Mindless tuesday

    Mindless tuesday

I'm so sleepy! Coffee is required.

Last night turned out really nice. And ms. Jackie, I do too know how to relax ;p I took the dogs for a hike, worked out at the gym, went shopping for fresh veggies and then came home and watched tv. All that took the edge off my pms-y attitude. Thank god.

Today I have a very annoying meeting with some...... people. I have a can on my desk labeled "can of stupidity". I should set it on the table in the middle of the meeting room.

I think I have a free night tonight. Maybe I will finally do some weed whacking. I should just hire someone and be done with it really

Happy news about Slim the chocolate lab!  He's ready to be adopted!  Here's the article: http://www.themorningsun.com/articles/2010/06/15/news/srv0000008520051.txt

Paige, your point from yesterday is duly noted.  Sometimes I think too much.

Moose the cat isn't feeling well today, I assume a reaction to his shots.  He didn't want to eat breakfast, but I hand-fed him some cooked chicken, which he ate a bit of.  Yes, I have a cat who will take food from my fingers like a dog would.

    Not much else for now.

Woohoo Slim looks awesome and so happy!

happy to report that I saw my itsy bitsy baby box turtle again this morning- although concerned that he is living in the lawn and will be mowed at some point or scooped up by a crow, hawk or other bird if he keeps hopping on top of the grass and exposing himself to the world.  Circle of life I suppose

Busy day again today - sure wish a slow day would come my way

I remain unconvinced that B's knees are healthy.  I've decided I am going to do our normal routine of running, biking, hiking and see how it goes.  If the surgeon is right and he is 'healthy' than it shouldn't be a problem.

Have a good day all -

Good thots for Moose.  And yes, Tina, sometimes you do overthing stuff.  While I've been there myself and can totally relate to the hesitation, this old broads advise is to go for it and enjoy!

I guess we all have our own form of relaxing Julie.  Now mine would be a nice glass of wine and a good book, but......

We got a wonderful break from the heat yesterday.  It was 96 at noon...felt like 106, and then it clouded all up, we had some thunder and a few drops of rain.  Not enough to really cool things off, but, it stayed cloudy all day so we didn't have that brutal sun beating down on us so it felt a bit cooler, and there was a breeze.  Humid as heck, but not so unbearable without the sun.  I'll take whatever I can get when it gets this blasted hot!

Feeling really upbeat and positive today for some reason.  And keeping Paige in our thots and prayers for employment NOW.  Us too of course!

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Dropped Sneakers off at the vet for his neuter. Party!!! I'm planning on enjoying a nice, quiet day! They said to pick him up between 3 and 5... I'm thinking I'm waiting until closer to 5! Love him to death... but man - I can't wait until he's out of here!

Can I borrow your can of stupidity for a meeting I have on Tuesday?

I have just written a whole entire paragraph of my paper that is due to tomorrow night. Blah. I so don't want to do it. I was told to resubmit something I have already done in the past. I don't like that, because I know that it means it has to be really good, because I should have already gotten feedback on this project. I also have to reformat it. I'm going with something I think I would like to maybe present next year. I figure in that case, I should probably get as much feedback on this as I can.

I'm so sleepy that I got to D&D, ordered coffee at the drive through, paid for it, and drove away without it. Yes, really.... that out of it today. wow, embarrassing.

Got my home spring water fed system test results today and it tested positive for "Total Coliform" whatever that is, it's not good, and the landlord "really isnt' concerned". BIG SIGH Shopping for filtration systems now... any suggestions?

Really need the school year to be over, now. Off to interview candidates for my secretary for next year... cross your fingers :)

Great job vibes still streaming for Glenda and Paige!!

I am so excited!  I lost another 2 pounds!  Woot!

ETA:  Amanda, I'm glad you went to see your grandmother, even though drama ensued...but you knew it would so were prepared, I'm sure.  Dang, its always good when the police are on your side.  Wink  Sending good thoughts to your grandmother as she goes through this.

Julie, somehow I just knew your idea of "relaxing" would be a bit more strenuous than mine. :)

I'm feeling decidely sick today and wish I hadn't needed to come in to work today.

I can't remember anything else to comment on except Amanda's post from yesterday.  ((((Amanda)))))  I'm so sorry about your grandmother.

Eli's leg was very sore this morning...no idea why. Perhaps swimming last night or sleeping wrong...or just growing. But he hardly ever complains about pain so having him say "ow" every time he steps was concerning. Pronounced limp on the way to school so we came home. He was not happy..he HATES missing school.

I gave him some Tylenol and he's moving around a bit now...says it feels better but is still limping. Hoping he feels better after a restful day. Wondering if we should keep him from swimming tonight too...

Kittens are all eating wet food now, no more bottle...big step. They're all so cute and playful now, about 4-5 weeks old.

My Mom came back from California last night, was in time for the funeral for my Gma's man...she was so happy to be able to be there. Apparently he had an unstable son who tried to kill himself the night before the funeral so that added some stress. He stabbed himself and ended up in the hospital. The rest of my Gma's man's family is about as much use as teats on a boar so here's to hoping the decide to watch out for their brother. The will situation looks messy and likely will be a headache. *sigh*.

    Hope everyone's Tuesday goes well!

What's that song where they're singing no drama? I think it's that weird no humps song, but anyway, I only know the version that Alanis Morrisette sings. Either way, I wish everyone no drama today.

I have to go for my stupid dress fitting in a few minutes. Can you tell how much I love this?  At the very least, I hope to have time to go to the Chinese Buffet afterwords. They have a round grill at the one right beside the store.

I have a project due today, & I'm nowhere near done with it.  I'll get it finished somehow, I always do.

Cher is being a turd.  Someone else in the office has a new boxer mix puppy, who Cher is madly in love with.  They were playing earlier, but I needed to get to work, & I don't let Cher wander free because she loves to get into trouble.  Now, she is sitting at my office door whining to go back out to play.

I meant to mention two interesting things I read/watched yesterday.  An article by David Freedman about scientific studies and why we need to be careful about jumping on the bandwagon of some new idea based on a study, even from the most reputable of organizations/colleges.  He has a new book called 'Wrong" and I might have to get it.  I get so annoyed when people tell me they are now avoiding this or that because of a study they read or heard about.  Then you hear the next study done by someone else refuting the first study.  The other interesting thing was a youtube talk about "patternicity".   Here's the link.  http://www.ted.com/talks/michael_shermer_the_pattern_behind_self_deception.html  It's a talk concerning "self deception" and I found it very interesting.

Me too Jackie. If you get the book, let me know what you think of it.  Oh, and I'm sorry you're not feeling well today. Hope the day gets better.

Amanda - I read your post from last night and I'm very sorry about your grandma. Don't let your mom dissuade you from doing what you feel is best for you or your grandma though. You'll only regret it later.  (((HUGS)))

Our temps dropped last night and today should only be 80ish. Nice.

I didn't sleep well last night and am draggin my wagon today. I've finished my 2nd cup of coffee and still feel like I could curl up and go to sleep. Sleep
