    Sunday, Sunday........Chat.

    Good morning!

Another great morning here. It's cool and quiet, and best of all I have no plans to do anything.

I have to share that I now sport a large, GSD paw sized bruise on the top inside of my left foot. This would be the result of 70 odd pounds of dog doing his special "throw the ball" bouncing dance in front of my chair last night, and coming down right on my foot. All I can say is that it was dark, I had no shoes on and should have known better. Bad hooman.

Hope everyone has a good day.

From yesterday, for Amanda :) I'm being replaced because school is starting and I have two full days of (unpaid) interning on Monday/Tuesday, and class all day Wed/Thurs. Last semester I had all online classes and then it was summer, so I've been pretty open to working 24/7, and I have a pretty regular group that I see through the week, but with school starting up it's just not going to happen. So, we need to train someone else because I'll only be working on weekends. Which means I get to hit FH up for more money because I will be broke :)

Shammy, have you done water safety classes with your munchkins? Remember that most states have lifejacket laws, up until a child is a certain age, and to make sure it's an appropriate lifejacket for their weight and size, and it's actually BUCKLED. I can't tell you how many kids I see on boats with their lifejackets on, but unbuckled. That's my PSA for the day.

Off to get some work done.

    Owie, Dawn!

It is 58 degrees here this morning and I am sooooo loving it.  Supposed to go up to 84 today, but shoot, that's nothing.  Especially when you have delightfully cool nights to look forward to, and waking up to such heavenly temps.

I actually had to turn my fridge DOWN!  Has been such a fight to keep things in the fridge cold and now all of a sudden, I'm getting coffee creamer slushy!!  Wahoooo!  Cooler temps are such a gift!

I know ya'll think I'm nuts, but after the past year of miserable heat and humidity it feels soooo good to not run AC, to not be soaked with sweat everytime I do anything, to be able to sit outside without leaving a puddle........And yep, I might just complain about the snow and cold, but dealing with that is going to be so much better for me than suffering in the heat.

DS had an accident yesterday.  Poor guy just wanted to go out and explore a bit.  He ended up in VT, 20 miles up the road, and was turning into a farm stand hoping for apricots when a motorcycle came out of no where and rammed into his tire and then tore his bumper almost off.  Witnesses said that she was driving like a bat out of hades, going wayyyy too fast for that road.  She also had no DL or registration, insurance, etc with her.  He didn't get a ticket so am guessing she was found at fault??  They loaded her into an ambulance, but DS said she was consious and doing a lot of screaming.  The woman behind him in the lane was an EMT nurse so she gave first responder aid.  The gal went over the handlebars of the bike and landed in front of his truck, so he was shook, big time, and touching her shoulder asking her if she was ok, could she speak.....when the nurse came charging in and took over.  While Ryan knows not to move an injured person, I think everyones first instinct to to make them more comfortable, and he was shook, BAD.

The officers made him sit at the scene for a good 45 minutes after the ambulance left since he looked so ghastly and the nurse stayed with him and monitored him.  That was really thoughtful of her.

The rim on his truck is ruined.....the steering is way off, so at the very least he needs an alignment and to have the ball joints, etc, checked, and the bumper is really hanging.  Since HE was making a left hand turn, it must have been really clear that the gal on the bike was at fault or they would have ticketed him right then and there.  Poor guy won't be doing any exploring for awhile at least.  He was really shook.  And very worried about the gal who hit him, and we had NO way of finding out if she was ok.  Sigh.  Oh, and he said that her "crotch rocket" is completely totalled.  Pieces of IT ended up under his truck, over his truck and all sorts of places.

Last night walking the dogs was a nightmare.  There were drunks roaming around. the usual loose dogs, and of course the dogs tied to a tree in one of the tent sites.  Oh, and someone was shooting off fireworks.  That tied to a tree lab is going to have a major sore throat.  That dog has NOT quit barking since they checked in on Friday night.  I'm really surprised that the campground people didnt' do something about that.  They have a rather extensive list of rules........oh well.  The weekend is pretty much over and all these weekend fools will go home.  The tenters actually seem to be the worst.

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hey everyone!  I haven't been around too much, I've been busy at work and with wedding stuff at home.

Glenda - glad to hear you are doing well way up north again!

Gina and Grab - Quit making me want a puppy would you!  Your new additions are both ridiculously adorable Big Smile

I had to make an impromptu trip to the city yesterday.  About a month ago, I ordered a bustier for my wedding dress from a store in Waterloo that a friend recommended, well I've been getting the run around from them for the whole month, they couldn't tell me where exactly it was, if it had been shipped from the UK or if it was already in Montreal or anything - they finally phoned on Thursday and said that it wouldn't be ready in time for my wedding, but that they were "really sorry" about it.  Well after I unloaded on them and told them how completely unprofessional they were, etc, etc.  I called my soon to be SIL to see if she could help (she's a sales rep for various french lingerie companies) - she called a bunch of her stores and found me a bustier at a store near her house in Mississauga.   So we went down to the city to try it on and to have lunch with FH's brother and SIL and to meet with the woman who is making my wedding dress for a fitting.  Luckily that bustier was a success and I was able to cross that job off my wedding to do list.

I saw my dress!!  It is basically made, she just needs to finish up some seams and the hem on it.  She also needs to finish the bolero that goes with my dress.  The dress looks amazing.  If anyone wants to see it, it is quite similar to David's Bridal style 9T9948.  It will be ready at the end of August for me.  That is a huge load off my shoulders.  Now if only I could find some shoes.

I am home today and hoping to get some cleaning done, however I really really do not want to do that.  It's raining outside and seems like it will be very humid this afternoon.  I am thinking about going to the movies instead.  I have some free passes.  First I have to convince FH that he should get up and make us a nice bacon and eggs breaky.

Stacer, you want my shoes? Someone from David's Bridal keeps calling me to tell me the shoes I ordered to be dyed are ready to be picked up. I didn't order any friggen shoes!!

The litter I wanted a puppy from was born, this morning. There is ONE puppy, and he is not what I ordered. He is, however, going to make a lady in California VERY happy. I will not have a puppy, this yearSad BOO!!!!

I can wait, but I was SO READY! Oh, well.

I'm sorry Jennie.  There is very probably a darned good reason why this time it didn't work out........but, that doesn't make the disappointment any less.

It is still incredibly quiet here this morning.  Maybe all last nights drunks are too hung over to get up and break camp.......

    • Gold Top Dog

I figure it'll come when it comes. I'm just SO READY LOL.

Quiet is a good thing, on a Sunday morning. We're having one of those, too.

Good to hear that you unfriended the thief, Amanda.  When I fired DH's assistant recently, she unfriended ME tootsweet!  Big Smile

Not sure yet what the day holds....DH is still lazing in bed.  So, it may be a quiet hang around the house kind of day here.

Ah well.  My third load of laundry is in the dryer and I've walked two dogs.  I'm really out of shape I think since that walk back and forth to the laundry area with full baskets is kicking my butt.  Walking the dogs, not so much, but wow, the laundry, which is closer, is a killer.  But, too, I've been having a good deal more congestion up here and wake up every morning with a lot more coughing up to do.  Am guessing that I just need to adjust to the different allegens here.

I have had sinus issues since I was a child, so I'm not at all surprised to have increased issues now.  But the little bit of trouble breathing on the walks is a bit of a surprise.  Hopefully my asthma doesn't decide to kick back in now that I'm up north again.  It didn't in MI, so hopefully it won't here.  Fingers crossed that it's just the change in the air and the different allergens.

It's getting warm enough today that I just might go take a dip in the pool!

And thank you for that, Meg!!!  I bolded part to make it stand out, because I know people who do this - put an adult lifejacket on a kid and don't buckle it.  Jeez, people!

I walked G down to the park this morning.  Halfway there, a labradoodle saw us and Gracie was very interested in playing - we were not yet at the park, so this was all on the sidewalk.  The woman says "Oh, he's friendly" at which points he starts growling as we keep moving forward up the sidewalk and Gracie is playbowing.  At this point, the growling is constant, loud with some bark and the dog is maneuvering himself to either hide behind his owners or launch at Gracie.  Owner is restraining him and his growling, barking and body language becomes more intense - he meant it, this was not excited play stuff.  Woman says "Oh, he's not aggressive..." . To which I asked, "You sure about that??" with a laugh and kept on our way.

Glenda, I'm sorry for the accident.  If he was making a left hand turn, I assume he was in the far left lane and if she still hit him, then it really does sound like it was her fault.  Did she hit the back left or the back right tire?  Glad to hear our New England folks were there to care for and look after everyone on scene.  Summer time weekends are the worst for motorcycle and RV accidents.  *sigh*

Someone tell me why the heck I've had the Food Channel on all day.... while I'm trying to diet for my sister's wedding?  Geez.  I've gained 2 lbs since starting my job.  Thank goodness for Fit TV!

David and Luna, Tink 'n I had Give Kids the World this morning.  Out of all the kids we had two girls (different families) come up and just sit right down on the concrete to cuddle Luna and Tink.

After a couple of minutes with the second one, the mother said "These dogs are like the dogs that came to visit while you were in the hospital ... therapy dogs.  Soooooooooooooo, DO YOU FEEL BETTER **NOW**?????"

She never stopped cuddling the dogs and said "YES, I *sure DO* feel better -- they are WONDERFUL"

*grin*  I know she was a major dog person but hearing the words really felt good.  I will never forget 'mom' asking her if she 'feels better NOW?' --- *chuckle*  I have to wonder how many times that morning already she'd moaned about missing her dogs! LOL

David left from GKTW and went straight to work. I came home, finished laundry and finished dogfood.

NOW it's nap time and when David gets home we're gonna go see Sorverer's Apprentice.  am not a major Gage fan but I guess I just really like the idea that this is his own personal idea of what "the Sorcerer's Apprentice" oughta be if it weren't a cartoon with Mickey Mouse".

I noticed this morning that DGS was almost out of coffee.  He likes to keep a pitcher of coffee in the fridge and pour it over ice - 1/2 coffee and 1/2 French vanilla so I made a full pot so I could replenish his after I had a cup. Or two.

Max was sitting near me while I was getting ready, just watching the circles of light on the ceiling from the vanity lights reflecting off the hand mirror ... and I noticed that the hairs around the sides of his  nose and right under his bottom lip are turning white.  My puppy is becoming an old man. Sad In people years he'd be about 42, so I suppose that's the time we'd start seeing a few white hairs in the black ones. Still, I hate to think about him getting old.

On weekends some of the grocery stores cook  tri-tip or ribs outside.  I think I'll go cruise the stores and see if I can find one that has dinner already cooked.

Cher woke me up way too early this morning.

We decided to make the most of the early morning wake up call, so we cleaned the house, & then took the dogs to Starbucks for coffee & breakfast.  While we were there, Bevo was attacked by a dog who looked a lot like Pirate.  Pirate is a lot cuter than this dog, but still...  The dog was running around at the end of his flexi, & decided to jump on Bev, who was laying, broadside, on his mat.  Bev just layed there while the dog was chewing on his face.  It wasn't until Cher & Chyna got to the dog that the fight was stopped.  Well, sort of stopped.  They girls chewed on the dog for a second or two before I could get them away from it.  Bev has some scratches & scrapes on his head, & a puncture on his lip, but is otherwise unphased.  The other little dog may not have fared quite as well after the girls finished off with him.  There were some cuts on him that probably needed to be sutured, & I'm not sure that it's ear will ever be the same.  Both Chyna & Cher a "slammers" so the fact that they were playing tug-o-war with the dog was probably it's saving grace.

The dog's owner was very apologetic.  She said "he always jumps on bigger dogs."  I ripped her for having him on a flexi, & told her that it was only a matter of time before one of the dogs that he decided to attack killed him.  She just nodded her head in agreement.  What an idiot.

On an upnote, the SB manager was out on the patio talking to someone when this took place.  He insisted on bringing us more coffee & cinnamon rolls for our trouble.  Who can turn down free coffee & cinnamon rolls?
