Amanda, I just read the end of Friday's chat. I am so sorry about DHs hanging nipple. Ouch! But, hey...he got it reattached then went back to Cher to work on the other one.... LOL. Husbands are funny, sometimes. Is it high tolerance for pain? Or is it a short memory? Or is it love of the dog?

He adores Cher, & loves having a dobe who will play with him. He just hasn't quite figured out how to quit while he's ahead, & she's not moved into "land shark" mode.

Mr. Amanda.....do you possibly hail from West Virginia?

    LMAO! Nope, he's a Masshole.

Charles stayed home. Got home to discover him mowing the yard.

Normally, I'd call this a 2x4 moment, but I'd prefer you not crack Charles up side the head. Please hide the keys from him!

Karen, congrats on finishing the run, & then going back to help your DH finish!

Tina, I refer to him as "stupid" quite frequently. He's a sweetie, but he has "moments."

Cathy, congrats on the easy pool fix!

I took Cher to schutzhund training this morning. She did a great job on her tracks, & obedience went very well. She worked, balls to the wall, even though we were frying out there. I was thrilled at how well she performed even though she was obviously tired. We opted out of protection today, because I am not fond of the helper who was working. Cher is pooped! She's been content to curl up & nap since we got home. It's nice.

Woohoo! US v England ended 1-1 as I predicted.  I am exhausted and a little buzzed because we decided to stop at a pub to watch the first half LOL  When the US scored the whole place rocked all at once.  DH and the table of English next to us were very quiet Big Smile

I have no news on my Aunt - I wish my mom would contact me

Bugsy went into a depression when he saw our guest's luggage and when we left for the airport he refused to look at him  - ha ha ha - he is such a cheeky dog.  It was a pleasure having this guy visit and fun for me in that it was great to talk dog.  He was super impressed with B and also able to see that we (I) have done a ton of work with him to ensure that he is a manageable beast LOL

OK time to take my sinus headache for a nap.  It was a very late night plus DH's snoring and a 5 am start

I am tired and still have to do the dishes... *sigh*

Back from the vet (good news, update on Maggie's thread in Health), actually ate something since all I had was toast at 11am and it was 5:30 by the time I got home, and now I'm ensconced on the couch, Easton Corbin cd playing and enjoying a relaxing evening.  Ahhhhhhhhhhh....

Bevo is so smart.  I swear, he understands every word that I say.

I took him to Petsmart today to pick out his belated birthday gift.  He knows not to reach for things on the shelves, & he won't reach for anything, even when I'm not paying attention.  So, we are standing on the stuffie aisle.  I am looking, & Bev is sitting next to me, trying to resist temptation.  I looked over at him, & said "pick one out."  The look on his face was priceless.  He looked at me as if to ask "are you sure mom?"  Then he went in to inspect the stuffies up close.  After inspection, he turned around & was holding three stuffies in his mouth.  I died laughing at him & asked him "didn't I say one?"  His response was to turn back to the bin that he had gotten them from, & drop them back in.  Then he sniffed each one, & picked up the zebra.  When he turned back to me, he had "sad ears."  It was so pathetic that I told him to get all of them.  He scarfed the other two stuffies up, & happily pranced up to the checkout counter with all three in his mouth.  Then, he insisted on carrying them out himself.  I had, literally, a dozen comments about what a happy boy he was with his toys.

When we left petsmart, we went for a therapy visit at the children's hospital.  As much as he loved getting new stuffies, he enjoyed his visit much more.  He loves kids.

On the way home, we ran by Groovy Dog Bakery so that he could get a birthday cake, as well as some special "Bevo treats."  While we were there, he saw a pink ladybug stuffie that he was almost obsessed with.  He sat there gazing at it lovingly, & again, I couldn't say no, so I told him to get it.  Again, he was soooo happy to get the stuffie.

    He's such a funny dog.

He's a very cool, very smart dog who DOES understand what you say to him.  Bevo had a great day today!

99 degrees here and 78% humidity.  Blech.

OK, someone please, does this make any sense?  I taked to the state on Tuesday.  Someone had made a mistake and the guy I spoke with fixed it, sent it to his supervisor, who determined that we should have MORE money.  I got two letters dated Wed yesterday.  One said that they were putting a temp hold on the account because we might need more $$.  The other said that we were getting more money.  So....how come I still have nothing on the card after talking to them again yesterday and being promised it would be there today??  Why the heck if you determine that someone needs MORE $ for food do you just give them NONE???  If we were slimeballs, we'd know all the places that give away food and such, but as it is.........sigh.  I see another series of phone calls on Monday (you have to go through a LOT of stuff before you can get sent to the operator and then you usually get a recording that due to unusually high call volume, please try to call again later......bleh!

The good news though is that the chance of rain has been increased for tomorrow!!!  Yippppeeee.  Maybe some cooler weather in store for us!

Is that 75 farenheit or celcius??

I'd KILL for 75 at this point!

I hate when people judge over silly things. We stopped by the feed store to grab an ID tag for Newt. We've been meaning to get one online, but since I haven't gotten around to it yet, I figured she needs some sort of ID. So, filled out the little paper for the person to make the tag. We'd decided on "Newt, the tiny poodle" on the front. One, because she comes to 'tiny poodle' just as much as Newt; Two, we refer to her as the tiny poodle ("where's the tiny poodle?";) and Three..it's just cute.   The woman got all sorts of judgemental about itHmm

Seriously? It's a dog tag....it's there to hold our phone number in case she wanders off.   The lad got all sorts of offended that she was so rudeStick out tongue

On the upside, Newt looks very cute in her little purple tag.

What a great day today!  Despite the ridiculous heat & humidity, it was a wonderful day.  A couple we're friends with came over this afternoon, with their baby girl & their 2 boxers (one is the one with cancer, Harry's buddy).  All the dogs had a blast playing together, especially once I set up their kiddie pool in the yard.  We grilled out steaks for dinner, and they left about a half hour ago.  The boys are zonked out.

BF broke the Chuck It last night, so when I ran out to pick up a few things for dinner with our friends, I swung by Petco and bought a new one.  They've changed the design a bit since I last bought one, and this new design seems to be more pliable/flexible than our old one.  It's taken some getting used to; a couple times I almost whipped the ball over the fence!

Swap-bot has some new ridiculous requirements for hosting swaps.  Apparently I am one rating short of qualifying to host one, even though I've hosted in the past Hmm. I've sent an email to them to see if I can get an exemption.  I even already came up with a theme and typed up the info in a Word doc, so they'd better get back to me asap, darnit!  Soooo frustrating.

Both DH and I have done that on occasion.  Makes for a very confused Heidi.  Embarrassed  Thankfully, we always have a supply of balls...so we carry one.

What the hec is wrong with that feed store clerk.  You can put whatever you want on your tag.  Pass the 2x4.

Maybe that's the excuse the guy should have made when he used the Chuck-It to peg me in the face with a tennis ball. Meanwhile, my mom cannot remember the name and comes up with all kinds of ridiculous variables "Throw-me"?  Really, momn

I wish I'd had Bevo while out shopping today.  Gracie took 1st in her class so I did the usual reward shopping around the show, but she was *not* interested in anything.  She sniffed the antlers for a while, but refused to lick.  (I told the guy if she she licks it, she buys it, but she just sniffed intensely and ignored it after that.)  I even stopped at a higher end shop on thedrive back.  As soon as we came in, she saw the real LIVE cat and that was the only "toy" she wanted.  We had a salesperson hovering the whole time and no-go.  Nothing.  All she was interested in was the 99 cent greasy turkey patties.  *sigh*

So, I rewarded myself with an ice cream milkshake from Coldstone Creamery.  I rarely go there, and now I recall why.  It's wwaaaaayy too much for me.  I took about 8 sips and felt full.

Karen, glad your run went well for both you and your DH.  Big credit cupcakes to him for joining you when he's never done a 5K before, because of such an important cause.

It's been very cool and rainy since yesterday (like 50 degrees around noon today) and so Gracie and I are curled up on my sister's bed and she's groany and that makes me happy.  I *heart* her.  I think we both feel very snoozy - guess we won't be working on anything but resting for tomorrow.

Well, Amanda's DH only has 1 nipple, so who knows what your DH could carry one of!
