Owie, Dawn!
It is 58 degrees here this morning and I am sooooo loving it. Supposed to go up to 84 today, but shoot, that's nothing. Especially when you have delightfully cool nights to look forward to, and waking up to such heavenly temps.
I actually had to turn my fridge DOWN! Has been such a fight to keep things in the fridge cold and now all of a sudden, I'm getting coffee creamer slushy!! Wahoooo! Cooler temps are such a gift!
I know ya'll think I'm nuts, but after the past year of miserable heat and humidity it feels soooo good to not run AC, to not be soaked with sweat everytime I do anything, to be able to sit outside without leaving a puddle........And yep, I might just complain about the snow and cold, but dealing with that is going to be so much better for me than suffering in the heat.
DS had an accident yesterday. Poor guy just wanted to go out and explore a bit. He ended up in VT, 20 miles up the road, and was turning into a farm stand hoping for apricots when a motorcycle came out of no where and rammed into his tire and then tore his bumper almost off. Witnesses said that she was driving like a bat out of hades, going wayyyy too fast for that road. She also had no DL or registration, insurance, etc with her. He didn't get a ticket so am guessing she was found at fault?? They loaded her into an ambulance, but DS said she was consious and doing a lot of screaming. The woman behind him in the lane was an EMT nurse so she gave first responder aid. The gal went over the handlebars of the bike and landed in front of his truck, so he was shook, big time, and touching her shoulder asking her if she was ok, could she speak.....when the nurse came charging in and took over. While Ryan knows not to move an injured person, I think everyones first instinct to to make them more comfortable, and he was shook, BAD.
The officers made him sit at the scene for a good 45 minutes after the ambulance left since he looked so ghastly and the nurse stayed with him and monitored him. That was really thoughtful of her.
The rim on his truck is ruined.....the steering is way off, so at the very least he needs an alignment and to have the ball joints, etc, checked, and the bumper is really hanging. Since HE was making a left hand turn, it must have been really clear that the gal on the bike was at fault or they would have ticketed him right then and there. Poor guy won't be doing any exploring for awhile at least. He was really shook. And very worried about the gal who hit him, and we had NO way of finding out if she was ok. Sigh. Oh, and he said that her "crotch rocket" is completely totalled. Pieces of IT ended up under his truck, over his truck and all sorts of places.
Last night walking the dogs was a nightmare. There were drunks roaming around. the usual loose dogs, and of course the dogs tied to a tree in one of the tent sites. Oh, and someone was shooting off fireworks. That tied to a tree lab is going to have a major sore throat. That dog has NOT quit barking since they checked in on Friday night. I'm really surprised that the campground people didnt' do something about that. They have a rather extensive list of rules........oh well. The weekend is pretty much over and all these weekend fools will go home. The tenters actually seem to be the worst.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
