Have I mentioned how much I love living near an ocean??? NOT!!  We get the storms that Vancouver Island can't hold back. So instead of doing some much needed running around, I'm curling up with my new book, The other Boleyn girl. So far it's REALLY good.

And Kameo is trying to climb the curtains.....*bangs head on desk*

    GREAT looking car!

We are getting another storm today.  FIVE days in a row!!  Loving it!  Of course the walking path and benches at the lake have been under water since December, and to utilize the docks you have to take off your shoes and wade through the standing water on the first 10 foot of them.......mornings are miserably humid, but gosh, once the storms start, it's heavenly and has been staying cool when they finish.

I think Corky has finally figured out that when the sky is making noise, she can't go swimming in the rain.  She loves to swim in the rain, however, will not risk her safety during a storm.  Today she's not even squawking about it.  Usually she screams bloody murder waitig for her chance!  And in here, she can realllllly hear the rain falling!

I wish the phone would ring......

My guy friend from back home called me last night!  Said I could visit him at any time.  I told him he'd have to invite me first.

Sweetpea - he already did. Wink You're making him work hard here, and does he even know if you're ready to date yet?  (rhetorical question, none of my business to know the answer.)

Paige, you are too funny!  I'm trying not to seem too desperate here.  Coming out of a 7-year relationship where I was not a priority for at least the last 3 years of it, I truly am a starved for a lot of things, but I don't want to come across that way.  In the back of my mind is that little voice...the one that says be careful - a man who invites you to his house really only wants one thing, spare bedroom or not.

I'm really not good at this stuff.

Tina, ignore the little voices in your head!!!

Well, which little voice told you to leave your ex?  That's the one I'd listen to now... :)  I know, I know, but, really, some chances don't come around three times - it sounds like you're on #2 with this man.  Just sayin'.  Not to rush, but to clearly decide what is right for you, then help him help you make that come true.  (Cuz, you know what's right for you involves being treated well by a caring, considerate man.  Cooking classes can come later if you want.)

Thanks all :)  I do really love it, but I gotta say, I'm having a hard time not having my truck anymore.  I know I'll get used to it.

Jen, I moved to PA about a year and a half ago, but forgot to change my location on here until recently....oops... Anyways, I live in Chambersburg, which is about 20 minutes north of the MD state line, and about 45 min SW of Harrisburg.  Its right along I-81 if that helps.

Meg, maybe the model is shy, but geesh you'd think she could manage a 'hello'.  Glad FH gave you the $20, and I have definitely said similar things when I'm given lame excuses.

Was thinking about Amanda's vet experience reminds me I need to make an appointment for Blaze, she's been having tummy issues lately.  Brutus, I'm glad you're feeling a bit more comfy today.

Belle glad to hear you're more yourself too.

See I'm not getting that at all.  He lives three hours away.  I think he's trying to circumvent you NOT visiting by having to drive 6 hours to do it.

Tina, I agree w/ Paige and Deb.  And Amanda too.  While just wanting that 1 thing is possible, I would imagine, if that's his angle, he wouldn't be putting in the time and effort that your getting.  He'd probably just go for easy targets.  I could be completely wrong, my STBX is certainly proof of my ability to over look flaws in character, but I think a visit could be nice.  And since he put the spare room out there already, to me that says he knows you want to keep it slow for now.

Just my 2...well for as long as that was...10 cents :)

Okay, okay.  I get everyone's points!  Sheesh - do you want me to break down and admit I'm afraid of failing once again?  Self esteem issues here...

    • Gold Top Dog
Hey, it was the ex that failed last time! Cut yourself some slack, woman!!! That spare room might be comfy... :)

Sending good job-thoughts and good health-thoughts to those who need them.

I'm off for about 2 solid weeks of traveling - I probably won't be around for a while. Try not to cry yourselves to sleep, mmmkday? ;)

In unrelated news, I'm mad at BF because he's acting like a brat. When he wants Rascal to change his behavior, he (finally) goes for positive reinforcement, consistency, patience, and a good attitude. When he wants ME to change MY behavior, he pouts and whines and throws a tantrum, then wonders why I'm more likely to give him the finger than change my behavior. In fact, I usually get pissed off enough about the attitude that I do the exact opposite. When he gets home, I'm going to very nicely suggest he treat me at least as well as he treats our dog, and then maybe he'll get results. Maybe he'll finally get the hint that whining and sulking aren't exactly powerful motivators.

I suspect this man is telling you he would make a very good safety net for you.  Plus, learning that you're not compatible for the long haul is NOT a failure.  It is an acknowledgement and a desire to do something better for yourself.  Cutting yourself short to stick with someone out of some sort of obligation to succeed when you know it's not working could have been the failure.  (again, just sayin'... cuz I'm not short on opinions for other people's dating lives, it seems.  I'll take my 2x4 whacks as appropriate. lol)

    Anyways, I live in Chambersburg
    - one of my very good friends lives in Mercersburg, and we've hung out in Chambersburg. Wasn't there a bar there that had like 300 beers from all over the world?  If so, that's the place where I saw a woman bring a baby into a bar (for the first & last time in my life).  I'll be heading that way again once I'm ready for my Whippet, since that friend's mom is the Whippet breeder I've talked about before.

Not sure about the bar, but I know there's one called Dilly's that's really popular, and Norland Pub is too (actually, I'm told Norland Pub has some amazing wings, but I haven't been there to try them yet.   And whenever you're in the area for the Whippet, just let me know, I'm always up to meet an iDogger :)

Steph, wow, you were going to go all the way from there to Six Flags? That seems like quite a trip. I don't think I've ever been down that way. If you haven't visited it yet, you need to go to Hershey Park of course.

I had about 3 hours of napping, and I'm still feeling rather delirious. I need to get up and go in a minute though. I'm supposed to go to the Toastmasters meeting tonight, and I think I will go, since I signed up for a job tonight. Usually I go to the gym before hand, because it's not worth it for me to go home from work, then to go back out over there. It's definitely not feeling like a gym night though. Maybe just standing in the hot shower though actually.
