So, I try to talk to  him asking him what he is upset about and I get the clammed up response.  MEN!

Ugh, BF does the same crap.  It's so annoying!

Jackie, I can smell your sauce from here (mmmmmm).  I'm on my way, lol!

Come over and we'll make some mojitos and I'll send Charles to your house

That sounds like a PLAN.  I'll be there in about 3 hours.  Charles and Rick can be pouty together...and I think Charles should pick up Amanda's DH on the way and they can all be pouty and whiny together.

It is quite tough living with others for so many reasons.  And, yep resentment does show its ugly face...so it can be hard.  You know I love her  very much and want the best for her...but we want our house, our life back.  She is so comfortable in her room and with this life she's had over the last 3 years (in September).  And, I created it.  So, it is really excruciating for me especially to think about other arrangements.  Now, if my sister in Austin who works from home and "has no life" (her words) would just woMAN up and offer to have Mom come live with her...that would be a dream.  But, life isn't that easy.

I've been contemplating an assisted living facility (one that has different levels of care)...but I just can't get up the "balls" (Ha Meg) to have the discussion with her.  That is very hard to do.

So, I forgot to say earlier that while I was at the grocery store earlier today in my mad rush to get it all done and get home to go have fun in the heat. ( Indifferent )  I got a big flirt from this kind gentleman on the dairy aisle.   I first noticed him studying a gallon of milk as I was picking mine up.  Then as I was walking off he walked past me and said "Looking good today."  OK, girls this may happen to you frequently, and it used to happen to me more often when I was younger.  So, I was taken aback for a second.  I turned to look at him and said "thank you."  ROFL.  And, we both went on our way.  After such a sucky time I was having....it was kind of flattering.  Not a bad looking guy either, probably younger than me...but all things considered...it did brighten up my bad mood slightly.  Horn dawg?  Perhaps.  But, the timing was good.

Bless you, you folks with gardens just don't have the same genes as I do -- I wouldnt' stick my fingers in Florida dirt (with bugs and snakes) for all the tea in China ...*shudder* (I'm just not Nature Girl *laughing*)

    I have a cold (given the last 2 weeks I'm not surprised - too tired+too stressed+too many allergens+too little sleep=DUH)

I have a ton to do but I"m just going to try to sleep this cold into oblivion so I can go to work tomorrow.  However, laundry isn't gonna wait.

crack of Dawn?  ummm TMI ~~  Let's talk instead about Dawn of Understanding, Dawn of enlighenment ... I have a friend with that first name and her maiden name was "Meadows".  So one of the professors at college used to call her "Morning Fields" lol

Ahh the angst some of us suffer with our names.

I slept in today, but I feel pretty productive any way - the kitchen/dining area is cleaned (I had stacks on the table and counter lol), I set up a Google Voice account for my new business (so yay I now have a local number for it and forwarding to my regular phone), and I was able to try out two new rugs in the bedroom to see if they will work in the new house (they will - yay!).

Now to work on the home office - bleg.

    Yes  Barb!

    Creepy story warning!
So last night I am awakened by DH saying, "Do you hear that?! DO YOU HEAR THAT?!" Omg, what is that? We hear this scratching sound right next to our heads. It sounds BIG. Is it in the walls? On the roof? I was disoriented from just being woken up, but I quickly figure out that SOMETHING is climbing up the side of the house. Our bedroom is on the 2nd story; our house has horizontal cedar siding. DH quickly closes and locks the window. Now we've had flying squirrels scamper across the siding before, but that's a quick, light scampering sound. This is climbing, not nearly as quick as a flying squirrel, but not really slow, either. It was so creepy.

DH went to the gun cabinet, unlocked it and loaded a gun. He grabbed a big flashlight and went outside. But by the time he got out there it was gone. I was so creeped out I had trouble sleeping. Opossum? Raccoon? Porcupine? Spiderman? Sasquatch? What kind of critter can climb straight up the side of a building? *shudders*

Jano I don't think Sasquatch can climb buildings - but my memory isn't that good.  Seriously that is a bit creepy but I would think that raccoons would be able to fairly easily.  Not sure what else - a bobcat?

Barb sorry about the grumpy Sunday - my DH is very moody and also does the clamp down won't talk.  Drives me BATTY! Personally I am convinced that men have a pseudo menopause in their 50's.

Jackie it's good that Charles wants to cook, he must be feeling well

Been out shopping, gracious it is hot.  So what does B do?  Well he goes out and lays in the sun on the deck Confused Bugs you have fur, it is dark brown and black which absorbs the heat, and you don't sweat.  Sunning is great when it is 25* not when it is 95*.  LOL he is back in now lying on the kitchen floor panting.  idiot.

It could have been a raccoon. http://www.unitedwildlife.com/AnimalsRaccoon.html#inattic

We do have bobcats around here though too. Eeeeeks!

We had an avacado fall on our roof once - rolled across the whole thing... sounded like there was a herd of elephants up there! crazy stuff.

WHY can't people understand that I need to have a day off? Why must they insist on calling me, and emailing me, about work when I'm NOT WORKING!

    • Gold Top Dog

Jackie, am I too late for dinner?

I was up at 0500 to feed the cats, but went back to bed.  If I had something other than dial-up at home, I may have started chat that early, but was not in the mood to wait.

Walked a ton of dogs today at the shelter.  We had a stray old lady boxer mix come in and she is the sweetest dog.  Also got one young beagle girl to come out of the kennel and spent some time with her out in the grass outside.  She hates the leash as much as she hates the kennel, but outside in a fenced area she was much happier.

    Not much else.

Way to go Barb at the grocery store!  You still got it going on.

    • Gold Top Dog

    YES I do.  LOL

Janice, I think it was Spiderman, which is bothersome in itself.  LOL.  Either that or a great big opossom.

DH and I had some great pool time.  We had pissy clam up time for a little bit, then attitudes started to soften a bit.  I so understand his frustration.  We had some pool talk...some hard discussion about the way it is.  We came to no conclusion, but at least dialogue was flowing.  Its not the first conversation we've had about the situation.  Its just hard, because we had such an enjoyable time over the last two weeks having the house to ourselves.

Getting ready to grill some steaks, make some baked potatoes and a side salad.  Yummy!

    bleh...we hit 101 today.  Almost 6:30 and it's still 97, feels like 106.

On a good note tho.....the state finally decided that maybe while they fiddle fart around with giving us MORE $ for food, that maybe they should give us SOME.  Just for spits and grins, called to check the card today, and, WHOA!!!  There is actually money on it.  So after the ear splitting trip to the laundramat, got to do the fun trek to WallyWorld and the regular grocery.  And a good time was had by all.......

    Copy cat.

Barb I am glad you and your DH had a talk.  Men and clamness must be a Y chromosome thing.

Janice, I have no answer and I am sorry you all were scared.

I'm tired.  Drove an hour, got there in time to do a smidge of warm-up, do our event, and we were done in a total of about 40 mins.  She got her third leg and 1st place again, so that title is done.  Not sure what will happen next, I don't like training by ourselves.  Although I did meet a nice lady who actually owns Dobes and lives practically around the corner from me.  We exchanged info and she even offered to give me a ride to the next trial, which was nice.  But that would just be for some more RAE legs.

Hope everyone had a decent Sunday.  I am not looking forward to Monday...

...is not flushing the toilet a Y chromosome thing too??

So, what is it about nascar races and poor dental care? I saw a lot of missing teeth today. Also, what is exciting about watching cars go around in a little loop 400 times? Its like watching a mouse in a running wheel for 3+ hours. I don't get it!
