Monday, mindless as ever

    Yay for Charles!

I hope Sheba continues to feel better and better. Those cones are so not fun, but necessary.

Good thoughts to whoever else needs them.

I had a great weekend. I took Friday off and had a long weekend. FH and I went down to the city to visit my "man of honour". He came to The Bay with me and we spent three hours registering while FH was back at the apartment sleeping. LOL. Won't he be surprised come the wedding. Then we sat on a patio all afternoon and after ordering just a small pitcher of sangria, we decided to go for the big giant one. Me and my MOH polished it off nicely - but man it was ridiculously large, it was like 6 litres of sangria. LOL. YUM. We went to a few other bars and ended up at a drag show. It was a blast. "She" was such a diva and sang (lip synced) Whitney Houston, and Dianna Ross for like four hours - normally I can't stand either one of them, but it was great watching her do it! Then somehow FH and I ended up on stage with her telling the crowd about how we were getting married and her dedicating the rest of the night to us. LOL.

Sunday we went to visit my grandparents. My grandpa probably only has a couple more months of living to do. His heart is only functioning at 20% right now. He looked better than I expected, but still very frail and tired. Which I supposed is to be expected when you've just had a heart attack a week ago.

Tonight we are taking Timmy to the vet to get a lump on his elbow biopsied (sp?). I hope that goes smoothly.

I gotta go grocery shopping and I don't wanna finally heard about my ankle I have an old injury I'm betting it was broke two years ago when I went to the hospital but that hospital is known to let people with broken bones leave without knowing. Gotta swing by the hospital to get my report.

Can someone stop the rain for a few so I can shop and not have my hair frizz up lol

Good vibes for a biopsy that shows nothing serious. Geesh, these dogs sure keep us on our toes, don't they?

It's gorgeous and sunny again today. We've been 90ish the last few days and other than needing a little AC at night, it's not been bad. Fingers crossed that we don't have any problems with that or anything else for awhile. DH fixed the washer 2 weeks ago and now the pool equipment has gone bonkers, the fairly new and expensive BBQ is shutting off in the middle of cooking and DH nicked on of the sprinkler pipes that feeds water into the pool. Poor guy has got his hands full with repairs right now and I'm just hugely thankful that he's good at this kind of stuff. We'd probably be looking at $1,000 or more between the washer and pool equipment if we had to hire someone and buy new stuff.

My boss hasn't been in the office for about 2 weeks but just left a msg saying he'd be here in about an hour. Sad

Just trying to catch up on the weekend chats.

RIP Seger, my deepest sympathy to his family.  I was so hoping he would pull thru.

Yea for Charles...Jackie I know how hard it is to keep him calm.  Getting released from the hospital is such a nightmare.  I always wished that the Dr wouldnt tell Ron he could go until I had the car pulled up to the door, lol!

    Prayers for Cassie.

Good vibes for Glenda and DH and furr babies

We got what was supposed to be a possible shower and it was a gully washer, with wind and hail about an hour ago.  Nice thing is that it cooled things off by about 10 degrees.

Had a great weekend!  Worked in the yard all day both days.   My little Rocky stuck by my side the whole time followed me everywhere.  Hot Shot was an A/C dog except for the time I took the dog brush outside then he willingly followed me to be brushed and didnt want Rocky to get any of the good stuff, :) I told him it was Rocky's turn and he pushed Rocky out of the way by leaning on him til he moved then laid down belly up for more brushing....I just left him laying there and said "Its Rocky's turn"  he finally gave up and went to the door so he could go back into the A/C

     I'M GOING TO PERU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you see me jumping for joy?

Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to pay for it, but that's just small details lol

So much for getting lots of work done today. They had to update our computers and when they did they didn't transfer all my settings so now I'm having to spend time going through all my apps and such, re-doing all settings. This is time that I didn't not want to waste today!

Oh and the planning for the big vacation isn't helping matters either. The friend that I'm going with is currently stationed in Iraq so we can only email each other back and forth as she gets the chance.  So I have to get right on those emails considering she may not be online again for a while. I'm so excited.

It was warm last night ... not miserable *too hot to sleep* warm, just *open the windows* warm, and some stupid bird woke me up about 2 a.m. chirping his fool head off.  He must have chirped for 1/2 hr., then Max decided to go outside and bark at him. *sigh* Between the bird and Max, I probably didn't get back to sleep until after 3 a.m. And my coffee maker seems to be going wonky, so I'll probably have to replace that very soon.

The craziness just doesn't stop -- boss got both of us new computers but they're 64 bit rather than 32 and it's made all the printers instantly obsolete (and we can't download drivers for my BRAND NEW IN FEB HP laser (moan of despair)

Add to that it's a huge jump change in software (and he uses WordPerfect -- *sigh* -- yeah I know .. WordHUH????) and all my lists and shortcuts don't work

ACK -- I may never crawl out from under this day! LOL -- no, I'm thrilled to have a new computer -- it's just ... a day of deadlines and I"m spinning my wheels!! LOL

LOL - I had a bird chirping his head off in the middle of the night last week in my backyard. I remember thinking "don't birds sleep at night?" It was really annoying.

Just got an email from SIL (DH's sister) that they got invited to the 1 yr birthday party for DH"s granddaughter. She assumed we'd been invited and said if she'd known we hadn't, she wouldn't have gone. Guess FIL/SMIL got invited too but there's a whole bunch of DH's family that didn't, including his mom. I'm sick of the games and really tired of seeing DH get hurt. I just don't understand hurtful people but maybe that's a good thing. I have made it a point to stay in contact with SD and be nice but I'm not sure I can keep doing that anymore.

THAT makes for an awesome weekend story!!!!!  Good thoughts for Timmy's biopsy.

Cathy, what a bummer about the repairs.... but ever-so-thankful you have a handy husband!!  I swear, sometimes I'll reduce my expectations of a man if he can fix things and do them well.  My step-dad can fix tons of things, but he's not the best about the details.  I learned this as a kid when he put louvered doors over the new laundry room he built.  I asked why the handles were so high - were the doors upside down?  He got up in the middle of the night to fix it, because he couldn't stop thinking about it and I was right - they were upside down.  My ex, otoh, was great about the details.  Matching stucco textures, cleaning up the finer lines in painting, etc.  The fact that he could build things made up for him being short; paying attention to the details made up for him being moody.

My sister is having a party for coworkers on Weds.  (It's kinda sad, every time she leaves a company, she throws herself a party under different reasoning - this time it's the wrap up of a project, but her last day is Friday.)  So, we spent the weekend setting up flower pots and outdoor lighting, etc.  I get to continue the chores of scrubbing every surface inside the house and out.  Good thing I'm great at project management. :)

Good luck to Chuffy today on her impending birth of her baby!

Meg, how's Wendy settling in??  I *loved* Jan's comment about the Peter Pan theme!  So sweet.

Good thoughts for Charles getting to come home today!!!  Hope everyone else is well.  I assume Todd made it to... hmm, I'm wondering if it's Virginia?  Kentucky?  Hope Sheba is continuing to do well today.  Also hoping Brutus is well.  Amanda, any word on Cassie?

Edit to add:  Cathy, I'm sorry about your SD.  I don't know the back story (and I'm not asking), but my dad and my sisters don't have a good relationship and I think we just lucked out that he has no siblings/other family that would/could be invited to things that he is not.  My step-mom did the best she could to be super to us (like you), but she was part of the package with him and my sisters just avoid him as much as possible, which meant her, too.  (Admitedly, I'd rather have a relationship with HER now that they're divorced, than my own dad.)  I hope your H and his daughter can work things out to tolerate eachother enough that this doesn't happen again.

JULIE!!!!   PERU!!!!?!?!?!?!?!   HOW FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!!  HOORAY!!  Now how are you supposed to stay focused at work (as requested vibes from yesterday) after learning that?!?!

Hah, Wendy is nekkid! I spent about an hour working on her with FMIL's clippers and then I caved and took her to a groomer friend of mine. Good thing I did, her feet were really matted and we had to use her tiny little clippers to get them cleaned up. She has 'poodle feet' now. LOL.

    I cannot WAIT for Chuffy's bebe :)

I need to go take a shower and get this dog hair offa me!!

I wanna see "poodle feet"... wheresa pit-chers??

I had to go and edit my last post to address Cathy and Julie.  PS, being at home w/the TV on in the background, I've actually managed to "watch" like 4 episodes of Bonanza so far this morning... I wonder who was actually a fan of that show.

At the risk of causing gut busting laughter from all you youngsters, I never missed an episode when I was a kid.  Heck, I named a litter of puppies after the cast one time. lol  I was sitting in a doctor's office not too long ago and the TV had Bonanza on and I was so mad that they called me into the doctor before I saw the ending because I couldn't remember how it ended but you can be sure it ended happy. :)  It was a simpler time back then and as lame as it seems today that show was one of my faves. :)

Still waiting for the doc to show up and sign off on Charles' release.

Meg, poor Wendy looks so pitiful nekkid.
