Sunday chit-chat

    Sunday chit-chat

    Good morning!

Got the lawn mowed yesterday but never did make it to the grocery store.  It was rainy in the morning, and I didn't feel like going out.  If I don't go to the store early, I generally won't go at all.  I, too, hate crowds.  Nothing like dealing with the pushy people and the screaming kids, who usually end up in all the same aisles I do.

Lori, I'm sorry to read that Willow is doing poorly and hope you can find some relief for her pain.  Please give her gentle rubs from me.

Glenda, glad to hear about MIL staying put.

My guy friend got my card and called me yesterday - we talked for 2 1/2 hours.  I mentioned I'd like to go see the glass exhibit this summer, and it sounds like he might go with me.

I hope everyone has a good day!

That would be cool if you went to see Chihuly's exhibit together. :)

We spent 3 1/2 hours at the office yesterday. :(  I did manage to get some laundry done when we got home.  Twister and I managed to get in a nap too.

Right now Rex and Belle are wrestle playing and they're so loud I don't know how Charles can sleep.  Between the growling, snarling and occasional ear splitting bark from Rex, it's not exactly a quiet, peaceful morning.  lol   I could try and sneak outside but it's pretty unlikely that the dogs won't notice.  lol

Just checking a few things on the internet before having a nice cooked breakfast - unfortunately Bugsy is wandering around the room looking to steal something.  Will he ever grow up? LOL

Dang dog just took a book off the book shelf - gotta go retrieve it

    Good Sunday everyone.

Today is trying to finish up the kitchen that has been in a remodel for a few weeks. I hope today is the day. A remodel hasn't been too bad, but it will be nice to finally have things back in order..

    Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

I went to sleep entirely too early last night, and I was up entirely too early for a Sunday morning, 6:30. I ended up going back to  sleep though at about 7:00 until just a few minutes ago. My brain hurts, which I think is a reaction to the mass quantities of sugar I ate yesterday.

We have entirely too many plans for the day.  Something is going to have to drop.  Gotta finish laundry.  Gotta go to the grocery store.  Wanna go ride the bike today.  DH wants to grill some chicken; and I want to grill some steak (chicken for the week...steak for today).  Wanna get some pool time in.  Too much to do, too little time.

Tina....that sounds great!  So, glad he called and you two are making plans.

Tina - I'm so glad to hear that your card did the trick. 2 1/2 hrs? That's a lot of catching up and probably a lot of fun. I'm happy for you.

DH took the washer apart when he got home yesterday and thinks a $5 part will fix it, so he ordered it and it should be here when he gets off on Tues. Why is it that the minute you can't use something, like your washer, you think of all the things you wanted to wash? Strange.

It's brrrrrrrrrrrr cold this morning but should make it to the low 70s at some point today. It's sunny too, so that's a plus.

Today's DH's birthday but we celebrated yesterday since he has to work today. He didn't really want or need anything but I did buy him an annual parking pass for the bike trail along the river. He usually parks where he doesn't have to pay but it's usually inconvenient and crowded, so he was really happy that I thought of the pass.

I took tomorrow off, so I have 2 days to get caught up on housecleaning and maybe do some shopping. Sassy's laying on the couch with her head in my lap. She loves lazy mornings as much as I do. :)

    Tina, you get em, girl!!

FH worked night shift the last 2 nights in a row - I'm glad that's over. I don't like to think about the kind of stuf he has to deal with at night. Definetly more risk that what he does during the day. Anyway, I'm probably going to try to stay away from home - the harder I try to be quiet, the more noise I seem to make.

On the weekends, FH's parents sit in their formal living room and drink coffee while they read the paper. If FH or I aren't working, we'll go over. The last few weekends, this lady would ride up the sidewalk across the street (it's wooded), get off her bike, and poke around the trees while looking at her phone. We all wondered what in the heck she was doing. F-FIL just called me and said he FINALLY went across and asked her what on earth she was doing and she said she's "geocaching". Which is like a real life treasure hunt! I looked at some iPhone apps but the free ones have bad reviews. Geocaching. Huh.

Morning all!  Going to be another hot and humid day here.  Yesterday we turned the AC on for a few hours during the hottest part of the day.  We are parked almost totally in the shade, the awning is down, etc, but, part of the afternoon gets pretty intense.  That worked out pretty well, just for a few hours.

Tina, I'm just so tickled for you!!

DH sent off an email to "the guy" yesterday that alluded to the DOB without saying anything about it, but made a big point of how healthy and energetic he is and how much he's looking forward to the hard work that comes with growing a company.  Sure hope that's enough IF the age is an issue.  I'm thinking it has to be since he was sooooooo gung ho and then cooled a bit.  Not a lot, but enough that it has DH concerned and upset.

Talked to MIL last night and she was in great spirits. So good to see her back to herself.  But, too, the antidepressents have had time to work and this is a gal who should have been taking them for years.

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

Tina I am so happy for you!

Well after having to cut my post short to practice my retrieves we had a huge storm that cut the electric for a bit.

When the storm had passed and the rain petered out to a drizzle I took B for a walk.  Bad decision the heavens opened when we were nearing out turnaround so basically we were about a mile and a half from home.  Soaking wet doesn't even begin to describe the state we arrived home in, Bugsy has come out of the lake drier Stick out tongue

So having dried him off and changed back into some sweats I'm back to about where I was when I started this day.

After having little to no rain since March, this past week has been the Raleigh rain forest - as a wild guess we have probably gotten 6-7 inches of rain.  The fertilizer I put down on Friday is definitely watered in now

Ok going to make some more coffee, watch golf and make a new plan for today

I was up until 5am last night so kind of dragging today.

Our search got canceled. Divers found the guy which is a relief. It was a 3 hr drive each way.

Should I go to the art fair today? I'm kind of feeling like I want to stick around home. But I know I will regret missing it if I don't go. I called a friend to see if she wants to go but she is working.

I have lots of laundry to get done.

So question of the week.. Why am I up at 8am on Sunday when I don't have to work!!?? I mean seriously! The dogs even went back to bed! I think I'll finish this coffee and crawl my butt back into bed.

Sandy is looking fantastic on her new diet.  Thou I'm jealous.. Lol I got some lamb shanks for her dinner tonight.  I'm trying to find a way to afford small whole birds and just feed her once a day. Thou I can see she's getting bored with chicken legs. I'll have to repackage them and freeze them for another day.  I'll post some before and after pictures later when she's more awake and I can work a camera. Lol.

Maze is looking great however she's not enjoying the diet change so she's back on her regular kibble (bleg!) until I can pick up a bag of Orjien. Her ear flared again so it's back to daily cleaning. I can tell she's getting fed up with it cuz she curled her lip at me yesterday when I was cleaning it.  Of course she got ear rubs after wards to soothe her ear.

Today I plan on staying PJ's, curled up on the couch with a book. No idea what book thou....

Let's hear it for 5 day weekends!! I love Victoria Day. Lol

Church ran long, and I missed Aerial1313 while she was in town.  Crying  Sorry Heather!  Definitely next time!

Anyone close enough to share some fresh chocolate chip cookies with me?  I made a bunch.

At least the house is clean, the dogs are clean, and it's sunny.

    Tina, he sounds promising!!

Cathy, that's a great gift.  I need to keep that in mind for future use.

Bugsy, put the book down.  You do not read(or does he, LOL!)

Glenda, good luck with the job!  They cannot discriminate like that!!

It's very humid here in RI today.  Thank you all for the good thoughts for Willow.  She was already feeling better with just one dose of Rimadyl.  I'm of course worried about her taking it.  But, it's obviously necessary. So, I'm doing what I think (and hope) is the right thing for her.  She shouldn't need it long, probably just a few days.

I'm also off to run errands and grocery shop.  I didn't leave her yesterday so basically nothing got done.

    Have a wonderful day everyone!
