Saturday in the park...the mindless park

He's doing very well and thanks for asking. :)

    Woot! good to hear :)

mmmmm Costco.  Love going for "samples" LOL  They had take n bake pizzas on sale last time we were there, and DH would only let me buy two :(

It's raining here, too.  the grass just won't stop growing, ugh.  darn weed n feed, LOL.  DH ran up to Lowe's, we had gotten some solar lights last weekend and two aren't doing their thing.  One won't turn off, the other doesn't get bright enough.  But Lowe's has this stupid policy where they give you your money back even if you want to exchange, and we got them BOGO, so DH might have to argue a bit since I won't pay 2x the price because the product isn't working right.  DH *hates* to argue, and I told him I'd go, but he'd rather do that than clean, mask and paint the last bathroom.

My goal was to be done with house projects before we leave for vacation next Saturday, and all we have left is this bathroom, and staining the retaining wall.  It might just be rain-less enough to do mid-week.  we shall see. Hate when plans are foiled due to weather.

Sammy woke me up early this AM, so I took him down, let him out, and then we crawled back into bed.  DH got up at some point, and of course let him out and fed him, and apparently all the winds and rain must have pushed open the gate to the yard since sometimes it doesn't latch 100%.  So Sam had a bit of an adventure around the neighbor's this AM and I wake up to DH running in to find clothes to go out and grab him.  Sammy is a good boy, and doesn't like rain all too much, so at least it was an easy capture.

    Glenda, thinking of you guys.

Lori, hope Willow is feeling better soon.

    Happy weekend, all.

3 months....good grief.  So happy is doing well!  Big yay for the colostomy reversal!

I'd just like to take a moment to tell you all how much I LOVE my Dyson Vacuum.  But even more so, I love Woolite Carpet Cleaner.  **big sigh** The one  that is marketed as Pet + Oxygen.  That stuff is awesome...it starts working while you are spraying!

    Back to chores.  Smile

I slept until 11 today. How did that happen?

Its so humid here I feel like I'm melting. I'm doing house cleaning and yard work and sweating buckets.

My back yard grass is a foot long. That's going to be fun to mow!

Tomorrow we have another suspected drowned fisherman to search for. So, I need to get everything done today that I have been putting off. Plus there's the art fair going on this weekend, which I love going to. Probably going to have to miss it :(

Lori, I hope Willow is doing OK. All you can do is take care of what you can take care of.

Jackie - I'm so glad that Charles is doing so well and I know he must be anxious for the colostomy reversal. Maybe after that you guys can get away for a bit.

It's sunny here but chilly. It's going to be mid-60s for the next several days and that's just crazy for this time of year here. I think we might even get some rain this weekend - blech!

I'm having a seriously rotten morning and probably should go hide in the closet before I hurt myself. I was putting some chicken in to marinade for later and decided to cook the giblets for Buffy. I put them in a bowl and stuck them in the microwave for a couple min's. Didn't even finish and I heard the splatter, pop sound. Great, I had uck all over the inside of the microwave. Yes, I know to cover things and usually do. Took the glass turntable out to wash it and as I was drying it off, it slipped out of my hands, hit the edge of the sink and chipped a bunch of porcelain off. I thought I could fix it with some porcelain fix we had but the jar is dried shut. While trying to open it, I hear the washer making funny noises. I checked it and it won't spin or agitate. I have a full load of clothes in there that are sopping wet. I guess I'll rinse them out in the tub and hang them out to dry. DH will be home later and I'm hoping that there's an easy fix...but I doubt it. I'd try to fix it myself but I'd probably catch the whole freaking house on fire or electrocute myself Crying

Dang Cathy...you are having a rough morning.  If it makes you feel any better at all...I did something similar the other day...and I'm still reaping the "benefits."  I was microwaving a frozen breakfast english muffin egg sandwich...thinking it was on defrost.  Well, I left alone to come in here and do something on the computer.  Then, I started smelling it.  OMG...the dang sandwich was a crispy smoking mess.  It left the whole front of the house smelling burnt.  And the microwave is ruined, I think.  I'm thankful I didn't start a fire.  Embarrassed

Does anyone have a recipe for pulled pork that is a good recipe?

Yes.  And you know if it's coming from the lady who only has a kitchen because it came with the house that it's gonna be easy. Big Smile I just take a 2 or 3 lb. pork loin (depending on how many people I'm feeding), toss it in the slow cooker, dump a bottle of barbeque sauce on it and set it on low for 8 hrs. When it's done, just shred it up with a couple of forks.  Makes really great pulled pork sandwiches, especially on nice big sour dough rolls.

I certainly didn't expect to have to rummage around in the closet looking for winter clothes to drag back out.  It's almost Memorial Day for doG's sake.  That should mean swimming weather, but it's 61 degrees, breezy and overcast.  There's a neighborhood pot luck this afternoon so I think I'll head off to Costco and maybe snag a carton of that yummy potato salad ... or whatever else catches my eye.

sleepy day here at our house after the trauma Costco on a Saturday - zowie

Anyway I was just settling into a snooze on the couch when Beastie starting vigorously wagging his tail in a dream whacking it against the couch.  thanks Bugs LOL

It did shower a bit this morning and has remained overcast - works for me today

Italian sausage and peppers for dinner - yum yum

Michelle I have a crock pot recipe for pulled pork but can't find it - lots of them on the internet though, crockpot is the way to go.

Lori I am so sorry for Willow and you - poor girl!

Jackie it is hard to believe it is three months and so wonderful that Charles has done so well.  I'll certainly be thinking of you all on the 2nd

OK back to reading and may be a second attempt at a nap

Cathy, due to similar events in the past I'm barely allowed to touch anything in my own home anymore.  DH is always stopping me when he sees me near any "machine", LOL.

Jackie, it's so great that he's doing so well.  He must be so looking forward to getting that reversed!  It's been that long already, wow, where is this year going anyway?

    Sammy, stay in the yard!!

Ron, that should be a good show!  That's the type of stuff my DH likes.

Glenda, I'm trying to keep up with your story too.  I hope you get the call!!

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes for Willow!  I went in to get her food and her vet met with me privately in a room-no dog.  She was a little surprised all this was going on.  The ER place never faxed her anything.  She was saying she would of called me had she known this was going on.  I didn't call her because untilt he pain got worse it's pretty straight forward treatment with a recheck at the end.  But, she's adding Rimadyl to the Tramadol.  And, she's going to look over the blood work and she may up the Doxy too.  She needs an anti-inflammatory she said-for pain and to take down some of the inflammation so her immune system doesn't go crazy again.  Isn't there anything else they give them other than Rimadyl?  That's the only one I ever hear about.  I'm not thrilled she has to take it but what can I do?  She cannot stay like this.  She's not having a good day at all.  She even vomited what little she ate.

    Happy Saturday everyone!

Willow, I hope you feel better! Lexi went through Lyme's disease a few years ago, thankfully it was caught early and she didn't spend much time in pain.  Poor Willow girl!

Glenda, I love your 'bath!'  I'd be doing the same thing LOL.  I hope you hear something soon about the job!

Already went grocery shopping with dd.  She is a ham when you take her places. Chatty with all the other people.  I was in the pet aisle looking at collars and an older man started talking about his chihuahua with such fondness. Was nice talking to him!

Got a couple errands we should do today but happy to just hang out at home for once.  Managed to get the house cleaned up and somewhat more organized last night, that feels better. i can't stand boxes and mess... makes me feel chaotic.

    That's all!

Isn't there anything else they give them other than Rimadyl?

An alternative is Previcox...that's what Buddy is on.  I hope she feels better soon.

I'm having a seriously rotten morning

Oh no!  I had a week where those sorts of things kept happening.  It ended with me finding a hidden pole in a bush with the side of my car Crying  I hope your morning turns around and your doesn't last a whole week like mine did!

We had washer troubles when my folks were visiting, it ended up being that it got off balance, jumped over a brace and was stuck.  But it took DH like 4 hours to figure that out, and boy was it ever making some mean noises in the meantime.

I really wanted a work out tape to get some cardio in (wii fit just doesn't work for that for me) and DH got me jillian michael's 30 day shred for $9, after someone on here recommended it a few weeks back.  I'll give it a go and see how that works out.

What's for dinner?  I'm getting hungry since I mostly skipped lunch since I was painting.

I vastly enjoyed my bath!  Granted it would have been nice to stretch out, but, hey, you take what you can get!

Nothing good has happened today, but then again, nothing bad has happened, so that IS good.  Am focusing on celebrating 27 years together AND MIL staying put for at least 3 months.  This gives me great relief!

It is hotter than the hinges of hades here today, and HUMID to boot.  Am doing a lot of sitting in front of the fans and reading!  Great way to spend a day in my book!

Dinner is......hot italian sausages with fresh corn on the cob all cooked on the grill.

Nicole - I truly hope this is a one day kind of crummy luck thing. A week of this kind of stuff will push me and my bank account over the top.

I googled what would cause it not to agitate or spin and there are several parts that might need to be replaced. So, I can call a repair guy, go buy a new washer or wait for DH to get off on Tues. and have him troubleshoot it (assuming he's interested). The idea of not having a washer for any length of time makes me want to go with the first 2 options. I'd be tempted to go with a new washer but what we have is almond color and that wouldn't be my 1st choice now but I wouldn't want a mis-matched set.

DH went up to BIL's to weld some parts on the motorcycle. They live about an hour from here but he said he'd hoped to be home by noon. It's 3 and he's not home, so I'm hoping that's not a bad sign.

I decided not to bake a cake for DH's BD since the bakery had individual slices on sale for 99 cents. I got him 2 pieces of carrot cake and I got myself a piece of german chocolate - yum!!

We made it through my friend's shower with only a little bit of rain. It didn't pour, and we didn't have to play any stupid shower games.

I asked someone to cover my afternoon hours for today last month. This person apparently completely forgot about this. I only remembered to confirm this with everyone last night. How the heck is that my fault? She's the flake, not me. When I know I can't do my hours, I ask someone to cover it right away, unless of course I get sick and have to cancel late. That rarely ever happens. I think in 3 years, I might have had to cancel in less than 24 hours with this client once.

Uploading the pics, and gonna see what else has gone on today.
