    Pregnancy update(ewin0210)

I had an appt with my high risk OB yesterday to measure the growth of the baby. She was concerned that the diet I am on might impact the growth/gain of the baby(no complex carbs, no refined sugar, no starch, no gluten). But it was clearly not a problem! At 28w4d he is estimated as weighing 3 lbs2ounces. A 28 week average is 2.2 lbs and 29 weeks average is just 2.5 lbs. So clearly he's getting what he needs! His head is measuring 2 weeks ahead!!!!!! I told my DH that that comes from his side of the family. I'm excited to see how big this one gets! It will be strange to have a baby with lots of substance to him! lol The technician also pointed out that he has hair growing on the back of his head :) And she got this super fabulous profile shot:

Next appt is next friday with my regular OB. And then at 32 weeks I go in for a non stress test and another growth scan. After which I'll have NST's and growth scans every 2 weeks until 36 weeks. ANd then I'll get them weekly! Hard to believe I'm as far as I am!

Hey I can actually tell what I'm looking at in that unltrasound pic!  I'm glad everything is going well!  Out of curiosity, what is the reason for the diet (not trying to be nosy)?

    Thanks so much guys :)

And be nosey with me. I'm ok! lol The diet helps with my ulcerative colitis. Its called the specific carbohydrate diet. And it has been shown to help those with irritable bowel diseases like ulcerative colitis and crohn's. As well as those who are autistic. Its not an easy diet. And usually, when I'm not pregnant or breastfeeding I don't need to be on it. But pregnancy adds stress to your body and stress is one of the major components that can cause uc flares. So after a few months of on and off symptoms of a flare brewing I bit the bullet and went on the diet. It'll be pretty great with post partum weight loss though. Last time I was back to my pre pregnancy weight and size at 2-3 weeks.

Um...can I get that diet plan please? Hehe. I'm still not back to prepreggo weight. LOL

I'm so glad things are going so great for you! It will be great to welcome a new little one around here.

I'm excited to see how big this one gets! It will be strange to have a baby with lots of substance to him! lol

Willa was 2 weeks early, and 5 lbs, 10 oz. And always skinny! She never had that chubbiness to her. Sonja was one week late, and 7 lbs, 12 oz. She's a total squishy chunky-monkey. Both were born in March. Of course I kept all of Willa's clothes, but now Sonja is in 6-9 month sized clothes, which are all fall/winter clothes! By winter she's going to be wearing sundresses! I can't believe I'm going to have to buy her more clothes.

Oh, and congrats to Amy too!!
