Saturday chat

OMG, Jackie, what a cute little babe!!!  Thank you for rescuing her!!!  I know you'll find her a great home once she's ready.

Hot & humid today.  We had some crazy storms last night.  Lots of rain (woot!).

Taking a short break before returning to cleaning the house.  Downstairs is dusted, kitchen & bathroom clean.  On to the upstairs dusting & bathrooms, then the floors.  I wonder how many times I'll have to empty the dog hair from Mr. Dyson....  My bet is there'll be enough hair to make at least 2 more BBDs, lol.

    Stay cool, everyone!

ohhhh Jackie, she is so adorable! Thank you for rescuing her. You must have some serious puppy armor because she would be really hard to resist keeping.

It's hot and humid today. I need to get my yard work done but I'm hiding out in the AC being a wuss instead.

Yeah, that would take some serious resistence skills. lol Is there something going on with her right ear?

I got up and decided I should run Gracie early before it gets too hot.  Didn't bother taking a shower.  Hot guy was there at the park, with his beautiful girlfriend.  Luckily, some other oddballs like me were there - really good-sized group.  English Bulldog, French Bulldog, Bull Terrier, Lab, Schipperke mix, two Lahsas, a Heeler mix, and us.  We were there for over an hour.  Then went to the grocery store, now getting ready to roast myself like a rotisserie chicken out back.  AAAHHHHH, summer in the city.

In my local craigslist, pets needing homes, is: "a Miniature Doberman and Dotson Mix" - FOR THE LOVE OF CHRISTMAS!  Angry

My hands smell like salmon cat food.. Lol! I got a bag given to me and since Kameo doesn't eat that stuff, I decided to use it for dog treats!  Maze loves it! Which is good cuz she's picky.  So now since she's on limited exercise until we can figure out what's going on, I'm working on her leash manners since they are severely lacking. I know my fault!

I'm hungry but really don't want toast.. *sigh* Can't wait til I can go shopping....

OMG - that's too funny. Are people really that ignorant?

At least they aren't calling it a dobertsen and asking $2k :)

Finished my errands.  Picked up Mom from the salon and the gal who does her hair (and has been a huge help) announced to me that today is her last day.  **sigh**  This gal has been super, and we trade off weeks getting Mom to the salon.  She actually comes to the house and picks mom up and takes her in to the salon; and sometimes to get her nails done.  Well, no more of that.  Although, she did say that she will come by once a month to take Mom to get her nails done.  That's really nice of her....but I won't be surprised if that doesn't happen.

Just heard from DD....she recently went through an interview process for a mangerial role at the store where she works.  She got the job!  Great news for her...I'm very excited.

Not sure what the rest of the day holds for us.  We talked about going out tonight...but DH JUST finished doing yard work.  I'm thinking maybe we just hang here and party hardy amoungst ourselves.  I'm a bit depressed today...I think I need an attitude adjustment.

Maybe the puppy I found is a mini doberman x dotson mix!  Wink

We took the dogs to the park this morning but we got a late start and couldn't stay long due to the heat.  We took the puppy too and she had her first leash experience. She had a great time trying to keep up with the big dogs. lol   Paige, sharp eye you've got.  She has some ringworm going on but we're treating it and taking the necessary precautions.

We've been trying to go to a new (to us) restaraunt every Saturday but we're having trouble deciding where to go today.  It's so hot out the temptation to stay home and vegatate is strong.

Erin, I think that's very strange that the movers are still in the truck.   I can understand them not wanting to get out in the storm or maybe like you said they aren't allowed due to company policy.  I would have thought they could at least come to the door and explain why they can't move stuff yet.

oooooooooo Jackie that puppy IS cute!  I'm sure you'll help her find a great home Big Smile

    Now I have a newsflash.....................

     IT IS RAINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is very pleasing - I think our last measurable rain was in early June - everything was wilted and wildlife was fairly desperate and very present.  This should help to send them back to the natural areas.

been to Costco was a zoo. And that is about it for today.  DH says he wants to eat out, I'd rather eat in.  He usually wins these things

Considering the thing is a Miniature Pinscher/Dachshund mix... the fact that "dobe" would be anywhere in the name is punishable by fingernails removed with pliers  And tongue pulled out and stabbed with a blunt butter knife.

Also, HBO Family just played some really lame cartoon movie called Fern Gully... and it's waaayy too much like Avatar.  Swap "aliens" on some other planet for pixies, and it's basically the same - the tree, the spirit that upholds the lifestyle, the evil machinery to destroy the tree, etc.  1992 movie.

So the movers did get started as soon as the warning expired - they can't work if there's lightning and considering that there was a strike **two** houses down shortly after I posted last, I totally understand.

It took them 4.5 hours to pack our entire house and just under 2 hours to unload the truck this morning! Surprise Plus the total cost was $500 **under** the quote! Yes

They left around noon and I just got done doing some unpacking - clothes are all in the closet, the bed is made up, the living room is all set up for the most part, and the dogs have all found their dog beds and new resting spots.  I feel quite productive!

DH was still in SC today to make sure things got cleaned up before our rental walkthrough.  The landlord is going to take a bit out of our deposit due to some marks on the wall and carpet, but we should be getting most of it back thankfully!  DH called around 3pm and said he'd be here in NC by 7ish.  Yay for the end of the long distance relationship thing!!!! Big Smile

Sounds like everyone is having a decent/good Saturday - here's to a continued great weekend for all!

*sigh* Just a rainy, gloomy boring day. I'm still halfway in my pjs! LOL. Ah well, it's my day off. So disappointed that I didn't get to go to my aunt and uncle's camp ground though. Thanks weather! I really appreciate it. Poor Daisy is having cardiac arrest with all the thunder. The power went out for a moment too, so I decided not to hit the gym, in fear of being of a threadmill shutting off and me flying into the screen. Not really, but it's an excuse, right?

Give meeee that puppyyyy! So cute!

Today is all about me! Got an awesome pedicure and got my lip/brows waxed! I let my lip and brows get way to hairy. Now relaxing, I was supposed to take Tootsie to the groomers, but I'll do it tomorrow.

     Stay cool everyone.

Blarg. I left work early, and have been asleep on the couch all afternoon. My kitties woke me, wanting their bottle.

Jackie, that puppy is ridiculously cute.

I rebelled today.  For two months I have been climbing into bed and crawling over to my side because all the "stuff" was on my side of the bed.  If I needed to get into the closet, same thing.....climb, crawl and then stand up on the bed.

So, the dog food bin is in the big closet, the two gigantic dog beds are in a storage compartment, and the laundry hamper is in the shower stall.  I would rather move that, along with the catfood bin when I shower, rather than continue the climb and crawl stuff.  And, as a bonus, DH can't claim that he "can't get to" my side of the bed to properly make the bed.  (sticking tongue out and nanny, nanny, boo booing!!)
