    MC Thursday

Starting my day by taking Bugsy to his original girlfriend's house for a play.  Must remember the camera!

I am still really feeling poorly - terribly weak - HATE this feeling

hugely busy day after the playdate, the question is will I survive it?

    have a great day all

Glad that Paige had a nice BD and hoping Joyce did too!  I am sure that Gracie & Moose had wonderful gotcha days

That dog is still at the farm and running loose this morning - not sure what can be done but I am going to call one of the people I know at the SPCA

    Feel better Karen.

Loading day is finally here!!  Yehaw!!  Well, not so yehaw for the physical labor and the heat, but overall YEHAW!!

Does anyone know that old southern adage.....ladies glisten, men perspire, field hands sweat??  I believe I've passed right through all those stages and into MULE!  Not remotely sure how soooo much liquid comes out of one human body!  And I really HATE sweating.  Yuck.  But, just one more day of it and then on the road.  Tomorrow we'll likely get to SC and spend the night there, so still heat, but at least we'll just be DRIVING in the heat and not working in it.

I am amped!!!  So ready to get the day started!

Of course, the male species around here will surely have different ideas about an appropriate time to hit the bricks.  Not sure why men don't get that the later you sleep, the longer you wait, the HOTTER it gets.  Oh well, off for my last visit to the WallyWorld here to take care of the last minute stuff I need to pick up, then onward and upward!

Yaaay loading day Glenda!!!  I still have a head cold and I'm just annoyed. I tossed and turned until about 2-2:30am. I fell asleep and woke up at 4am. It's going to be a loooooong day. At least Ari's back home!

Karen and Sharon, hope you both are feeling better soon.  Sharon, I'm glad your monstah is home. :)

    Glenda, happy loading day!

I dropped the pup off for another dip treatment this morning.  She was very happy to see the vet tech which made me happy knowing she must have had a good experience with him the last time.  I love my new Vet and her staff.  :)

A friend is miffed at me because he told a mutual friend that I had a puppy looking for a home.  Yes, I am looking for a home for her but it has to be the right home.  I told him that I didn't think this person would be the right home for this pup and that led to a frank discussion on our differences regarding what constitutes a good dog home.  Sigh.

Deb, how was the Prez visit yesterday?

Did anyone else see a short video taken by a fisherman in Georgia of dozens and dozens of alligators in a feeding frenzy?   Really incredible.

    • Gold Top Dog

Glenda, yay loading day!  Hope your trip goes smoothly.

    Karen, Sharon -- feel better!

Jackie, thanks for being so particular about finding this pup a great home. She will appreciate it :)

Did anyone else know this -- we did a group order from Chipotle yesterday, and the "leader" (me) can go in, fill out some details and email addy's of all involved, and then it sends a link to each person to select their own customizable meal?  Then it all comes back to me to put on the boss's CC, and you pick it up all at once.  Pretty nifty.  Better than me pestering folks about what they want or the choices they have.

I started moving things out of a freezer at work, to eventually defrost it (we can't use frost free for lab supplies) and there's at least 10% of the stuff embedded in ice so badly I can't get it out.  I think it's hammer time LOL

Yay Glenda, I am so happy for you guys.  In case you leave before I get on here tomorrow, safe travels!

Paige that was so nice of your boss.  I'm so glad things are going well for you there, and super glad you weren't 'alone' on your B-day

Had a great night last night.  Probably drank more than I should have, but I wasn't driving.  When we got home I really thought I was going to be having a hard time this morning, I felt rough, but by the time I got up, I was fine.  Actually was an hour late, wouldn't have been, I got up when the alarm went off, but I can't resist a "let's snuggle"

Deb, how was the Prez visit yesterday?

It was the cluster "cook" we all knew it would be.  Funny thing is, I have to go through 19 thousand levels of security clearances just to be within 500 feet of the prez, and Kate goes to the sub shop he visited in the town next us, and got almost right next to him !!!

That video really, really creeped me out.

It's really *cough* too bad *cough* that you didn't think that person and Scrappy would be a good fit.

Glenda, I'm excited for you! I hope all the packing goes well today with no hiccups.

Jackie, we need more puppy pictures. Especially if you are going to give her away *cry*

I'm tired today. I didn't get home from our test (we passed!) until midnight then was up until about 1:30 just trying to wind down. I'm so glad to have that test behind us. I was really worried but it turned out to be fairly easy. Now I have a whole new set of things to worry about like training him to find articles and dead people. Must.Not.Stress.

Tomorrow is my mid-year review too - so I'm stressing about that as well. I'm going to need a drink tonight or something ;p

Julie, good luck with the review tomorrow.

I love how everyone uses "cook."

I'm back at work.  Not sure how long it's gonna last...

Deb, I have a strange fascination with alligators but you wouldn't find me in a boat in the midst of that frenzy for any amount of money or youtube fame!  lol

It is odd *cough, cough* how picky I am about a home for little Scrappy. :)  BTW, Charles doesn't like the name Scrappy.  Turd.

Steph, I think you had a great reason for being late this morning. :))

Amanda, I think you may have coined a new term with 'cook' and it's so much more civilized sounding.  It does lose a little of it's dramatic effect when used in real life conversations.  LOL

    Where's Tina?

ETA something but I forgot what it was. Tongue Tied

Don't drown them for that reason because Charles doesn't have executive approval of dog names.  I do. :)

I remember what I was going to add earlier.  Good luck with your review, Julie.  Big congrats on passing level 2 with Neiko.  I read your blog post on fb about your training and the testing.  Very cool and I love reading about the details of the training and how you go about it.

I'll get some pictures of Scrappy soon.  She rarely holds still for long so most of the pic's I take of her are a blur of motion. lol

    Where's Tina?

    **Waving**  I'm here!

We were told this morning when I got here that our accounting program needed an urgent update and was going down at 9:00a for about 2 hours, so I was trying to get as many entries in as I could.  Now we're down.

Congrats Julie & Neiko!  And good luck on tomorrow's review.

Rode my bike to work today.  Got to the corner about 1/4 block from my office.  I stopped, just getting ready to cross the street, when a guy who is on the sidewalk says "Tina?".  I look over (I'd seen him walking, but didn't pay attention), and it is a guy I know from about 15 years ago who I'd hooked up with a few times.  I have seen him in town on occasion, but always avoid him since our last "session" ended with him assaulting me.  Imagine my surprise to see him standing about 6 feet away asking how I was doing. I was a bit shaken up.

One of the store managers who runs one of our restaurants about two hours from here just called and asked if I'd babysit his family's dog next week for 4 days (Thurs-Sun).  They are going to Ohio and since they will drive right by me, they'll drop the dog off.  I'm excited!  My friend was worried it might interfere with my new relationship and I said, "Oh heck no.  Dogs are still my first priority."

Things with DS were quiet yesterday, thankfully, except he still hadn't mowed, so I did because it had to be done, but I chose not to comment about it to him.  I'm sure it will come up, though, when the time is right.

Moose got some extra chicken breast for his gotcha day right before bedtime (I don't free-feed).  He was thrilled.

     Uh, YEAH!

Congrats on passing your test, Julie!  (I'm afraid to know what you use to train him to find dead people.  I could nominate a few subjects, but they're not in your area.)

I still feel the slightest bit of whooo right now.  Just the teensiest hang over.  I stopped myself from peuking on the bus (you get this old, you know how).  Hopefully by noon things will be A-OK entirely.

I had a confrontation w/some people on my front lawn when I got home yesterday.  Two guys standing in my walkway, some woman walking across my grass to hang with them.  I flipped - I'm sick of garbage and cig butts and alcohol "nip" bottles being thrown on my lawn, in my flower pots. I said something about this not being Grand Central Station.  Dude got really defensive, called me a "white B*" and that just escalated me right back down the walkway to demand clarification "I'M THE WHITE B*%#!?!"  (liquid courage, apparently) His wife stepped to me they were pissed, but just talkers, and eventually they walked away.  More repeats of me being the "white B"  Gotta love it.  GET OFF MY DAMNED PROPERTY!
