    TGIFriday chit-chat

    From Thursday:

    CoBuHe
Rain, rain go away....no iron skilleting of sons today.  Stick out tongue

Much better, Barb.  I knew you could do it!

I did not have to whack my DS yesterday.  There is a teeny-tiny chance he's realized he'd best not test my limits.

It's still humid and warm here.

Hopefully the neighboring business will not be jack-hammering the sidewalk out front again today.  We're in a downtown area, all connected, so my teeth were starting to vibrate after about 3 hours.

Good job, health, and no spider vibes to all!

    Back later.

Morning all.  Tina, I came very close to beating MY DS with the cast iron skillet.  Guess it was my turn to have a jerk for a son.  Todd will be home this evening so all will be well.

    Good morning everyone!

TGIF!!!!!!! Although I'm having to work all day, it will be a good day... right?

Sometimes, I really wonder what my neighbors must think of me. I talk/argue to myself continously (even when walking outside) or to Ari (which is better than just to myself haha). I walk Ari in my PJ's and just now I let out a HUGE "Whooo hooo! I rock!", because I finalized a huge project for work that I was seriously scared wasn't going to come together in time for my vacation. I didn't realize that my neighbor was right outside (I live in condo units). She got a good chuckle and so did I!

I worked 13 hours yesterday and I've already worked 3 1/2 today. Ugh. Trying to cover for someone on vacation, plus your work, PLUS tidied up your work load for YOUR own vacation is NOT fun. Tonight there will be copious amount of wine consumed. Mmm Barefoot Moscato wine.....

     TGIF!

We got our workshop stuff done yesterday so we don't have to meet again today. THANK GOD. Now I'm back in the office. It's nice and quiet and I can work at my own pace today instead of trying to multi task a zillion things.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. I have a friend coming to hang out, which we haven't done in a long time.

My ears are still all plugged up and my head is still a bit dizzy. That isn't making life much fun but I'm trying to deal.

I read about all of the skillet hammering yesterday, too funny

It only made it to 91 yesterday.  I was tempted to put a sweater on.

I told everyone at work this morning that they need to get their own brains, as I was tired of them depending on mine.   I spend half my time reminding them to do what seems obvious to me.

    From yesterday:
    BEVOLASVEGAS
My MIL called, again.  I've talked to her 6 times today, & I was beginning to lose patience with her.  The last call was to let me know that I couldn't make plans for next Friday night because she had bought tickets for DH & I to go see Michael Buble, while she & FIL keep "our grandboys."  While the tickets are great, I was amazed that she claims the boys, who are not related to her at all, as her grandkids.  It just made me smile.

That totally makes me smile too.  I remember when I first met my hubby and I was still young and in college, I found out he had a bi-racial daughter.  It was no big deal to me but I was scared to death to tell my parent's.  Most of the rest of my family knew before they did.  It was a lot of worrying for nothing because they were more than accepting and have ever since treated her like their granddaughter.  I think, at least in a lot of cases, parent's are just happy to see that their kids are happy, and your DH is obviously very attached to the boys.  Now, I know not all parents are that way but I think you know what I am saying.  :)

Jewilee, you might want to go to the Dr.  There have been many times that I have gotten vertigo from either flying or even just the barometric pressure changing with the change of a season, usually from fall to winter for me.  I have always had that sort of rocky boat feeling when walking and nausea.  I always end up with a steroid for a few days as well as a strong antihistamine to help with the nausea and then the direct me to take claritin or zyrtec daily.  It is always related to drainage for me but you might not get relief until you see a Dr for it.  I hope you feel better soon.  It seems like it has been going on for over a week now!

I have to worst cramps today.  I am so glad it is Friday though.  I am leaving at lunchtime like I always do on Fridays and we are meeting some friends and their son who is just a little older than Devin for dinner.  Should be interesting to say the least!  I have a bunch of errands to run this afternoon but none of them are fun errands so I may put them off for another week.  Otherwise, I will have a nice weekend filled with lots of time in the bathroom talking about poo poo and tee tee in the potty!  hehehe

RAIN, omg it finally came, praise be. And it is still raining. I am happy.

I am currently lighting fires and using big big scary words with an insurance company. I am not well liked at the moment, but to bad, so sad.

    Background:

I have been having issues with a well known company for over 45 days. They are not paying us our contracted rate. They are short 3.50, not a lot, unless you multiply that by 1000 claims ( and several Dr. offices from what I understand). I contacted them on May 12 and they promised me it would be fixed. Yeah, right. So this morning I was entering payments in and I finally had enough. I had a patient with 2 different dates of service, one is paid correctly, the other incorrectly.....ON THE SAME FLIPPING CHECK!? This has been an ongoing problem over the past 5 years.

I made a few phone calls. Then I called the company contact that I spoke with in May. This is how it went:

Me: Good morning, this is Dawn with so and so and I have to inform you that as of this morning I have been advised to contact the Attorney Generals office to open a  FRAUD, RACKETEERING, BAD FAITH, investigation into your company. I have also been advised to hire a lawyer and open and start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT in the state of Kentucky against your company.

The Contact: I am very sorry to hear that, can I ask you to wait on the call while I find the director?

Me: You have until Monday morning at 8am to have this fixed and my incorrectly paid claims reprocessed, we will not give you the information on who and what claims are paid wrong, I was assured that you could and would fix this issue. We have retained counsel and a motion will be put before the court on Monday.

The Contact: Please, I will have someone call you immediately.

Me: Sure, but the information that I gave you stands. Unfortunately we have been more than understanding. It is apparent that you do not care to fix this issue, nor do you care that not only are you not paying us correctly AS PROMISED, you require us to do the foot work to get the claims reprocessed correctly. That will no longer happen. You have until Monday morning.

The Contact: I understand, I will have someone call you.

Me: Thank you, have a great weekend.

I am such a witch. And you know what, I wasn't even lying. I have already called the AG, and the court is on Monday's agenda.

    Poor poor insurance company.

Ugh!  We go there in three weeks.  I really hope we can still go on the beaches by then.  We haven't been to the beach since our honeymoon in 2004 and I really want Devin to get to experience it!  I hope that you guys have lots of fun!

Sarah, I went to the doc on tues and its pretty much the same as what you go through. Its related to drainage (or lack there of!) And the weather. I'm taking clariton d and a nasal spray plus doing some exercises to try to open up the ear canal. Its not really helping too much though. :(

Ugh Dawn - I honestly would love to see y'all take down an insurer!

Jackie that is too funny - and I can just imagine

    Deb 91* brrrrrrrrrrr

Something is very wrong with Bugsy.........................when I was doing poop patrol I found the motherload of fresh deer poop...........UNTOUCHED by the beast.  LOL I am sooooooooooo glad he didn't find it first

OK I've just finished putting together a brochure to send to the City of Durham introducing me and my company so they call - I'll post the screen captures in a separate thread - please have a look and see what you think.  Hoping they are legible this way.

Using the vistaprint software it is hard to see typos/grammar etc so I always like to have additional eyes check it out.  Thanks

That's all.........still no rain here, 60% chance tomorrow...........please, please, please

Still hot - a bit of a reprieve tomorrow than mid-upper 90's again all next week.   Gracious me you would think it was July or August.  Oh yea it is Wink

    Dawn, you are my idol.

Good job, Dawn.  Too bad your employers don't recognize that you are a valuable asset and give you a huge raise, instead of letting you go.

Amanda and Sarah, go to Rockport or Port A.   No oil, great beaches and lots to do in both areas.  Check out the Aransas Wildlife Refuge if you haven't been.  It's about an hour North of Rockport and is one of my favorite places.
