    Great to hear!

This will probably sound bad, but it's actually a pretty good thing in the long run that she was in neo natal for a couple nights, my friend's baby that was in the nicu for a week now sleeps through anything and everythign, no matter how noisy, because he got used to beeping noises constantly, machine noises and people.  you don't have to tip toe around him, and he;'s fine with whoever wants to pick him up, he doesn't make strange at all

i;m glad she's doing so well, though Smile

Moving in the right direction, thanks to the 2x4! Wink  Here's today's most recent updates:

She spent the night with me and went back to the unit for review and discharge this morning. She ripped out her nose tube last night and they didn't replace it as she was feeding so well. I think that was her way of saying she'd had enough! The bloods came back clear, no infection, so they took the iv out. She looks normal again! If it wasn't for her tummy button, where they drew blood from an artery, you'd never know she'd spent any time in special care, she's alert and well and feeding like a crocodile! A big thank you to you and all the folks at idog for your support!

    And:

They don't like sending babies straight home out of special care which is understandable, so its 24hrs obs and another review in the morning. As long as she stays like this, we should go home tomorrow :-)

There was no infection. Consultant thought maybe she inhaled fluid at birth, esp as she was born underwater, but i don't think thats likely as she didn't take a breath until several seconds after i had her in my arms (??) He also said sometimes the babys body kind reverts back to relying on the placenta for oxygen and that may have caused the problem. They don't know for sure what caused the problem but they are confident she is ok now.
