Jewlieee
Is it wrong of me to be tired with an e-collar jamming me in the legs all the time? lol I'm sure it's just as annoying for abbie. The worst part is she will stand in the doorway to whatever room I'm in and can't turn around because the cone is so big. So, I have to back her up then turn her around just to get out. It's been 6 days, do you think it's safe to take the collar off?
Aww - too bad your vet doesn't have a bite-not collar you could borrow. Patrick was actually pretty forceful with his - he would deliberately use it to push others out of the way. But he never tried to scratch it off or get out of it. He was soo good.
Tina - glad to hear about the new 4-legged friend... Beagle bassett sounds sweet. I'm sort of glad the red Dobe went to rescue. I won't assume to know the full story on why the first adopter's vet warned her off. Yes, they need to be kept quiet for quite a while during and after treatment is finished - which, maybe her household just couldn't accomodate. There's this sweetpea of an old man at my old Dobe rescue that I would *love* for him to find a home soon... Look at that furrowed brow!!! from the DRU.org website:
ADOLPHO is a 9 year old, blue and rust, cropped and docked male who was left in a county shelter with little hope for a bright future. Thanks to SSNAP, he is getting healthy at DRU. Adolpho needed treatment for a painful urinary tract infection, Lyme Disease and is now receiving medication for his hypothyroidism. The old guy is feeling better every day. If given a chance, Adolpho will drop his big head into an available lap, look up from his furrowed brow and furiously wag his nub. He has the "Doberman poke" down to a science. Adolpho is a gentle, old soul who deserves a home. Warning! Adolpho does not like cats! I'm a SSNAP dog!
