Geez, Amanda. People can be such idiots, sometimes.

Callie, let us know how you like the movie.

Glenda, get a wagon, and make the DOGS carry the laundry! LOL I want a big dog, so I can have it haul my stuff at dog shows. I keep teasing my friend that I'm going to steal one of her big boy Dobes, and use him for my cart dogBig Smile

Goose slept the entire night, snoring away :)  And today, she's pottied outside only, so far :)

Have to run and pick up a few things..puppy food (she is currently eating the food she was already on, but we're switching) and some puppy crate toys like Kongs. The toy dog Kong we have seems too small

    BEVOLASVEGAS
Bevo was attacked by a dog who looked a lot like Pirate.  Pirate is a lot cuter than this dog, but still...

LOL, Pirate is more of a 'scream and throw yourself on the ground' type fighter. Poor Bevo, and, poor little look-alike Pirate-dog for having such a stupid owner.

Hey Paige, if you really want to laugh, *I* wear a lifejacket on the boat. It's an inflatable though so I don't look like a giant dork.

I forgot to tell my Wendy story the other day. I was taking the dogs for our usual walk when we saw a little guy and his mom. His mom asked what kind of dog Wendy was, and the little dude looked like he was going to explode if he didn't get to pet Wendy, so I asked if he wanted to pet the dog. He approached JUST RIGHT, nice and slow, and I told him to wait until Wendy was sitting. Wendy was in 7th heaven and bouncing all over the place when his mom told him to hold out his hand to let her sniff first. He looks at me, and then back at his mom, and goes, "BUT SHE'S NOT SITTING MOM!!!". I think I died laughing. Wendy eventually pulled her brain out of her rear and downed right in front of him : ) Pirate hid behind his mama like a good boy.

Well, I drove Ryan up to Bennington VT today so he could pick up the police report and they handed him a ticket for failure to yield as well.  WTH??????

They estimated her rate of speed at 55 mph.  However, the last POSTED speed is 40 mph due to the trecherous curves.  Ryan is going to fight the ticket because he swears that she was NOT there when he started his turn.  Looking at the scene, I suspect that he started his turn, she came around a steep curve going way to fast about a quarter mile away.  Going 55 mph, it's entirely possible that she WASN'T there for him to see when he started the turn.  Ryan drives me nuts when he's a passenger.....constantly telling me I don't have enough room to turn, making comments about the speed limit....he isn't ever careless, and I've never seen him try to "beat" an oncoming vehicle.  She hit him in the right FRONT tire, and his truck was blocking both lanes of the two lane highway....no turn lane there.

However, the girl WAS seriously injured.  The officer said she had a possible lacerated spleen, broken ribs and a broken leg.  The spleen would require surgery I'm sure.

Why does a parent send a 20 year old girl out on a Suzuki SV650......that looks very much like a racing bike to me.  The DAD is the bike owner.  20 is pretty young for a bike like that and an inexperienced rider.  Poor kid though, I feel awful for her, and for her parents.

Glenda, the officer's supervisor might have had him issue the ticket based on how the report is written. That happened to me once -- I got a ticket in the MAIL! When it goes to court, the officer can decide whether or not to dismiss the ticket.

I've tried not to think this or say this because we have a lot of summer weather left.....

    BUT

Dear Lord another week of pushing 100* everyday, give us a break!  The only time you can go out and really do anything (dawn & dusk) you get eaten alive.  I am so tired of not being able to be as active outside as I like due to extreme heat or a zillion bites every 10 minutes

    argh

    rant over

Hope you all had a decent day

    • Gold Top Dog

Karen, I'm with you on the weather...I have had enough...and nuff said!!!

    • Gold Top Dog

I had sooo had enough, ya'll know what I did!!

I talked to Allstate and they said that they do NOT base liabilty on the police report or the lack or issuance of a ticket, that they will do their own investigation.  ALL they have to do is look at the road and the curve and the impact scene and they should see that based on HER speed, it wasn't Ryan's "fault".

Still, prayers for Patricia?  I feel horrible for that young gal.

Sorry about Bevo, Amanda.  Poor guy gets this a lot, doesn't he?

ooooh... I didn't realize she was coming from the opposite direction... I thought that she was behind him and clipped him, not that he turned in front of her.  Scary.  Definitely good thoughts for healing for her - no matter whose fault, a motorcycle accident anywhere from 40-55mph is seriously damaging.

I am apparently a sick puppy, because Food Network is STILL on (I've been outside, but I leave the TV on for G when she's inside alone)  The cookie challenge?  I really needed to watch that??  Geez.

Had a nice long chat with my uncle, who is a cross-country driver.  He was talking about why he doesn't have a pet with him on the road, told me some of the strange pets he's seen other truckers have.  Then he says that earlier today, someone on the CB somewhere in Wyoming was trying to rehome his monkey.  Bought him for $2800 6 mos ago, but is getting a divorce, yadda yadda.  Bizarre.

DH and I and Apollo went to my brothers little league travel playoff game tonight....they lost 2-1 , TOUGH loss. My brother was pitching and the winning run was scored on an error from the 3rd baseman. Sucks. Apollo did so well until he got mounted by an intact young male Lab- there was no fight, just some grumbling (basically Apollo telling the young Lab to get the f* off NOW, lol). The owner had little control over his Lab- he was getting dragged everywhere and the Lab was marking everything. Ugh. Then DH and I watched the guy and his Lab go over to a women with a toy sized dog and the toy size dog went nuts barking/snarling. What a good night....glad to be home.

SEEEE??? And people think I'm nuts for having a duck!

It was funny this morning....there were two couples chatting near the back of our RV when I went out to start laundry.  We started talking and the Yankee's fan (who now lives an hour north of Orlando) but lived here prior to retirement, told the other couple...."and THEY have a duck!!!"  He started telling the story of being outside the other day and "I hadn't had too much beer, and all of a sudden I heard a duck quack and turned around to look and sure enough there was a DUCK!!!  I decided I wasn't going to say a WORD!!"  They all got a good laugh out of that so they had to hear the whole story and that she is in fact a special needs duck.  What made HIS story so funny was that I had been out with Corky at the time and I saw this guy do the doubletake!

Mike's (the 14 year old golden) people had to hear about her too when I stopped to meet Mike.  Also got to meet the owners boxer pup...she's a young "not pup" but she still has all that wonderful pup exuberance!  And she gives absolutely LOVELY kisses!

And now that the worst of the weekenders are gone, this again is really a quiet campground with very friendly people.

Jennie, I can't believe I didn't say this earlier... I'm sorry that the pup you have been hoping for didn't come your way this time.  Someone told me at a show recently that if you ask your dog who has passed on to send you the right dog for you, tell them exactly what you want, and you might get lucky and have exactly that pup come into your life.  (She asked for nice feet in her next Rott and she got exactly that, plus all her other "requests" she whispered into her heart dog's ear before he passed.)  Can't hurt to ask her through a little prayer or something, though, right?  I bet she knows you better than anyone, and would know what would be best in a pup for you.  I hope she does send you the pup you're hoping for at the right time.  (hugs)

Sorry about Bevo, Amanda.  Poor guy gets this a lot, doesn't he?

Yeah.  For a big guy, he gets bullied a lot.  He's our peacekeeper, & he usually just lets the dog chew on him.  He's a weiner, but I love him.

I made gumbo for dinner, & it was WAY too hot, even for my tastebuds.
