Chattin' on a Monday

    Chattin' on a Monday

So my guy friend and I finally connected via phone and he invited me down for 4th of July weekend.  We both get a 3-day weekend as Monday the 5th is a federal holiday.  We will probably go out on his boat and then who knows? I'm excited and nervous all at once.

Deb, how was the Yankees game?  And please tell me what a "dirty dog" is.

Which reminds me, I have the perfect sister for Jamison.  She is a mostly red & white beagle at the shelter.  She's very sweet and has the softest fur.  She's listed as 2 years old, but I'm guessing she's just a year.  She still has the pink and brown spotted puppy belly.

Tina, that sounds awesome. Have fun!

We just got back from a(nother) weekend away. Phew. Picked Rascal up from doggy daycare/boarding and they said he was really good - when one of the workers carried him from the back room to the front, he was wiggling and trying to climb up her shoulders to lick all over her face. Awww.

Our friends that we visited this weekend have a big mutt dog that looks like a German Shepherd/Chow Chow mix. Soooo pretty. I really, really want a big, fuzzy dog! Some day, some day...

Hope everyone is doing well :) I'll try to take some time and catch up on the MC threads now...

So, Shammy??  What happened to waiting until spring when school is out?  LOL!  Man plans, woman does!

I'm in a great mood today.  And, it'll likely stay that way unless the heat soars too badly.

I was able to grocery shop yesterday. What a treat that was!!  Got through to the state this morning in less than an hour.  Someone was actually working on my case on SATURDAY????  Which is why benefits showed up on Sunday and in fact more will be applied within 2-10 days.  Major relief on that front.  I hate being in this position and having to even get assistance.

The guys DH met with last week will be back from vacation on Wed, so hopefully we will hear something this week.  Something VERY good!

Still cringing at the thot of Mr. Amanda's nipple.....and sadly, he probably won't learn to listen in the first place even now.  I still think he needs a Madonna style brazziere, or at the very least, chain mail.  I'm betting Amanda's 'kinky' store carries something to protect the boys from the vicious pup!  LOL!  AND, I'm betting that would spice up the cooking just a tad!

Paige, got fingers and toes crossed for you that you get a job this week.  Good vibes to all who need them.  Have an awesome Monday all!

A house without fur is not a home.

I've got my feet crossed for you this morning Glenda.

So I started looking at some PhD programs last night. I think that's what I want to do, but also, anything I consider for a long time, I end up not doing it. So, I am worried about going to visit any of them. At least though, I am picking places I might want to visit primarily based on impulse.

If I can  roller blade, I can ice skate, right?

I would have just pierced Mr. Amanda's nipple while at the plastic surgeons and killed two birds with one stone.

    Tina  . . . . . Nice !!!!

I had so much fun at the Yankee game.  I didn't know it, but Mr. W got us tickets in the Jack Daniel's seating area, so we had our own bar !!!!!  Then we went to Sylvia's for dinner which is THE place to go in the tri-state area for soul food.  I even got to meet Miss Sylvia, who is like 9 thousand years old.  It was quite an honor.

Mr. W got 2.97 close to being 3 sheets to the wind on Saturday - he was so freaking funny.  Good thing we took the train and didn't drive.

From the "Citydictionary" Dirty Water Dogs:

The infamous NYC street vendor hot dog, generally Sabrett's brand shoved haphazardly into a soggy bun and topped with a variety of gloppy condiments. The consumption of this NYC grab-and-go staple is almost an urban rite of passage and the Manhattan version of Russian Roulette.

     Yea Tina!

good vibes for the job hunters

I just saw a mini turtle in the yard - just a ton of them about this year.  Turtles are very significant to me so I'm feeling like something really positive must be on the way

Off to Lowe's to buy some soil so i can plant my fig tree - pretty psyched about that too.  Although I read it can take 4 yrs to get figs - patience not one of my virtues LOL

record heat today so walked beastie real early - it is 10:16 and I feel lunch coming on ha ha

OK I had best go get the soil and get this tree planted

OMG - Kate and I were in the mall the other day getting pedi's and the girl was running a little behind so we went to go check out the puppies in the pet store (I know - I would never buy from there, but I like seeing the puppies).  Anyway, there was this super cute lil' female beagle who I swear stopped dead in her tracks and stared right into my eyes when I got in front of her cage.  Kate was like "Mom - it's a sign  . . . . we have to get her" !!!!!   I had to leave the store  . . . . I couldn't look at her anymore !!!!!

Yay Tina!  Very cool…don’t be nervous..just go to have fun with a friend.

Finally, the state assistance arrived Glenda….I know how relieved you must be.   I think you are right…surely, there is some kind of nipple protection at the “Amanda” store.  Aka the “Barb” store, aka the” Deb” store.

Deb…sitting in the Jack Daniels section requires that you leave the stadium 3 sheets to the wind.  I think he needs to go again and strive for perfection.  Stick out tongue

Thanks a lot Gina…. Music  ”Love.  Exciting and new.  Come aboard, we’re expecting youuuu."  Music  I am going to be stuck on this all day now.  LOL

I know what you mean Karen…I love fruit trees, but it does take quite a while for them to produce.  Maybe you should also plant something that gives you immediate results.  Get some tomatoe plants or something (?)

I'm at the office today through Thursday...Bleh.

Here's the link: she is on the right-hand side of the page, close to the bottom, the one with the girl holding her and it says her name is Kate and "she's sad at the shelter."  http://www.midmichiganadopt-a-pet.com/id15.html

Honestly, she's terrified inside the kennel and doesn't like the leash, so I took (carried) her outside and spent some time with her in a fenced area and she totally came out of her shell.  She flopped over on the grass for belly rubs and barked like a happy beagle.  The pic doesn't do her justice.

LOL - her name is Kate !!!!!  She's adorable.  If I weren't 100% certain that Mr. W would kill me if I brought another beagle home - I'd be doing some serious thinking on it !!

Tina, that weekend sounds fun!  The beagle sounds perfect for Deb but I have a feeling Jamison would pack his bags if he had any competition for Deb's attention. lol  The sauce was good but I only tasted it and then froze it.  Charles can't eat anything with seeds yet, so it will be for when he's eating a normal diet again.

Deb, glad you guys had a great time.  WTG, Mr. W! LOL

Glenda, here's hoping you hear something this week on the job.

I don't know if I told Paige congrats about Gracie but it can't hurt to repeat it!  Congrats!!

Karen, we had a fig tree when we were kids but I never did like them other than to throw the rotten ones at each other. Stick out tongue We weren't good about picking up the fallen fruit and it attratcted a lot of bees and wasps.  I'm not patient either when it comes to waiting for something to produce.

Hot and humid on tap here.  Charles has a doc appointment this afternoon.  I'm off to get some work done.

I'm annoyed with my boss today. Actually we are annoyed with each other so we are giving each other space. I just can't take the micromanagement today and am pushing back. Normally, I just roll with it, but today I'm not in the mood (and it's obvious she isn't either).

     I hope my mood improves.

I seem to be having the same issue with my boss on a regular basis lately. Not sure if it's him or me, but we seem to battle over some really petty stuff. I just found out last week that now he's not planning to retire until Dec 2011. He was supposed to retire a yr and a half ago. Crying He's on vacation all this week, so I'm celebrating that at least.

Tina - I am sooooooo excited for you. I hope you have an absolutely amazing time with your friend.

    Kate is so sweet Angel

I'm buried in work again, so off I go. Hope everyone has a nice day.
