Monday, mindless as ever

    Monday, mindless as ever

I heard from Otis's family and he's doing well!  Still doing his business in the house, chasing squirrels outside, but they love him anyway.

DS has been home since Friday.  He did a bunch of his own laundry on Saturday.  He went to the shelter with me yesterday and helped me walk some dogs.  Wants me to make beef stroganoff tonight before he leaves to head back to Ann Arbor.  He says he has been coming up a lot because he's worried about me being by myself (since break-up).  It's sort of sweet, but he doesn't understand that I'm mostly fine on my own.

I hope baby Cassie is okay.

ETA: my credit union backed off all the charges from my credit card almost as soon as I faxed the form in on Friday.  I love my CU!

The internet was down at the house since sometime yesterday.  I was mostly at the hospital and didn't bother to call and see what the problem was.  Charles is supposed to get released today.

I need to catch up on everyone but need to get busy at work since I figure I'll be leaving at some point to get Charles sprung.

Good vibes to all who need them.

    Yummmmmmmmmmmm  . . . . . beef stroganoff.

    Yay for Charles going home.

This WILL be a good week.

How did it get to be morning already??

Because I wanted him to, DH called when he got in and that was sometime between 12:30 and 1 AM.  The bladder woke me up around 6:30.  Not doing so great in the sleep department lately!

The morning temp where he is....49 degrees.  Today's high?  Low to mid 70's!!  Oh dang, TAKE ME HOME!!  My hair never dried yesterday.  Just stayed wet all freaking day and even into the night.  WITH the AC cranked.

Sheba is feeling much better and is her old fiesty self.  She keeps trying to move around the RV and getting stuck with the cone, so of course I have to get up and rescue her.  The darned cone is a major pain for both of us.  But, she'll rub at her face without it and its for her own protection, but still.  What a pain and especially in a very limited space.

I'm really going to try to take it easy today.  DS has to spend more time in here so I can get outside more than to empty the crap tank.  The one time I tried to go out, the phone rang and I was stuck inside.  Plus, he really doesn't get that Sheba needs to be monitored since she walks into stuff and gets stuck, and since she CAN get the darned cone off.

OK, I'm tired and crabby this morning so going to crawl into a pot of coffee and see if that helps my mood!

Blah... They looked at my car Saturday but didn't really do anything with it. I knew that they looked at it because I drove by and it was facing the other direction. I'd just like to know if I might get it today or not. I got Soccer tickets for the new team, the Philadelphia Union, for the opening game in their new arena.

Luke didn't want to get up this morning, and I agreed with him, but I still did get up. I put Luke in bed with my sister and let him keep sleeping instead of going out and then putting him in the crate. He had a nice nap with her apparently.

So, I just got a new debit card mailed to me from TD Bank, which they claim replaces my old Commerce Bank card. Ummm... my card was replaced in January. Second, the numbers are all flat, not raised like every other card I own. This look too weird to be real, so I think I will take it in the bank and ask them to make sure this is real.

I ordered a transcript, which I got the other day, and I proceeded to lose it already because I didn't put it into the package I have to mail out right away. If I don't find it by the end of the day, I think I'll just go ahead and order another one. I guess I can save that one if I find it for some other time, since that is from a school I am done with.

    I just bathed a.... 6 dogs. I think I need a nap.

Yeah, I would take that card to the bank too! With so many scams going on....

Speaking of scams, at 8:45 PM on Friday night, I got a call that I stupidly answered (I had imbibed a number of beers lol).  It was a total scam, and I am really irked they got my cell number. They were trying to sell me a home security and when I asked how they got my number and what company this was, they refused to answer outright. I googled their number and found numeous complaints about them calling and offering everything from home security systems to long distance phone cards. They never say where they are calling from and if pressed will just hang up.

I don't like cheats and liars, but I respect even less those who aren't even good at it! Seriously, I'm in a business that most people think IS a scam, so I'm well aware of the types of scams out there to keep myself informed and inform those who do work for my company.

DH apparently fell into a good one when I was gone with Sheba on Saturday.  He did a "quick quote" for a professional move.  Didn't get it but I sure got the phone calls yesterday.

One was from "Allstate" movers.  On a bad cell phone. When I said I'd never heard of his company he got pissy and told me that "lady, there are over 8000 companies".  When I repeatedly had to ask him to repeat himself because of the bad reception he got even pissier and asked if I had a hearing problem.  Then I got ticked and told him if he wished to speak with us he needed to call back on a land line.  Well, HE never had a problem with his phone.  I told him NOT to bother to call back and when he wanted to know why, I told him again, I'd never heard of his company and I found him rude and abusive and wouldn't do business with him if the company was gold plated.  He cussed me out.

And of course, I had no idea these calls were coming since DH forgot to tell me!

If DS doesn't get his fanny in here to walk these dogs I'm going to snag his boots and shove them where the sun don't shine.  TWO hours I've been waiting.

I'm still at the office.  The doc hasn't been by yet and Charles is getting grumpier by the minute. lol  I told him to pretend he's at a nice hotel with room service and everything.  He's not buying it.  Hopefully, the doc will come by soon but then comes the looooooong wait for the hospital to do their discharge paperwork.  I think they use a chisel and stone based on our last experience.

Feeling sad for sambob who lost her little Weim puppy, Luger, yesterday.  Life is just plain cruel sometimes.   There's a thread in the Rainbow Bridge section.

Hot and humid doesn't begin to describe the weather here.  I talked to someone in CT this morning and they said they had a nice temp drop yesterday and slept with the windows open.  Lucky them.

It's rainy here on and off all week but high for today was around 70.  I'd have left the windows open, if the birds didn't sit on my windowsill and chirp in my ear at 5am.  LOL.  I sleep until 6, crazy birds!

I'm still sick.  ugh. and not happy to be back at work.
