 I'm waiting for the movers to get here with all our stuff....then the fun of unpacking begins!

 I have obedience class this morning. Then gotta come home and get the house ready for the birthday party which I should have done yesterday. And then I gotta go back to town and pick up the cake and other goodies since it will be too hot to leave the pup in the car even for a few minutes. Ugh I wish I can cancel the last half of the day!

Glenda, from yesterday....Remember the movie Man on Fire?  There's a scene with Creasy and Pita where she is trying to get him to talk about his life...she asks if he has a girlfriend...he said something like:  Yes, her name is NUNYA...Nunya business.  ROFL...cracks me up.

Busy day here....have to take the mama to her beauty salon appt for her shampoo and set.  Run some errands...go to the shop and do some pay applications (billing) then hopefully there's time left over for party in the pool!    Oh, that reminds me...need to stop by Specs for Mojitas, my new favorite beverage.

DH has a very, very hard time understanding the shampoo and set thing.

NUNYA is actually what my oldest son tells me, very nicely, when I forget that he's an adult and I don't get to ask "who's on the phone" and stuff like that!

It's actually still pleasant here.  Only 76.  I think todays high is going to be upper 80's instead of upper 90's, so maybe I won't poach today.

Up early here. Not sure what woke me up at 5:30 but figured I might as well get up rather than toss and turn in bed. It cooled down nicely last night and is supposed to be high 90s instead of 104. That's not a huge difference but sounds better.

I'm going to go grocery shopping early and then come home and clean. I did bathrooms yesterday, so at least I've got that out of the way. I feel like cooking but I'm not sure what. I'm really craving fruit like crazy, so I'll pick up some of that at the store.

 Thunderstorm apparently equals movers sitting in their truck until the storm passes...theyve been here about 20 minutes and the severe thunderstorm warning is supposed to last until 10:15.

So I'm twiddling my fingers, the dogs are put up, and Maggie is upset because it is storming *and* there are strangers in the drive. *sigh*

I do not envy you today!  The ONE time I opted for the whole packing/unpacking service was when my oldest son was just a few months old and once they had UNpacked, life was a major mess.  When I unpack, I put things where I want them...when THEY unpacked stuff just got stacked everywhere!

A tip about unpacking??  Do it at your leisure.  Since your DH has already been living in the house, you've got the basics already.  Have the guys stack boxes out of the way in the proper rooms and get to it when you get to it.  I'm guessing that there is absolutely nothing earth shattering essential in ANY of those boxes and there is NO huge rush to get it done.  I always want to get it done and out of the way and try to kill myself doing it, but, there is nothing that won't wait, so DO NOT kill yourself.

Cathy, I feel like cooking too.  But, it's too danged hot to lit a propane stove in an RV!!  Good rationale for not cooking even more stuff to put in the freezer!!

Had a spectacular thunderstorm roll in just before 2 am, it was behind the house, and even though I wanted it overhead because we can use the rain, it was fantastic to just sit on the back stoop and watch the lightning and feel the cool breeze. Another one moved in after I gave up and went to bed.

Went to the garden, picked tons of tomato's, have to go back and till and re stake my tomato's later.

Going to the movies with my neighbor.

Finally got a good night's sleep.  The little stray pup has accepted the fact that crying pitifully, howling like a banshee, barking like a maniac and whimpering like a lost soul won't get her out of the crate. lol  

Out of town guests are now out of our town. I need to get outside and do yardwork before it gets too hot.

Erin, I hope the storm passes sooner rather than later and you can get things moving.......

Could any of you have passed up this tiny puppy (3lbs and estimated 8 weeks) I found sitting in the middle of the street as cars passed by on either side of her?  I doubt it.  She'll be here until a few minor medical issues are cleared up and then hopefully a home will be found soon for the little imp.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, she's so CUTE!  I'm glad you found her.

Nothing big planned for today.  I'm fostering my cousin's chihuahua until she can move to an apartment that allows dogs.  I may work on her leash-walking with her today.

OMG Jackie - she's absolutely adorable and how you're managing to not cave in to her whining and whimpering...well, you're way tougher than I am. How did that sweet little puppy end up lost in the middle of traffic? I'm so glad that you were there to rescue her.

We need a storm, or something.  I'm sitting in my den, the coolest/darkest room of the house, with a fan on me, and it's 90.1 degrees here on the couch! (put my bike computer on the couch and let it re-calculate the temp)
