Saturday in the park...the mindless park

It is raining here.  I can't wait to have to mow...again.

    Glenda, any word?

Moose the cat ralphed up his entire dinner last night, so he was extra persistent this morning about breakfast.  I don't free feed because he cannot eat kibble - it makes his poop stink so bad you'd need a gas mask to enter the house.

No big plans except grocery shopping today.  Livin' large, I am.

I'll take your rain Tina - i put fertilizer out yesterday and need it to be watered in now.

I'm up because well I always wake up between 5:30 and 6.  If its true that you wake up earlier as you get older I'll be up at 2 at 80 LOL

Bugsy found a baby bird/embryonic stage.  He sniffed and sniffed it and then looked at me with such sad eyes.  Then gave it a wide berth and moved on to other areas that needed to be inspected.  I would have thought he would have eaten it ..........always full of surprises.

No great plans for us either - I might golf (although we may get a shower) and we have to do a Costco trip.

I must say I have made some excellent coffee this morning Coffee Time for a refill

You and me both Tina!  So nice for it to be crappy out on the weekend when we are stuck indoors all week.

Went to this huge Zumba convention thing last night with about 200 other people.  It was 2 hours of Zumba class in about 100 degrees since it was so hot in there.  I am definitely paying for it this morning,  I am so sore I couldn't even sleep....that or I am hung over from all the margaritas we had at the mexican place after.  It was so fun and good to hang out with all my old friends from the dance studio.

Not much else is going on.  This will be the last week of swimming coming up.  Because of budget cuts they are closing the program we are currently in so now I have to find a new one - just when Riley was used to everything and everyone.  I am finding that this was one of the only programs that allows 3 year olds to swim without their parents, so it looks like we will be back to parent tot.  More searching is definitely needed.

Was crazy busy all week at work so I haven't been on here much.  I have to go read up on what everyone is up to.

    Have a good Saturday everyone!

My exciting trip to the grocery store is tomorrow. lol  The weather is humid and warm. I think the wren eggs will hatch soon.  I don't think any of my dogs would pass up a chance for a baby bird snack.  We picked our second tomato yesterday but it needs to ripen a bit.

I'm taking Rex in for his rattlesnake vaccine this morning.  He's a popular boy at the Vets and I always feel like a proud mom when people say how pretty and sweet he is. :)  I didn't have much to do with it but I still beam at the compliments.

I love this time of morning, when it's just getting light and all the birds are twittering around and singing their songs.  I'm off to sit outside with my coffee and enjoy my little spot on the planet before the rest of the world wakes up.

    Have a good day everyone.

I feel hungover,  but the only thing I drank last night was water! I hope this passes, as I am driving down to MA today to go to my great Aunt and Uncle's 50th anniversary. Right now I just want to crawl back into bed and shut out the world. Ugh.

I surprised myself the other day by saying to a coworker I'd go see a concert with her. She wanted to go, but no one else she knew would go. You gotta understand something....I'm quite shy by nature (I fake being social more often than not), crowds make me very nervous and I'm not a loud music fan lol. But, I'm feeling like a shut in, my coworker is someone I'm quite friendly with, and I do like the band that's coming at the end of July. So I have some time, to try not to get all panicky! I swear the track I'm on is going to lead me (very quickly) down the road of a hermit. If it weren't for Ari, sometimes I wonder if I'd even leave the house these days. Thank goodness for her (and my SO lol whose more social than I am).

I'm laying on the couch being lazy.  hehe  but i'm going to walk up the street to a garage sale soon.

Does anyone have a recipe for pulled pork that is a good recipe?  I searched google and the recipes are so different i have no idea whats good and not.  any help :D

No  news yet Tina.  I keep telling myself that if it is meant to be, it will be, but it's so hard waiting and wondering......

But, the good news on MIL staying where she is for at least 3 months helped make the day more special and less disappointing.

We just did steaks on the grill last night....and had a glass of wine together.

Danged google and their pacman thing!  I had never touched that game until yeterday, and I got hooked!

I had actually been sleeping until around 7 or so since we've been in the RV but for some reason, I was up at 6 this morning.  Had I not already started to coffee by the time I realized the time, I would have gone back to bed.  Kind of dragging this morning, but didn't get a really restful night sleep......I did a lot of tossing and turning which is unlike me.

I treated myself last night.  Heated a tea kettle of water and scrunched down in the shower stall with a plug in the drain for a "bath".  Kind of a crowded bath, and shaving the legs requires putting them up on a wall, but it beats standing on one leg like a stork to shave!  If water heaters for these things weren't so danged expensive, I would have replaced the burst one years ago.........but, the bath was nice in it's way!

I'm hoping that today is not as hot as it's supposed to be......other than that, we're just going to have a great day, no matter what it brings!

Good boy Bugsy.  I've experienced that same kind of amazement with Buddy when he found a teeny tiny bunny baby one time.  He found it, picked it up with  his soft mouth and brought it to me.  So sweet.

This is me exactly!  But, I'm finished with that....now on to chores.

    Great Saturday to all!

Been out playing with the dogs, finding a bird's nest with babies in it, and now having my second cup of java while my videos upload.  Later, off to a Native pipe ceremony.  We're dedicating a monument in my town today to the first inhabitants of the town - the Agawam.  Long time coming, 376 years after the town was founded!  But, glad that we are the ones doing honor to those people, none of whom have survived to the present day.  (The Wampanoag are probably the most closely related, and we should have some representatives of that nation with us.)

Same here, was up at 6am. I made coffee and sat on the back stoop and talk to the bunny while the boy did his thing.  I then got dressed and headed to the garden with scissors and a bowl, fresh home grown salad with dinner tonight! I was going to plant today but cannot, it stormed and poured here last night so it is way to wet to till or plant, hopefully it will dry enough to do that tomorrow afternoon.

I just started a load of towels and stuff. Next is making bread, I am going to experiment with freezing it both fully made and in dough form to rise and make later. While the bread is rising for the first time I am going to clean the back porch off, prune my rose plant a bit and weed.

The day looks like it is going to beautiful.

Glenda, don't feel to bad, I don't have a tub, just a shower, and man I miss a good soak.

Good morning everyone.  It's my first Saturday since January that I don't have a class so I'm sort of not sure what to do with myself.

I've got my list of errands as usual.  I also need to call the vet because Willow is waking me up during the night in pain.  So, I've got to find out what we can do.  She seems to have gotten worse with the pain again.  I thought earlier in the week we might be able to cut the meds during the day.  Now, it seems like she needs more.  I'm trying not to get too upset about her.  I sometimes want to scream, why her. . .but I'm trying to remain positive.  We know what this is and we are taking care of it.  That's all I can do, right?

How is your husband doing, Jackie??

Hey, Lori, I hope things turn out okay for Willow.

We're supposed to have a barbecue lunch with friends down in Blue Ridge and then get back up to our neck of the woods since DW has to work the evening shift this evening. Right now, she's just resting. If we don't make it, that's fine with me. I would rather her have the rest.

Work is going fine and it makes weekends something to look forward to. If we can arrange it, we and some friends are going to see Robert Cray and Buddy Guy at the Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK, next weekend. Everyone is going to give me money and I can get the tickets from the box office in front of the event center. Last two nights has been Rodney Carrington, the comedian. They say he's using all new material. But I liked his video, "I think I'm dancing with a man."

"I think I'm dancing with a man/ She's got callouses on her hands/ She's got a voice like Johnny Cash/ Is she hiding a moustache?/ I think I'm dancing with a man ..." At the end of the video, you see the ersatz female is Carrot Top. Priceless.

Lori I missed it ... what's going on with Willow?

Good luck Glenda... I know how hard it is to remain calm and wait!

I'm making scones right now. I think I tried to be a little too creative with the recipe... not a good chef so creativity never gooes well ;)

Willow has lyme's (again) and something that starts with an 'a'. I can't remember. Feel better Willow :(

I just did my FAFSA but I think I did something wrong. My pell grant was $4500 last year, and this year I'm eligible for $1300. Uh oh. It's all because my MOTHER sent her 1040 to the IRS and no one can find it. Sheesh. I had to use her IRS form called 8879. Sheesh. I hate FAFSA!! Aaaahh!

OK. Got that out of my system. Phew.

Got my stitch out yesterday and finally went for a run after a solid week off. It was ugly and I'm kicking myself for being so lazy.

I wish I was grocery shopping, we don't have anything good at my house. We have 'stuff' but it all has to be cooked, LOL.

How is your husband doing, Jackie??

He's doing very well and thanks for asking. :)  We're both up here at my office while he works on one of the computers here.   He goes in for surgery on June 2nd to have the colostomy reversed.  Not sure if you recall that he had that diverticulitis flare up during his hospital stay for the aneurysm.  It's hard to believe that in two days it will be 3 months since the aneurysm.    I've been sending Willow good vibes for her pain.  I saw your post about the Lyme's returning. :(  I didn't know that could happen.

Rex is sleeping on the futon here at work.  I took him to the vet earlier and since my office is literally down the street we combined these two errands.  This being at work on Saturday has me a bit grouchy.  Hopefully we'll be thru soon so I can get home and get some chores done.

Glenda, I don't take baths very often but it is nice to have the option.  I'm glad that your MIL doesn't have to get moved.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.
