Rode my bike to work today.  Got to the corner about 1/4 block from my office.  I stopped, just getting ready to cross the street, when a guy who is on the sidewalk says "Tina?".  I look over (I'd seen him walking, but didn't pay attention), and it is a guy I know from about 15 years ago who I'd hooked up with a few times.  I have seen him in town on occasion, but always avoid him since our last "session" ended with him assaulting me.  Imagine my surprise to see him standing about 6 feet away asking how I was doing. I was a bit shaken up.

Ugh Tina - I'd have been shaken up too. I assume the assault wasn't worth pressing charges for?

Julie - congrats to you and Neiko!! and good luck with your review.

Karen and Sharon - I hope you both feel better soon. I haven't had a summer cold in many years but I still remember how awful they are.

Not sure why, but I woke up 5 different times, about every 2 hours, to go to the bathroom last night. When I got up the last time about 5:30, I thought maybe I have a bladder infection but I feel totally fine, so beats me. I do need to go get my lab work redone, so I'll do that later today or tomorrow.

DH's back was feeling better when he went to bed last night and then bad again this morning. We bought the sleep # bed over a year ago and both of us had been loving it but now he's back to blaming the bed. I asked him what he changed the setting to last night and he said 100. Really?? Why would you think going from 55 to 100 would be a good idea? If it is the bed, he's gonna have to sleep on the floor cause I love it. Stick out tongue

We were told this morning when I got here that our accounting program needed an urgent update and was going down at 9:00a for about 2 hours, so I was trying to get as many entries in as I could.  Now we're down.

Nice - we were told at 9:26 that our servers need an update at 10.  Will only be down for 5 mins, except if you're remoting in - those people could be down for 30 mins or more.  teehee!

I should have, but was too embarrassed to have to go to court.  Let's just say he bit me on the neck and in places I can't post here as well as leaving me practically unable to walk or sit for several days.  I blamed myself for getting into that position.  I did have the last word, though.  He came to the track where I worked a week later and asked why I hadn't called him.  I asked him "Why would I?" and told him "this is what you did to me."  He claimed he didn't remember due to alcohol, but I said, "If you didn't know what you did, why did you come here to see how I was doing?"  He couldn't answer me.  I said, "I was giving it to you and didn't want any commitment, you didn't have to do that."  And I told him I knew 3 large men who were ready to come over and kick his butt into next year; all I had to do was say the word.  (the advantage of working at the track, you get to know some shady types).  And after I told him to stay away from me, I spent 6 weeks in therapy trying to forgive myself.

Ugh, Tina that is horrible (((hugs)))

Tina, yuck to seeing that guy on your way to work. Angry  That's cool that you get to have a doggie fix. :)  You know you're a dog person when dog sitting trumps a guy! LOL   Send your son to Texas.  When Amanda gets thru with him she can send him to me.  Wonder how he would like working outside in our heat all day?

Paige, sorry you're feeling the effects from your B-day celebrations yesterday. Ick! But really, if you didn't feel a little bad you just weren't celebrating enough. :)   Those people on your lawn needed a taste of the 2 x 4.

Cathy, my bladder infection started out with me having to go a lot more often than normal.  It went from that to PAIN is a few hours. I hope that's not the case with you.  Sorry your DH's back was worse this morning but duh, changing the setting that drastically just might have something to do with it.

I read your blog post on fb about your training and the testing.  Very cool and I love reading about the details of the training and how you go about it.

Thanks! I'm glad that you enjoy reading them. We have to keep training logs so I just write them up on there, print them off and put them in my binder. (I don't hand write because it screws up my arm.)

    Warning: graphic paragraph below

For cadaver we use the real deal. We get "parts" from medical schools. Among other things we have a hand, which we have named Thing. You have to keep a sense of humor about these things ;p Thankfully, for some reason, I don't have a very good sense of smell for that. I have no idea why because I can smell a dead animal instantly, but a dead person, not so much. Maybe my brain blocks it out to keep me sane ;p

I totally understand and had a similar, but not nearly as bad, incident when I was much younger. I still could cry when I think about it. One thing I'm sure of now that I'm older is that I didn't do anything to deserve it and neither did you.

Jackie - thanks for the info and I hope it doesn't progress into something worse too. I should definitely be drinking a lot more water than I do.

LOL Deb - unfortunately, there's no fun reason for DH's back to be hurting today.

Tina, the only one to blame is him. I'm sorry you had to see him. That would have shaken me up too. I've been known to make grown men cry, who have tried to take "advantage" of me in the past, so feel free to send him my way.

Despite being sick, this has been a rather amusing day so far. The only work I have right now involves making calls. I have hardly any voice. What voice I do have, is prone to cracking and cutting out with no warning. At least once on the phone, I had to excuse myself for a coughing fit. Some of my shoppers I'm more familiar/friendly with, have been very sweet and one just sent me a get well e-card. Given that the majority of my shoppers seem to be a pain in my butt lately, I really treasure those nice, sweet thoughtful ones. That card totally made my day!

I wish I could just take the day off and crawl back to bed, but that is sooo not an option today. Back to work I go!

(Ari has also been amusing today, she's getting mini meals all day to help ease her back into eating and she keeps looking at her dish, running to me and poking me on my bare legs then giving me a soft woof. apparently the frequency of her meals are not coming soon enough for her!)

He would whine - A LOT.  When he was little, I used to say that even if someone kidnapped him from the mall, they'd bring him back after about 2 hours, he was that tough of a kid to handle.

At least with the crappy guy experiences, I get a little smarter each time.  Or maybe less trusting, not sure which.  I may find my Prince Charming yet.

And there is finally quiet in the house. LOL! I gave Dexter a couple of bones to chew on. Of course this is after he and Maze had the zoomies which ended in him falling in a box. LMAO!  Sandy's finally had enough with him chewing on her ear so she's sitting with me right now.  Tomorrow it's VET DAY! Weee.. Dex gets his booster and Maze gets her physical. Hopefully we can get her breathing sorted out.

Sandy and I have a demonstration to go to tonight. Should be fun.  And Dexter just fell in the box again. Geez.. Yes I do have more pictures of him, just gotta upload them.

Tina, I'm sorry that happened and the guy has a lot of nerve talking to you. (hugs)

    YAY Glenda!

    • Gold Top Dog

Tina, I'm used to whiners.  I live with 2 *** boys.

I am sooo freaking busy.  I need a nap!

    • Gold Top Dog

Tina, none of the crappy stuff that happened is your fault in any way.  And yes, Prince Charming is out there.  He'll show up when you least expect it.

Ah ... facebook.  Guys, I never even knew I had a facebook page until my nephew e-mailed me and told me I had one and his pic was on it.  Don't know how any of that happened - honest. Because messages come through regular e-mail I can get them, but as far as finding a wall (my own or anybody elses) ... and figuring out how to write on it - ain't gonna happen any time soon I'm afraid. But thanks for all the good wishes anywy. Big Smile

I realized over the 4th. of July weekend that the pool/spa heater wasn't igniting, so I finally had someone come out and look at it.  Silly me - I thought it would just  be a matter of re-lighting the pilot.  Seems like the whole heater is shot, rusted out from the bottom.  Well, it is a bit over 20 years old, but still ... I'm not going to lay out $2,500 for a new heater now.  I'll just tell the guys if they need to sit in hot water, go fill up the bathtub.

Bugsy is some sort of mole idiot savant - I don't think that needs clarification

Thanks for the well wishes - I feel better but so very weak because my lungs just aren't happy.  I do not understand why they aren't getting better.

Jackie I cannot believe you are keeping that puppy! Not because she isn't adorable but I was sure you were tough LOL

Tina - so sorry about the guy and tough times with your son.

Our AmEx bill just arrived and it is 10 pages.  DH has some 'splaining to do!

I just had a tough session with a client - I really hate when there really aren't any good solutions

Off to right up the summary
