Wednesday Mindless Chattering

    • Gold Top Dog

    The daughter is 27.

I was like a deer in the headlights - I froze completely.  My DS wants me to get a switchblade or gun (nevermind I don't know how to properly shoot one).  He was yelling that I should have called him.  He left his car at home, so I said, "what, were you going to run all the way home to save me?"

I'm done with the passive attempts at getting my point across.  Let's hope I don't have to go further than harsh words, but I have looked at Michigan stalking laws already and am looking into who to speak to at the local cop shop.

That is sooooo not ok.  I wish your friend could come over this weekend to your house and just BE there in case this stalker shows up.  Let HIM answer the door and tell him to cook off.  Maybe put a sign up near the front of the house "No Trespassing" to start the defense against him when Amanda ends up having to shoot him.

Oh, in that case never mind, I wouldn't have bothered with civility.  Ugh...

Good.  Definitely take care of yourself.

I'm so excited!  I ordered a custom seat for my motorcycle :D  The original seat is ok, but after about an hour it is NOT comfy.  I was hoping it would be here by the end of next week (I was just gonna get a stock one so it would ship sooner) but it won't so I went ahead and picked out a custom one.  I'll get pics when in gets here, probably in 2+ weeks.  The reason I wanted it for next weekend is that I have about a 3 hour ride next week.....to OC for Bike Week!!!!!!! Yay!!!!! I am SO EXCITED!  FH and I wanted to go, but that's his weekend to have Hannah, so we weren't going.  Then I was talking to a friend who is going and she said I can ride down w/ the group she's going with and stay in her room, so now I'm going!!!  The ride is going to suck a little, b/c like I said, the seat isn't comfy after about an hour and its a 3 hour ride, but we'll have to stop for gas and stuff so I'll be fine.

I should have gotten a new seat awhile ago, but we were planning on getting me a new bike next year and didn't see the point in putting money into this one.  But now that FH's job situation isn't looking good, that probably won't happen.  So now, getting happy with the current one makes more sense.

Definitely file a police report to document this encounter.

ETA good vibes for Nikon's xrays.  Did you get your puppy yesterday or am I dreaming that I read that?

Thanks, not dreaming.  He was due yesterday, no word yet but the person I'm getting him "through" (I don't know the breeder myself) is competing in a regional trial this weekend so he's pretty busy/distracted.  I did have a dream that only one puppy was born and it was female :(

Tina, I agree with the masses, file a poilice report, or at the very least, contact them to find out what to do about this situation and please take care of yourself.

Cita, I am sure it is really hard being away from your BF, especially when you guys have lived together and been together for years.  I bet you are right though that once you start classes, you will be able to adjust a little better.  Getting into a routine will help and keeping your time occupied.  Plus, on top of that, you are in a new city where you don't really know anyone which makes it that much harder.

    Lies, good thoughts for Nikon.

Yesterday when I went to pick D up from school they told me she had a fever.  The rule there is if it gets to 99.4 under the arm she has to stay home for 24 hours.  Well, she has had really bad seasonal allergies and her head was really stopped up yesterday so I know she wasn't acting as wild as her normal self, but she didn't feel warm at all.  I asked them to take it again before I left and she had no fever whatsover.  I checked it all evening and this morning and still nothing.  I am glad I had them check it again and got it OK'd for her to come in today with the director because I hate keeping her home for that reason when it wasn't even really the case.  I can't afford to miss work when I don't have to.  The teacher gave me a little grief this morning but I explained the situation and talked to the director again and all was OK.  She was acting like her normal self this morning too.

It has been raining freaking elephants here this morning!  I got completely soaked from head to toe trying to get to work this morning.  The rain has let up for now but I bet it will rain on and off all day again!  Thakfully, although there was a lot of flooding, I didn't run into any water that was too high on the way in.

I ordered my new steam mop last night and can hardly wait for it to get here!

Tina, definitely file a police report and let them know that you sent that certified letter.

I'm slowly chipping away at all the clutter. I threw out a ton of "I should keep this, but I haven't touched it, looked at it, or even thought about it in the last 2 years" stuff lol. Most of it paperwork that is in no way important and I have no idea what my thought rationale was behind in keeping it.

I wish my work day would end so I could keep cleaning up my house! Speaking of work, I'd best skedaddle!

    • Gold Top Dog

Wow Tina - I felt sick to my stomach just imagining the situation yesterday. This guy has either completely misunderstood your feelings or he's a nutcase. Either way, I hope the letter does the trick.

Thinking good vibes for Nikon and the x-rays today.

So glad to read that Bevo's surgery went well too.

I thought I heard on the news that Texas was supposed to get a bunch more rain today and tomorrow. I hope all our Texas idoggers are safe and sound.

We had a serious change in the weather here too. It isn't raining yet but it sure looks like it will any minute. We'll only be in the low to mid-70s today. I'm not ready for winter to arrive but this is a really nice change.

Barbara - I know how you're feeling about Buddy. I'm going thru the same thing with Buffy. I get really excited about the stuff she can still do and enjoy and try not to focus on the negative changes.

    • Gold Top Dog

Tina - that is just scary, I hope you stay safe!

Sending out good vibes for Nikon’s rads and can’t wait for pics of the new puppy.

Sooo…I had the interview this morning for the animal rescue in PA.  Looks good and I need to be there next week to go over everything.  Still no word back from the Lab job, I’m starting to wonder if maybe I didn’t get the position, I should have an answer by now.  I played with the numbers a bit and I should be fine going with the lower paying job.  My rent will be so much cheaper once I move to Pitt.  Rent in Santa Fe was ridiculous.  Santa Fe has the highest min. wage in the county because it’s one of the most expensive places to live. Just thinking about it, even if I get paid less, my cost of living in PA will be much lower then if I stayed working with the labs in NM.  Things are still up in the air but it’s leaning closer to me going.  The countdown is now down to the hours before I have to make my final decision so anything could happen.  Fingers crossed that everything works out.

Deb, I'm swinging by & pick up Tina, then I'll be on the way! Snookered sounds very tempting....

    Good thoughts for Nikon!

Tina, that's absolutely unacceptable behavior. Please call the police.

Leslie, Courtney, hang in there. Things will get better!

It's still raining here, although not nearly as hard as yesterday. I'll just say "thank goodness for interactive toys."

Bevo's leg is hurting him. He's the dog who can hit a tree, bounce off, & not give it a second thought, so seeing him acknowledging pain, means that he's really hurting. He got a dose of tramadol this morning, & now he's sprawled out on the couch with his head in my lap.

Bring that baby to me....we don't mind fevers that aren't there. Wink. Just so you know Lily will typically run up to a 99.7 temp or so during a bad fit of allergies. It's just the body's reaction to fighting off the allergen. It's not like it's contagious...they should know that.

My house flooded overnight YAY! leaking ceiling too HOORAY! Don't y'all wish you lived here? WHEEE!!

Gina, you keep making that offer and I just might take you up on it one of these days!  I'm not that far from you at all and D would take great care in entertaining the dogs for you while she was there and you could totally put her to work unloading the dishwasher, scrubbing the floors, making the beds, you name it, she loves to help although I can't vouch for how thorough she is.  ha!

That sucks about your house!  Our garage was flooded this morning and when I was going to the car, carrying Devin so she wouldn't get all wet, I had no route that didn't include a huge puddle that I had to step in, and the one spot that didn't have a puddle was being blocked by my rose bush that the hubs keeps moving over and blocking the walkway with.  GRRR!  He heard it from me about that this morning.  I really hope you don't have too much or any damage to your house!  This rain is crazy today!

    • Gold Top Dog

Tina - call the cops or at least report it to them.  Did you keep a copy of the letter you sent him to prove you told him to leave you alone?  If not, could you recreate it?

    • Gold Top Dog

Texans, I can see your clouds comeing in from the east, keep pushing them this way because we don't mind taking them off your hands.  I hope the damage doesn't get worse!

    • Gold Top Dog

Whew...trying to play catch up since I've been so busy lately I'm totally behind on what's going on with everyone...

Tina, OMG...please, yes, do call the police.  There's nothing wrong with throwing politeness out the window when it comes to your personal safety.

Amanda, glad to hear Bevo is resting.  Sending easy recovery vibes to my favorite Doberboy.

Leslie, Courtney - (((hugs)))  It is easy to get a little depressed when you move somewhere you don't know anyone, but it will get better!!

Right now I'm in pre-vacation preparation whirlwind mode...so much to do at work to get ready to be gone for a week.  I feel like my head's gonna explode and I'm gonna miss something important.  It seems every time I cross something off my list, I have to add 2 more things I'd forgotten about.  EEP!  Well, I guess that means I'll just appreciate the time off even more, though, right?

I'm already stressing about my maid of honor speech.  It's good...I had a friend of mine who's a great speechwriter help me with it, and I think it's turned out really well.  It's sweet and funny at the same time.  I've been practicing it a bit, but I'm still really afraid I'm going to totally "cook" it up when it actually comes time to give the speech.  Serenity now!! Tongue Tied
