    your favorite toys

I'm finally going to have a dog that likes toys!!  And I see dog.com is having a toy sale... so, what are your favorite toys?  Bella is  a little taller and longer than Roscoe, skinny at about 60 pounds, and 18 months old. She loves to chew, wrestle, and chase.

I'm getting Kongs, of course.  Probably a cuz and a couple stuffies.  What else & what size do you think??  [:D]

I took a look around dog.com but they really don't have much choice to choose from.  Though it's funny how when JJ was weeks old, she love playing around with a empty tissue roll rather then a puppy kong.  Lately I also realize that JJ know what toy is new and what is old.  I put out a new toy on my bed and she used her tiny paws to move it off the bed.  Soo cute!!  I didn't think I have to buy toys no more because she rarely plays with it unless I play with her.  Though she does if it's a NEW ONE!  She's a stinky butt!!!  [:)]

Bailey and Minnie LOVED the giggler lion I got, they still fight over it even though they ripped the sound maker out... Im going to order a few more because they only reason they ripped it is because they were fighting over it.  Bailey loves the shark that sounds like water bubbling.

They also love the carrot, the fight over that... the I-cube (mainly the balls) and the hide-a-squirrel.

She also has the little planter ones, the baby seal, the eggplant, omg a ton... but I say get a giggler!

Oh yeah and those long bodies, I think she has the duck, she likes that too.

Riley loves the Hide a Squirrel and he likes [linkhttp://www.dog.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=311135+BEA&Cat=Super%20Values]http://www.dog.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=311135+BEA&Cat=Super%20Values[/link], but that might be too small, but something along those lines because Riley and Sam go crazy for tugging this together ... one grabs the toy end and one grabs the rope loop end ... keeps them very busy.

    LOL Gina!

I don't think dog.com has this but it's Boomers favorite - barely beating out the Bad Cuz. And it's my favorite because it's SILENT!! [:D] [linkhttp://www.dogtoys.com/dogactiontoy.html]http://www.dogtoys.com/dogactiontoy.html[/link]

Rory is a chewer and a wrestler too. Her favorite toys are the nylabones that dont break into peices, the tire toy witha rope attached so we can play tug of war, and long ropes that she can shake and tear at. She also loves cow hoofs!

Max loves anything  that he can fit his mouth around and that squeaks ... the louder and more ear piercing the squeak, the better he likes it.[:D]

I just checked out the sale items, I'm fighting not to buy. I will not buy. I will not buy. I don't think it's working.

Anything with a long tail, or long, floppy arms and legs. She "kills" them over and over and then of course there is the Parade Around With A Toy In Your Mouth game when she is happy to see me. ("Mommy! Look what I killed for you!") Squeakers are a definite attraction. And catnip!! She loves that little hedgehog toy that has catnip inside it. She stole TWO of them from Kittymaomoa, the cat we used to live with.

Any of those kid stuffed toys that have a music thinger inside, so that she'll figure out how to make it "sing" by poking or biting it in just the right place, and then will go crazy over it. We had "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" sung in an annoying chipmunk voice constantly until another neighbor dog bit it and crunched the music thinger. ("Thinger" is my word for anything there really isn't a word for, or that I can remember the word for. Like, what's that thing you serve pie with? It's the pie thinger, of course!)

Socks. She loves to both parade and kill my socks. It's the only thing she's played tug with, too. [&:] I doubt dog.com has any of my socks for sale, though. A kitchen towel is good, too, in a pinch.

Sofia is not a chewer, thinks the giggle ball is intriguing, but not worth chasing. She never commits stufficide. She loves the birdies from the Hide-a-Bird!

What she REALLY wants is a real squirrel....[;)] Once again, I think dog.com just might have trouble shipping that one.

I just got Zoe the hideasquirrel and she LOVES it!  It is much cheaper on dog.com than in stores and you can pricematch it on there even because I believe it is cheaper on another of my fave dog ordering sites... PM me for where if you're interested since I feel it would be wrong to post for everyone :) since dog.com is our host.

She also likes the smaller toys that fit nicely for a small dog so that is not much help for you I suppose.  Maybe a rope toy?  Walmart has cheap toys for 88 cents in a variety of styles and honestly, they seem to last us the longest.  So maybe get some of them to see what she likes best.  They have them in the dog aisle and by the checkouts.

The cuz is among Pofi's very most favorite toys...he loves them enough to not chew off the feet.  He has a Large and Medium, but Mia recently made the Medium an amputee....But he runs around the yard squeaking and squeaking those things with clear and infectious delight.

His most favorite toy is his latex squeaky chameleon made by Animal Planet.  Most dogs would shred it, but he loves the way it squeaks and it's tongue and tail unfurl AND it's great for shaking cause it's so wobbly.

And, much like Sofia, socks or stuffies with long swingy legs or tails are a huge hit.  The stuffies will eventually be disemboweled, of course, but they are great fun for a while.

This spider had a squeaky in each of it's 8 legs and a grunting noise maker in the body - it was a huge hit with both dogs - lasted for about 4 days.  There's still a leg or two left....

edited to add:  With the cuz, you could try medium, because it might fit her mouth better, but with the large, I'd be really suprised if the legs got chewed of on it.  NOT the small - it wouldn't last with a dog her size!

We have lots of favorite toys around here but the most favorite of them all seem to be the sheepskin ones...I especially like the ones that have an unusual squeeker, like the monkey that makes monkey noises or the frogs that go ribit ribit ribit.....even after these toys have been amputated and met their demise, we pull the stuffing out and give them the shell and they are some of the favorites ever!!!  I have had to hide two different shells from Izzy that we got that were destuffed adn desqueeked that she absolutely loved more than anything else once they got this this gnasty, hole ridden place...

There are tons of great toys out there and the sheepskin type toys that have lasted us the longest are the ones that have no stuffing or squeekers....My dogs also like any toy that is long, lanky and good to shake with lots of appendiges (s/p?) going every which way!
