    Tuesday morning chit chat

Well Chuffy....had that baby yet?  I do hope it was easy and peaceful.

I am headed out of town today.  Destination: "The Cabin" or "Up North" or "The Lake".  Feel free to use whatever regionally appropriate phrase.  It is currently raining, but I'll be there until Sunday so I'm sure to get some good weather.  Be prepared for lots of pictures !   Get back from the cabin Sunday, then I turn around and fly to Baltimore Mon-Wed for work.  Power tool training with a major vendor !

You should see my mini-van !  Who needs a truck when you have an extended length mini van with Stow N Go seats ! Baily's crate is strapped to a pile of 8 foot deck boards!

Good baby vibes for Chuffy, Mr. Chuffy and little Will.

Good travels and jobjobjob vibes for Mr. and Mrs. Glenda.  Also glad the dogs are behaving and Sheba is healing.

    PaigePaigePaigejobjobjobnownownow

Little nekkid Wendy........you have it so good!  Now, go win over your new bro' Pirate with your cuteness.

Have a good week !!!!  And wish for no rain in NW Wisconsin  Smile

Have fun up north. I'm jealous of your stow n go seats. I can't imagine all the room you have.

I am headed to fort custer today. Its a national guard training facility. We are going to use it for sar training later this month so 2 of us are going to get a formal tour and get all the details of stuff we need to know like don't go in this area or you will get shot. That type of thing.

Of course, I need to get my lazy butt off the couch first. I'm so cozy right now with lily drapped across me, a down comforter and neiko resting his head on my shoulder. I could so go back to sleep.

No rain vibes for your trip, Mindy.

Not much happening here.  My beef stroganoff was good - DS ate the leftovers for his midnight snack.

Jackie, I hope Charles is settling back in and at least appreciates the 2-ply.

I've lost my train of thought, will be back if I find it.

I never could find Chuffys baby thread.

Sending very strong JOB now to Paige.  And of course to my hubby as well!

Today is his "explore the area" morning and then this afternoon he gets to play on the radio for a bit.  And hopefully sign some paperwork!!  He really likes these guys, and it seems that they like him, a LOT.  Their biggest concern is that he/we will hate the area and not want to stay.  You guys know me......I make the best of every situation and LIKE it!

Going to be miserable here today.  The AC is already on and it's going to stay on unless a miracle happens and it drops down into the low 70's from the upper 90's!!  Fans are strategically placed to maximize the blowing of cooler air from the back unit up front.  Where I *think* we are going, we probably won't even have to USE the AC.  That would be wonderful!  Today might be a good day to hit the pool!

Charles ate breakfast and was all comfy in his recliner when I left.  It's rainy and perfect weather for being lazy and napping which I bet he does a lot of today. lol  Wish I could join him but I'm at work. :(

Mindy, I hope you have a great time at the cabin and the weather improves.

Good job vibes to Paige and Glenda's DH!!!

I went to bed with a headache and woke up with one. It's one of those, not quite pounding, but ever present headaches. I went to bed very early too and slept straight through the night! Yuck.

Ari is currently snuggled up in bed, using a pillow and nestled into the blanket. I would really like to be my dog.

thanks for the link Jackie.  Is there another thread with pictures?  How do you guys know she had a girl??

In all the blood, gore and excitment, I completely forgot to mention that I stepped on the scale at the e vets office.....I've lost 15 pounds!  I thought some stuff was fitting a little looser!

I am so far behind on things I'll just say - vibes to all that need them, congrats to those that have had good things and hugs to those that have had sad things of late

I have been very busy and very distracted - I don't have a great idea of what day it is, what time it is and what I am supposed to be doing LOL  Need to get on the ball QUICKLY!

One of DH's friends is visiting from England  - he was a dog handler with the police for 20+ yrs and he is having a blast with Bugsy - which is mutual of course!  The visitor's daughter has been working at Disney for a year so she came up for the weekend and it has been great but crazy.  She left last night and the boys just headed to Myrtle Beach for a few days.  Bugsy is flat out now and may not move until the boys return LOL

The dog handler has said he has never met a dog like B and is fairly fascinated by him behaviorally and has commented on his physique a million times.  He can't get over his chest LOL.  It makes me feel better to see someone with his expertise and experience shaking his head in disbelief, sort of validates some of my novice assessment of him.  Oh and he isn't the sort of guy that would say things to please anyone - a bit like DH in that regard Wink  He did some tracking with B this morning and it was super fun to watch.

OK I suppose I should start figuring out what I am supposed to be doing before its too late

Well I got up at 8am this morning.. Not cool. But meh. I was gonna stay in bed longer but my hip and the cat said otherwise. So I'm gonna hop in the shower and enjoy my day off!

For those that aren't on FB, Sandy and I were involved with a DogSafe program in Pender Harbour yesterday.  We go to schools, parks, and BBQ's and do demo's for the kids as well as teaching them about safety around strange dogs. We also get requests from the Foster Kid's office here in town. It's alot of fun. The dogs enjoy it, the kids enjoy it and adults even enjoy it. Lol. Although I do need to buy sunscreen for Sandy as she burnt her ears a little bit. Too much suntanning on the side lines.

Today I'm gonna start rally training with one of the dogs. I'm thinking Sandy as she seems to enjoy it the most. Maze and I will be going to the park first thou so she doesn't feel left out.

I see Chuffy had a baby girl. I'm soooo happy for all of them and just know she's going to be as cute as Will is.

I spent the evening in the ER. I finished dinner and started having sharp pain on my lower right side. It was so bad that I was doubled over and could barely take any steps. I was sure it was my appendix, especially since I no longer have much left in the lower abdomen.  Anyway, after 3 hours in the ER, the dr. said bloodwork and urine looked okay, but I had a low grade fever and he didn't think it was my appendix but wanted to do a cat scan. The pain had gone from a 9 to about a 4 by then and I asked if I could just go home and see if it got worse and he seemed to think that'd be fine. When he came back with my discharge papers, he said "I think there's a 50/50 chance it's your appendix and you'll be back". He said if it was going to get worse, it would probably be within the next 12-24 hrs and I'm knocking on wood that other than a mild pain, it hasn't returned. I'm so swamped at work and there's literally no one to take over, so I was freaking out about another surgery. I didn't get to sleep until late, so I'm dragging today but need to get a bunch done just to keep up. Anyway, in case you've never been to the ER, all I can say is "wow!" it is not a fun place. It was packed with people and none of them looked like they needed to be there. One woman went off on the front desk staff so badly that they called security on her. I kept telling DH I just wanted to go home and he said we'd made it that far, we couldn't leave until I was checked. I knew he was right but it was torture to sit there for 3 hrs just to be seen. The ER nurse and dr  were fabulous though, so that was a nice way to end the visit. Still, I hope whatever this was is done or that I at least don't have to go thru the ER system ever again.

OMG, Cathy.  I hope it's not your appendix. :(    The ER is no place for truly sick or injured people these days.  I'm sending you good vibes that the pain doesn't return.

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh no, Cathy!  Feel better and no appendicitis vibes coming from Michigan.

In other news, my beagle/bassett mix friend at the shelter got adopted last week!
