucky to say the least.  I was sick with flu, Kenya wandering lost, DH worried about finances, co-worker's father diagnosed with stage 3 cancer....then Kenya was found, I feel a lot better, DH got his first paycheck from his new job and it was more than I guessed for our budget, and my co-worker's father had surgery but it was not cancer after all.  Things could be a lot worse, but even when they are there's always this forum to "escape" to whether it's venting about life or avoiding it by looking at dogs!

I love this forum Drinks cheers!

I love the huge variety of breeds we have, people from different walks of life, areas, etc. Definitely the most welcoming forum I've ever been a part of. I think back to when I was trying to organize a "jailbreak" for a little dog in Texas, and how amazingly supportive everyone was, and so willing to help! It's still incredible to think about.

Liesje, I am so happy things are turning around :) Give Kenya a yummy treat on behalf of me and T-bone, please!

Here Here! (or is it Hear Hear? hmmm...)

Anyway, I totally get what you mean. And I'm so glad Kenya is home and safe. Even if I had to worry about her all day, I wouldn't give this forum up for anything. ;)

It is special here -- there are ups and downs as there are with *any* group of folks, but there's a willingness to support here.  To try to care ... to try to lift others up that is incredible.  People discovering that to have friends you have to BE one.  But it spreads SO easily.

And we learn from each other ... it was what drew me years ago when I started here -- yeah, I know a lot about *certain* things ... but about other things I am frankly clueless.

And Lies -- one of the BIG deals here is at the end of the day and at the end of the trial you truly pointed out something with the ID collar that EVERYONE can take away with them.  Again .. we all *learned*.  A lot of us walked away with great ideas to help other people with missing dogs.  And ... to prevent disaster with our own.

Yep *grin* ... this place ROCKS!!!

I agree completely! You guys are my family and you are all awesome :)

I second that, for sure! This prompted me to update T-Bone's microchip information (honestly I just forgot I'd changed phone numbers ;)

    • Gold Top Dog

Sure thing, I checked Kenya's as soon as she was gone and did update a few numbers.  Luckily the chips I use lets me login online and change any info without having to pay.

I also just sent a story + thank you to the supplier of the collar and ID plates I've been using.

I've always felt like I have had all of you for back up and support all these years.  And, I've felt like Willow really had friends who cared about her. It's much more than I could of hoped for in a forum.

Lies, we are so glad Kenya is home, thank God!

    • Gold Top Dog

It's so true! I cannot imaging joining another dog forum. There's really no reason to after joining this one! :D Love you all! *Group hug*

I so agree with everyone! There is something very special about this place. I'm apart of another dog forum and its so different. Here there is a sense of 'family' like almost everyone knows everyone by first name basis. And my other forum its just constant chatter with strangers (although entertaining, its not as personal). Its weird lol. But I love this place. And I'll say this again, Liesje I'm so happy you found Kenya, I can't even begin to imagine how hard that was not being able to find her. So happy things turn out well and I'm glad to hear things are getting better for you. Smile

    • Gold Top Dog

      Yes

    • Gold Top Dog

Yep, right on both counts Lies!

I've been part of this forum since either '02 or '03.  A lot of other forums have entered my universe during that time, but, this one feels like home, like family.

The last 4 years or so there has always beens something, some major issue going on in our lives and the people of this forum have been there so solidly, a real support system.  I'm honestly not sure what kind of emotional shape I'd be in right now without my idog family!

    So yeah, mega group hugs!!

    • Gold Top Dog

Agree! This is where I come when I'm needing some support and cheerfulness. You guys are all great!
