Happy Saturday chat!

    Happy Saturday chat!

OK, still floating!!  And last night was a wonderful celebration!  'Nuff said!

I think we're going to opt for trailers instead of the truck.  Much cheaper that way since the gas for the truck alone is over $1500.  So, today I need to start working on taking apart whatever can be taken apart to save room in said trailers.  And, we'll be a tiny bit cramped in the RV on the road, but, oh well.  It sure isn't like we haven't been cramped in here before!

Unfortunately, will have to borrow money from my Mom to get us up there since this is a "reimbursed" deal and not an up front cash kind of thing.  But, she'll have it back by the middle of August.  Sis has to be involved since SHE is the one who holds Mom's purse strings now, but, Sis is just going to have to "get it".  I HOPE!!!  But, everything else has worked out, so I'll hang on to faith that this will as well.

Going to have a busy, but gloriously HAPPY day!!!

I slept till almost 7:00am and I feel so wonderful and rested.  :)   We need to get busy this morning and try to fix the leaking tub faucet in one of the bathrooms.  It went from little drip to a stream of water in a few days. Sad   This should be loads of fun.

I want to go to a farmers market that's a little bit of a drive from here.  I've heard they have an amazing assortment of veggies and fruit. yum.

Charles got up to go to the bathroom last night and I noticed he was changing his tee shirt and underwear.  I asked him why and he said he's been sweating so bad some nights he is dripping wet. Sad  That's got me in worried mode.  We keep the house very cold at night so it's not the room temperature.  He said it's been going on for a few weeks.

Puppy is doing well and is quiet as a mouse all night in her crate.  Which means I have to set an alarm to take her out to potty.  She's a good little thing and does her business and goes right back in the crate and back to sleep without a whimper. :)   Good thing I'm not falling in love with her. Wink

I hope Tina is having a great time with her guy friend this weekend.

Glenda, I'm still floating along with you about the great news.  You have never been far from my thoughts and prayers these last few weeks.  (((hugs)))

Have a great day everyone.  I plan to let nothing spoil my great mood. :)

I'm in a pretty good mood so far.  little bit of a sore throat but i'm used to those now so i don't let it stop me.

I'm still laying in bed, Derek sleeping beside me.  This morning we will go to a jewellery store to look at other wedding bands, this place has the celtic ones Derek wants,  Then the little farmer's market, then to another town so Derek can go into his history store.  Then a little further east and we will dip our feet into Lake Simcoe for a bit Smile

Glenda, I'm sooo excited for you!!!!!!!!!

Jackie - I hope the night sweats are nothing to worry about but hopefully Charles will mention it to his dr. anyway. Oh, and I'm not falling in love with that cute, perfect little puppy either Wink

I woke up off and on all night. I always do that when I have something going on the next day. I wanted to leave early for my brothers but not at 4:30 AM. Oh well, it's given me time to enjoy coffee and not feel rushed. It's supposed to be close to 100 here today but is usually a bit cooler where my brother lives.

    Yay Glenda!

Jackie, you probably just need a new cartridge for the tub faucet. They're easy to change, just make sure you know what brand of faucet you have before you head to the store, and the general shape of it. Then you pop the cap off the faucet, unscrew the handle, take the old cardtridge out and put the new one in. The instructions are on the package and its pretty straight forward. I had to do both of mine when I moved in here since my Uncle just spent the previous 3 years over tightening the darn thing to get it to stop dripping. Had to change the shower diverter and the kitchen faucet too...sighs...home ownership is fun huh?

Lauren, I think the celtic wedding band idea is great. I love things with character. I wonder if T would be receptive to that sort of thing? Probably.

Tyler and the girls are on their way home right now. They've been in Thunder Bay all week and I misses them like Kra Zay!!! But I did get alot done while they were gone. Taught myself how to do baseboard trim and it looks fabulous! Though I will have to add quarter round eventually cause the floor is so uneven.

I am so ridiculously tired. Callie is going crazy in her crate, I don't know why, and it woke me up way too early, because it woke Luke up. I took him out and went back to sleep, and this time I just went up and put him in his crate with his breakfast. I'm so glad I skipped the going out till all hours with a bunch of people I mostly don't know.

I busted my camera yesterday, so I need to camera shop later this afternoon, after I work and wake up enough to make a good decision. I am so glad my first client of the day typically is on vacation, because otherwise I would have needed to be there in five minutes.

last for the what I think is way too early am. So, I don't typically wear dresses (like not in the last 15 years at least) nor do I bother to do things with my hair, or wear make up. That's all too high effort. One of the groomsmen, while I was hanging back in the room some of them were staying in order to avoid the effort to drag me out for beer that I don't like, and he was hanging back just to hang back a few minutes said that this was sexy. A few minutes later while I was still hanging there to avoid getting dragged into the bar hopping though, he told me I didn't have to wait for him to leave to go. I was really just trying to make sure the group got far enough out so that I could get away unnoticed. Not sure what to make of that though. Except that I really should take the time to straighten my hair more often.

Jez, you are crazy good at that home ownership stuff!  Will you marry me?  Wink  LOL DH is as well, but he mostly fixes things because I'm anal about them, rather than them "needing" to be done, so there's a bit of complaining involved and muttering about his 'crazy' wife.

Glenda, hope all works out with the move!  It's not really on the way, but if you happen to come through Pittsburgh let me know :)

I had allergy testing yesterday, in hopes to ever be able to breathe again.  It's been a good 8 years since I've been able to breathe properly, and maybe more - I just can't remember that far back.  A CT scan showed a mildly deviated septum but nothing terrible, so onto the allergy testing.  It was something like 50 injections!  If you have a needle phobia, this isn't for you!  But it showed a low positve for a bunch of things, so I think I'm gonna try the allergy shots and see if they help.  Insurance covers 100% so it's just the hassle of getting shots every week.  At least the office is connected to my work building so it's not horribly inconvenient.  I'm crossing my fingers!  Oh and I read somewhere birth control pills can cause congestion -- I should ask about that.  Oddly enough, I've been on them for 8 years too.

I slept a good 9.5-10 hours and finally feel rested.  Now to tackle a bunch of projects and cleaning around here!

    Have a good weekend!

I feel less grumpy today.  Sleep is GOOD.

My cousin stopped by unannounced last night.  Which is a pet-peeve of mine.  Anyway, she visited with her dog, and brought all the dogs ol roy bones.  Ick.  I let them have them while she was here.  Well, just chewing on it made Chloe vomit up her dinner and the bits of the chewy bone.  Groosssssss.  I threw the rest away when she left.

There is a church picnic tomorrow, so I'm going to make some brownies to bring.  I've got quite a few chores to do, too.

Glenda, I'm so happy for the job!  Yay!!!

    • Gold Top Dog

Just swinging in real quick to say CONGRATS GLENDA AND HUBBY!!!!

    • Gold Top Dog

Cathy, the puppy isn't quite perfect but she's so cute her puppy antics get her by when she's less than perfect. LOL

Lauren, toe dipping in the lake sounds great.

Candace, thanks for the plumbing advice. :)  Come on down and be the "helper" (I hate that job). lol  We haven't even started the project yet because the dogs reminded us that we had to go to the park early before it gets too hot outside. lol  Any excust to put off chores.  We've done lots of plumbing projects but they never go as smoothly as they do on TV.  Charles has all his tools and supplies laid out in the bathroom like a surgeon with his instruments. lol   Glad the kiddos are on the way home.  I know you've been missing them.

Niclole, I hope the allergy shots help.

I have a hair cut appointment at 11:00 and almost forgot about it. Darn, I won't be here for the plumbing repair. Wink

Faucet issues must be contagious - DH and I spent 3 hours Wednesday night replacing our bathroom faucets after I found a leak that morning.  Tons of fun - not! - but I did find out that I am pretty good at fitting under sinks to tighten screws, etc. LOL

I leave for a visit to the parents in IN a week from today and wouldn't you know it that this little boy needs a foster home ASAP:

I may see if DH would like to temp foster him while I'm gone since I'm taking all three dogs with me for the 10 day visit....

    • Gold Top Dog

Congradulations Glenda and Todd!!!  I can't even imagine how excited you two must be!!  Big Smile

Jackie, I think I missed who this puppy is that you are "not" falling in love with??

FH and I are home this weekend - I am so excited about that.  We have been so busy and all over the place lately, it is nice to have a weekend at home to get things done around the house.  So, today I am cleaning and organizing the house and FH is cleaning and organizing his bird room.  Hopefully a lot of those birds will be gone next month.  My fingers are crossed.  We just had a delicious breakfast of ruhbarb chocolate chip pancakes.  Yum!

We are also trying to decide on our honeymoon.  We are quite interested in these:  http://www.junglebaydominica.com/index.cfm , http://www.tranquilobay.com/home.htm  places right now.  Other than that I've found some general all inclusives that look good - have any of you been to either of these resorts:

    http://www.secretsresorts.com/sanctuary/index.asp

    http://www.dreamsresorts.com/drelr/index.html

    http://www.couples.com/12sw/index.html

or any of the Sandals Resorts?

We have never done the all inclusive thing before and are a bit afraid that we'd be bored.  I'd love to hear others views on them.

That sounds like a WONDERFUL idea!

I'm packing up the dogs and I to go stay at the future in laws. We're watching their dogs while they're in the Caymans for a week. I wanna go to the Caymans :(

    Morning!

Got up early, hit the garden, came home, showered and then hit the grocery store. I got some great deals, my total was 160.00 but after card and coupon savings I spent 95.00 so I was happy as a clam.

Going to start laundry, clean the kitchen, make some fresh from the garden salsa, and then work on a quilt.

Weather wise today was suppose to be BLAZING HOT, but so far there is a nice breeze and it is not as bad as yesterday.  You all have fun.

    • Gold Top Dog

Glenda, I am so excited that we will be in the same state!!!! Granted, it's a long way from Pittsfield to Boston, but if you are headed this way to go to Fenway, or to tour Boston, I'll be happy to meet you for dinner if I can.  Maybe we can get Blacklabbie to come, too!  Heck, on a Saturday, I'd drive an hour if you would, too:-)
