    Monday chattin'

from yesterday, courtesy of Paige:  "Tina, yay on the nice long phone call... don't forget to let him know when you're ready to actually go on a date.  :)"

Yes, I will.  We live 3 hours apart, so logistically there are a few things to work out.  I told him if we were going to re-connect on a meaningful level, I did not want to start in the bedroom.

Frankly, if I want an f-buddy, I can find that locally, but I'm pretty much past that stage of my life.

The red dobe is still at the shelter.  Supposedly 2nd Chance Dobes has a place for him if he's not adopted.  He's heartworm positive.

I'm up to my eyeballs in company credit card statements, so I'd better get to it.

OK, we found another lump on Apollo over the weekend. It's right on his chest. I'm pretty sure it's a fatty tumor (it's squishy and a little bigger than the size of pea). Ugh. Our vet- LOVE her- said we can bring him in tomorrow at 8am, she'll look at it and biopsy it, and if we want she'll remove it that day (and I do want it removed asap!). So, good vibes again, please. I really, REALLY hate that he's getting old......the white is showing up more and more on his muzzle, face, paws, and under his tail (looks like a skunk tail, lol!), but he still plays and has a good energy level. I hope everyone has a good day today, even though it is Monday, ugh....(off to get an iced coffee)

Blah... my second client didn't open the door this morning. I rang three times and called before I left. Apparently, she didn't hear the door. Umm.. you have this hearing aid thing, try wearing it. Then, after I left, I went to the supermarket. I tried to buy something, but I couldn't get the stupid self checkout to work. So, I left my stuff, and I went to the other supermarket. They didn't have what I wanted though. Oh well.

Had SUCH a nice weekend. The kids school campout went GREAT...I thought Elias's head woudl explode from sheer happiness lol. Lily was a bit surly at the end but she still enjoyed herself.

Saturday was spent sharing time with the kids and Sunday too, lots of outdoor time and I squeezed in a walk or two as well.

My two remaining kitties are looking great and starting to actually look like CATS vs tiny, mewling aliens! They turned 2 weeks old on Sunday,

Today I am meeting with the SpecEd teach about retaining Elias...to get her viewpoint and advice...not that it will change anything but I do want her input!

Hope everyone has a satisfactory Monday!

eta: OH! forgot..something probably inane but fun. I caught TWO nice big, plump fence/Texas Spiny lizards this weekend! I caught them to show the kids, and just to prove to myself that I still could. They are VERY hard to catch and you have to be willing to take a bite from them too so it takes nerve. They were both LOVELY specimens full of vigor and both had lovely blue tummies. The kids really enjoyed seeing them up close, especially Lily. She is SO, her mother's daughter lol.

I didn't get much sleep last night and feel like, well, you know.  Then when it got light enough to see I went to check the wren nest (yesterday the eggs started hatching).  The planter with the nest was on it's side and the baby birds were on the ground, covered in fire ants. Crying    Life stinks sometimes.

I don't know why, but I tossed and turned all night.  I usually sleep like the dead and now have a splitting headache.

Tina:  way to go, girl !!!

aww sorry Jackie. You know how I worried when my baby wrens last year fledged and took off with that CAT in the neighborhood.

Nature does what she must to make sure the balance is upheld. Momma wren will lay another clutch...hopefully in a safer area.

Tina, I hope things work out the way you want them to, whatever that may be. :)

I found out this weekend that one of my best friends from high school just got engaged. She never even dated anyone until after college!! Fortunately I've met her fiance and think he's a great guy who's just crazy about her, so I'm happy for them both. But I also have this twinge of angst... here she is, getting married to this guy she's been dating for 2 years, and here I am, moving across the country from the guy I've been dating for 7. Jealousy, angst, drama. Suck it up, Cita!! I do hope I'm at least invited to my friend's wedding. We've drifted apart over the years, and I really hope it's just because we've been busy with life and far apart and there's nothing else going on. Double angst! Sigh!

Jackie- Oh no! I'm sorry about the baby birds, that is so sad! Cita- 1 of my friends who I lost touch with after college is now married w/ a baby....um...she never even dated in highschool and rarely dated college! Apparently she met this guy, got pregnant, got engaged, got married, bought a house, and had the baby in *less* than 1 year- crazy!

Oh Jackie, I'm so sorry to hear that.  That stinks...never easy to see.

I have done a LOT of stuff this morning already, all of this between 5am and 7:30am.

    • Made DH lunch
    • Took dogs out for first business
    • Exercised for 30 mins
    • Washed this hair of mine (mane)
    • Dried this hair of mine.
    • Made treats for dogs for the day
    • Fed the dogs
    • Emptied cat liter boxes
    • Filled dishwasher and ran it.
    • Took dogs out for another business trip post breakfast
    • Packed up my PC, lunch and work bag.

Phew!  That's a lot of stuff.  Now at the office and resting with a nice cup of joe.

I need to post some pics that I took over the weekend.  Heidi cracks me up sometimes.  Oh, Bruder got in the pool!  He only got on the first step...but he layed down and chilled for a while.

    Good Monday to all!

    (((Jackie))) - I'm so sorry

Stayed up late watching the season's finale of Grey's last night.Wow! I cried at the end. :(

I slept really well but still didn't want to get out of bed. I'm off today but still want to get a bunch of stuff done. I need to get my workout in before anything else. It's gloomy, cold and windy again. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain so I can scratch off washing my car today :)

Tina, I hope things work out the way you want them to, whatever that may be. :)

Well, I did tell him no expectations, but that it was nice to talk with him and catch up.  The first thing he said to me when he called me Saturday was that he was very sorry I had to euthanize Agnes (I'd mentioned it in my note to him).  It was nice that he was at least sensitive enough to say that - I think he must have understood how important my pets are to me when I saw him at the funeral and said I had to head back home right away because of Agnes's needs.  I felt listened to for the first time in a long time.

Jackie, I'm so sorry about the birds.  Crying

I'm looking forward to my laaaaazy day today.  Yesterday, Derek and I worked around the house from 10am - 10:30pm.  We went into town first thing in the morning and bought a dinging room table + chairs (though it's only a 4 seater lol but a tall table and chairs), a new tv stand and a coffee table, then we came home to unload the jeep, then back in and went to several other stores, then bought an umbrella for our patio, then some plastic shelving, then to the grocery store to pick up a couple small things, then home again.

Then we put together the dining room table and chairs, coffee table and tv stand, moved around furniture in the living room and dining room, and put up some pictures finally.  lol.  then we cleaned the house top to bottom, cleaned out the laundry room, under the stairs, the storage room and the cold storage room and tidied up the kitchen and basement.  We had SO many empty cardboard boxes lol we finally got rid of everything, and put out the old tv stand at the end of the driveway which was gone in just a couple house lol wooohoo.

Now this morning, my legs, back, arms and ribs hurt lol.  but it's a lazy day, i have my pork shoulder in the crock pot.  It's the first time I've ever used a crock pot so I'm very excited!!!

Thanks Joyce and Lisa for the recipes!
