Very glad to hear you're ok!!! And your friend too :)

this weather needs to decide what it is doing. I wanted to take the dogs for a run... but it's currently thundering, with blue skies. Yesterday it POURED. I met a friend for dinner, and got soaked running from the parking lot to the restaurant. Not really wanting to repeat that today!!

Just a public thank you to Jennie, from Mayday's mom.  She is over the moon happy right now.  That was her goal for Mayday, and considering her injury which has halted her Obed/Rally career, it was fantastic news.  Also, we looked at the report, and Mayday was ranked #1 Working Dog!!  May's mom is thrilled - you made her week, maybe her month.  Thank you so much for looking out for her, and for sharing.  YOU made her sooooo happy!!

I was going to ask if any of the dogs were with you. Since you hadn't mentioned them, I figured they were okay, but I knew you were planning on bringing someone with you this weekend.

Cher was crated in the cargo area.  She seemed fine, but my brother came & picked her up & took her to the e-vet to be checked just in case.  She's running zoomies through the house today, with no signs of soreness.

Glad you're out of the hospital after your ordeal, Amanda!  And a bit random: What kind of crate was Cher in?  I'm always looking for data on crate performance in car accidents.

DH and I spent 3 hours in IKEA today and spent a bit more than we really should have, but came out with a nice desk, a 3 drawer unit, some organizational stuff, and an awesome lamp for me and a shelf, drawer unit, and desk chair for DH.  Only bummer is that I forgot to pick up the second drawer unit I was planning on getting. Stick out tongue DH has already installed the light (over the kitchen/dining room table) and I've assembled his chair and my desk. Smile

     Glad you're mostly ok Amanda.

I'm feeling like I should do something, but I don't know what.

I'm happy to hear that Cher seems no worse for the wear. I'm curious as to the crate as well, and some of the accident statistics to go with it, your speed, the other cars speed, what types of cars - gives a bigger picture of performance. But I'm weird that way! Just so glad everyone is going to be okay!

reached accross to put her arm in front of me, (funny how dog owners & parents instantly do this)

So true.  Its just automatic.  Glad to hear you are home, safe and sound.  Get some rest...do nothing, you have some healing to do.

I just colored my hair...and its now darker.  The sun had lightened my hair over the last few weeks.  Kinda looks weird.  But the roots look better.  Got the mop cut yesterday...so it feels better too.  I've been in that awkward phase of growing out the bangs.  Now...I think I'm past the worst of it.  The gal who cut it took off more than I planned....but she said it was verry uneven and had to take more off to get it in shape.  Oh well....it grows fast.

    Off to make a salad.

Just a thank you to both Callie and Erica for sending the storms MY way.  I am really terrified of thunder storms and in the RV??  Wow!  IT shakes with some of the booms!  And I actually had to go out to the car for trash bags to put over and around my baskets so I could get them out without having to go back and dry them all again!!  And now that the rain is over??  Natch, it's hotter than the hinges of hell-o!!

Cher was in a 300 series Vari Kennel.  We were in a 2007 Ford Escape.  I don't  know how fast we were going, I wasn't driving.  It couldn't have been too fast though.  We were the thrid to fourth car back when the light changed, & we were near the middle of the intersection when we got hit.  We were hit in the passenger doors by a 2010 Toyota Tundra.  My friend said that, from the skid marks, the police estimated that the other guy/girl (?) was going between 40-50mph.  Fire fighters had to cut me out of the vehicle, but, aside from the seatbelt hanging up, I wasn't trapped.  A little crowded, yes, but not trapped.  I had room to move & I could have climbed out of the driver's side door had it not been for a huge neck brace, & emergency personel telling me not to move.

Now for a serious question.....where do I find a beaded collar?  I was hoping to find one today, but that didn't work out, & Cher is insisting that she has to have one.  Any ideas?

May I suggest this lady's collars? I would LOVE to have some of her stuff. The leather is incredibly soft, the dyed colors are beautiful and true/uniform, and the craftsmanship is exquisite. Not cheap, but she's good. My friend has one which is why I hunted her down at Dallas and Houston. I'm going to save up for one - maybe when I finish my first bred by champion (not holding my breath on that one after Allie and Reliant! LOL)....but drooooooooooooooooooooollllll.....Sage needs the violet one, Poppie a pink one, and Allie a blue one. :)

Thanks for the info. Makes me glad I have a Ford Escape now. How did Cher handle all the emergency personnel?

Wow, Amanda!  I'm so glad you're okay.  You gotta love this place.  Once we find out that Amanda was okay, the crate questions come & it's okay.  Very few places or groups would ask about the crate, let alone be okay with it.  Just sayin....with a smile on my face.

OMG, those are gorgeous!  There's a longhorn one!!!!!!!!!

Hang in there, Allie, despite her large stature, is still a baby.  She's still got "puppy brain."  A frustrating, & humbling disease....

Cher wasn't impressed by the emergency personnel.  My friend says that she was barking her fool head off.  I don't remember hearing her.  That could have just been a "Cher thing."  She's quite vocal, & enjoys hearing herself bark, so it's hard to tell exactly how she was reacting.  She made the emergecy personnel nervous enough that they just moved her, in the crate, to an ambulance so that she'd stay cool.  My DH & brother came to the accident scene, & they had my brother go get her out, check her over, & keep her away from them!

I was just looking at old pictures in my kodak gallery album (that need to somehow go to my photobucket). Anyway, I don't even remember who some of the people are. I did remember you, Grady, and Aspen though Annie.

So proud of my two today! =] I'm a happy momma.

Our family had a bon fire today and invited another family to come join us. Two adults and two older children (12 and 14.) We were outside the whole time, so of course brought Penny and Daisy out with us. They behaved soo well. Daisy lived with the family before we adopted her, long story, and they were really amazed with the progress she has made from the frail, afraid puppymill dog to a pretty content, happy girl that she is today. She was still pretty nervous and a bit stressed, she's not used to being around that many strangers at once, but did wonderful. We put her in the house after a few hours, to let her rest. Penny, on the other hand, AMAZED me!! When we have visitors in the house, we generally put her in a room, because she is very very vocal and protective of her home. Outside is apparently a different story. She still barked a little bit at the dad, but just a yap or two. She definately prefers women/children over men. The mom adores Penny and so does Penny, apparently. She voluntarily jumped on her lap and rolled on her back for lovins'. She was off leash the whole time and never attempted to run off. She stayed with us the whole time and boy, was she the life of the party! Penny's always been an attention seeker, but she was *the* center of attention tonight! She literally plopped herself down in the middle of everyone and made a goof of herself. Rolling around in the grass, chewing sticks, stealing people's empty iced tea cups, throwing crab apples up in the air and playing with them, prancing around with water filled cups and dumping them all over herself. What a hoot! Everyone loved her and I was just beaming. Generally, people think Penny is scary and anti- social, which she can be. That's not how she is with us. Tonight, she was everyone's friend!! I've never seen her so social, goofy and HAPPY in my life. That nub never stopped! Most people don't know how she is at home, which is playful and friendly. However, I'm pretty sure the mom was ready to sneak Penny in her car with her!! Sorry for the long ramble, I just wanted to share!
