I picked it because it means "fragrant" and we all know that wonderful smell that hound coats have, and the frito feet stink they all seem to have, too. Also, it was the name of a famous half white, half Comanche chief who never surrendered to the whites. I liked it because this is clearly a dog that did not surrender to his misfortune (ending up in a high kill shelter in GA). He remained pleasant and sweet, just a happy boy unaware of the fate that could have awaited him had I not scrolled down two more lines... It'll take a couple of weeks before he arrives, but that just gives me plenty of time to haul a big ole crate up from the basement, and buy some goodies for a good boy.
In this shot, he looks a lot like Maska - I only hope that he likes it here as much as my doodlebug dog did.
