I got pretty sad to see him go especially when he kept looking at me like "but hey you are my mom"
He became very fearful and wanted to stay in his crate, tail tucked again, wouldn't take food from her.
But when I carried the crate to her car he was all wagging after me like OK if my house comes with me LOL
I had to sit in her car and then he went in after some coaxing and was plastered to the floor. I had put some kibble down but instead of eating it he laid on it, poor guy.
But now a half hour or so later I feel relieved, Bugsy was getting very anxious (for him, so off the Richter scale for normal dogs) and in fact was freaking out when he was going. He tends to take care of other dogs so he was upset he was leaving. But Red was overwhelmed by Bugsy's desire to play and run and every time they were together he would wind up growling at B. I didn't want that to escalate and I couldn't bring Red in because of Bugsy's anxiety and intent to play.
So it all fell into place, even the weather today was very cool and damp so the garage was a decent place to be - had it been 105* and sunny ............ugh I hesitate to think about it
Anyway he was sent off with the food I bought, another busy bone, an antler, the toy, a couple of frisbees, the little mat I had in the crate, the crate for now, a matching collar and leash. Bugsy is now sad but calm
I have many role models to thank and also some great friends and contacts that made this happen. And many thanks to all of you for the support and ideas.
Campbell's mom is the one that contacted this particular rescue so kudos to her
