Okay, okay.  I get everyone's points!  Sheesh - do you want me to break down and admit I'm afraid of failing once again?  Self esteem issues here...

Of course we don't want that, esp since you didn't fail the first time.  We just want you to be happy.  And if that means hanging out w/ this friend, than we like it :) And we're highly opinionated, and don't keep our thoughts to ourselves Zip it!

The 6-Flags in Baltimore is, I think, about and hour and a half from here (might be just under 2 hours).  I'm not exactly sure b/c I haven't ever gone directly there from my house.  I think on the map it may look far, but since its mostly interstate it isn't bad, barring traffic of course...  FH's parents want to go to the one in NJ next year, but we'll take a long weekend for that.

ETA: Hershey Park, it has been a few years since I've been there.  A friend of mine used to get discount tickets from her oil company, but I'm pretty sure they moved and don't have that company anymore.  I love amusement parks and have been to TONS of them.

    Thanks, Steph.  I needed that.

Egawd, I think I am hormonal today.

Have you been to Dorney Water Park?  Many many years ago, I worked for Boscov's and we went as a company outing.  It was fun, but I will never ride a wooden rollercoaster ever again.

I feel badly - I nicked two of Gracie's toenails today during trimming.  She was not happy.  PS. how do you guys get your nail trimmers sharpened?  Do you just bring them to dog shows and have the blade guy do it?  Or do you just buy new ones?  My dremmel is just entirely too loud for any of the dogs to tolerate.

Karen, did you see Saturday's "Marmaduke"?  Marm was sitting in a chair in front of a computer and the husband & wife are peeking around the corner.  Husband says, "why can't he just play with a squeaky toy?".  Priceless.  And totally Bugsy!

LOL I did see that one - there was one last week with Marm taking the slippers off the husbands feet - I had to send that one to DH.  For some reason B loves to play a game with DH that includes taking whatever footwear he has on off and playing keep away - it is really hysterical and B has even gone so far as to try to take his flip flops off while he is standing in them - DH runs about 240 so not an easy task

Amanda I hope nothing serious is wrong with Bru

Glad to hear Belle is feeling better

We are having yet another storm complete with torrential rain - this is truly absurd now

We've been getting those every evening for about 5 days now.  It's great for my new grass!!!  And my water bill, since every day it rains is a day I don't have to water the sod.

My mom has been going through some old pics, looking for ones of my bro for some project she's doing for their wedding, and she said she came across a bunch of pics of my riding days, from when I was like 13 through maybe 18 or 20.  She said she's going to scan & email them to me, and then those bad boys are totally going on Facebook to embarrass some of my friends who are in them, lol.  I can't wait to see the pics.  Ah, memories.

Amanda - I have to say, whenever I hear stories of your vet visits like that, it reminds me waaay too much of Animal Cops Houston.  Of all the Animal Cops locations, Houston seems to have the most infuriating people who do the most blatantly revolting things with/to their animals.

We have tons of responsible pet owners too.  Since we switched to the current vet, we seem to run into less idiots than before.  I think it has something to do with the fact that they charge a little more than some of the other vets in the area, but it's totally worth it.  (We have 2 vet clinics here, one with an excellent reputation, that require all "dangerous breeds" be muzzled before entering the waiting room, so I'll happily pay a little more for a doctor who my guys like, & who is comfortable with them.)  I was really, really surprised that I got three in one day.  Normally, we run into people who can't/don't control their otherwise healthy dogs.  Yesterday was different.

DS has a new cast, & I found out why the old cast smelled so bad.  He, his brother, & DH went fishing last Friday.  (I went, but I'm not a fisherperson, so I worked on my tan.)  They were using stink bait.  DS decided that it would be smarter, & require less walking, if he stored a little of the stink bait in between his hand & the cast.  Apparently, a little chunk broke off, & traveled a little too far up the cast for DS to reach.  He's been wandering around with that nasty stuff up in his cast for 4 days.  On the drive home, we had a discussion about the do's & don'ts of casts.

At first I felt very happy about it - now I just looked at the calendar and it has been 18 days since the first real rain we had in months.  I bet during that 18 days we only had a few days without rain and many days with several massive storms.  Bugsy is happy because his kiddie pool is always full LOL But we have gone from burned out lawn to mushrooms and mold/mildew/fungus growth on the soil, plants, etc.

I would think we are easily over a foot of rain in that time period - more storms forecasted for the rest of the week

My guy friend from back home called me last night!  Said I could visit him at any time.  I told him he'd have to invite me first.

I'd have handled it the same way. Throwing out an open invitation to visit isn't the same as saying "I'd really like to see you" but I'm quirky about that kind of stuff. He's not dense, right? He probably understood what you meant, so I wouldn't be surprised if he asks you more directly very soon.

I'm so glad that Abbie is doing better. She really had us all worried last week.

I'm swamped at work right now, so haven't had much time to check in here today and actually wished the clock would slow down for a change. I'm really hoping the new bedding I ordered last week shows up today.

Cathy i hope your bedding arrives!

DH is on let's see I believe the 4th day/night of watching Band of Brothers in its entirety - its a great show but I am really done with it now

I just got back from a bike ride - I am trying to increase my fitness without re-injuring this testy hamstring so that I can meet my goal for the Komen race.  At the moment there is no way in you know what I will make my time.  I know it doesn't really matter but it does!

BTW after many years of long distance road biking I want to say that I do not find the mountain bike position comfortable or efficient.

Oh  well off to find something ot read or something on TV while the Band of Brothers-a-thon continues Hmm

TODD GOT THE CALL!!!!  And an apology that the guy didn't call yesterday...buried after the long weekend!

So, as soon as we can scrape together the gas money, Sunday or Monday, hopefully, he'll be on his way to scope out the area....although its a state we've lived in before, different area tho, and to get things nailed down.

Keep those fingers, toes and paws crossed please!!

    • Gold Top Dog

    WOOHOO! Congrats Glenda and hubby!

Pass the vodka, 2x4 and fast-forward to the weekend....please. that is all.

     Wooohooo on the job!

I had no idea there was a  Six Flags in Baltimore, so I thought you did mean the one in Jackson, NJ, Steph. Luke is from Jackson, NJ actually. I went there for the first time last year. That place was totally packed. Dorney Park is much emptier typically, even on a crowded day, that you can actually pretty much get onto everything you might want to get on. I didn't feel like it's horribly spread out and requires tons of walking like Six Flags was.

Having taken tons of allergy stuff over the past 24 hours, I'm betting my blood pressure must be off the wall. Anything with a blood pressure warning generally will up mine a bit. So, I will imagine that taking several things that up ones blood pressure is probably terrible for me. I just added some Afrin to that.

    Yay Glenda!!

Tonight I am again reminded why I rarely watch the local news (I watched something on Fox and their news is early at 10pm).  A teenage girl is raped in a school hallway.... a guy who has never had a driver's license but already has a criminal driving record hits a poor woman on a wheelchair and runs...

    • Gold Top Dog

GREAT NEWS GLENDA!!!!!!!!!  :::Happy dance, happy dance:::

    Paige, it's your turn now!
