Mindless Sunday

    Mindless Sunday

Cats...yep, here I am at 6:30a on a Sunday because they wanted food.  The bad part is they started pestering me at 4:00a.  Dawn, I saw your post in Saturday chat about yours being the same way.  I don't find it very funny when mine are bratty.  They get destructive in ways that dogs are not and are not so easily managed.  Moose has his funny moments, but I daresay that when these two cross the Bridge, no more cats for me.

Paige, thanks for asking about me yesterday.  I am holding up okay.  I've cleaned all of Agnes's bedding and towels, but not put them away.  Found her pig snout treat in the yard yesterday where she half-buried it.  I've had a cry here and there.  Will try to go to the shelter this morning and hopefully not turn into a big sobbing mess. It was odd not to shop for food and cook for her yesterday.

I've got to take my truck in again tomorrow.  The ABS light stayed off until I hit the highway doing 70mph the other day, so I want it looked at again.  Hopefully they can get it right this time.

Well, that's about it for now.  Dial-up is kicking me off.

I went to a birthday party for a friend's dad yesterday.  The main lure was the litter of six lab puppies she has. :)  I almost OD'd on the puppy breath.  We ate outside and just as we got all the food set out, the no-see-ums emerged. We ate FAST. lol

Tina, I put our cat in the spare bedroom when we go to bed.  I wake up early anyway but I don't want to be woken by him howling for an early breakfast.

Karen, I'm glad you are all having a good time at the beach. :)

No real plans for the day.  Just the routine cleaning, laundry and grocery store.  Have a good Sunday everyone.

Sigh,...yes...cats.....mine are lucky I love them most of the time.

I am feeling fragile today, well it actually started yesterday afternoon. Unknowingly I took the same route to the butcher shop in Bardstown that I took 18 years ago with my mother when I brought her here for her 50Th birthday to see the Kentucky Derby. I cried when I drove past the Jim Beam distillery (we did a tour there), and then when we got to the butcher shop lo and behold directly across the street was the civil war museum and shaker village she and I had also visited. My DH wanted to visit and tour but I could not bring myself to do it, not yet anyway, I promised him we would do it next time we go.

Tina, I strongly believe that my mother was met at the bridge by all the dogs she had loved, but I know Babe was first in line, and I also truly believe they both turned and greeted the little brown dog queen. She is in good hands Tina.

    Hugs to you.

Our cats are the same way and can be very destructive also.  When they want something they want it and if they don't get it from us they will find a way to get it themselves.  My husband loves cats too much for me to say these guys will be it though.

I'm up too, Tina!  I've been up and down with Willow since very early Friday morning.  She's having a really bad weekend. She may need to go to the vet today or tomorrow morning.  I worked yesterday and had a party at night.  And, today I've got to find the energy to run some errands, food shop, straighten up around here a bit(I've already told myself no heavy cleaning, I'm just too tired).  I want to try to be done with everything by 4 or 5 so the entire night will be just resting.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I do not miss that about cats! At least you can teach dogs to leave you alone in the morning ;p

I have SAR training today. The weather looks like it's going to be great,

I wonder how many mousers I trapped last night.

The weather here today is finally beautiful!!  It's been so cold windy and dreary lately.

Tonight for dinner I'm barbequeing a nice  big T=bone steak which Derek and I will share, it's HUGE, barbeque some corn on the cob mmm and baked potatoes!  yum yum.  Then for dessert, Derek wanted apple crisp like Montanas restrauant makes it lol so he bought two glass measuring cups to put it in, and we have vanilla ice cream for it and Derek bought caramel drizzel and chocolate raspberry drizzle lol. mmmm

today there is no plans for us, we got everything from laundry to cleaning to groceries done yesterday.  I'm still in bed with him sound asleep beside me.  I wish it was saturday though!

Bugsy's beach buddy of the morning was a 3 yr old boxer - lots of free wheeling silliness!  At one point he was playing with 5 dogs = Bugsy's nirvana!  I am thrilled to report that he has been superb with everyone and all the dogs, it is sad though that some people (dog owners) clearly fear him and he seems to pick up on that and want to see them & their dogs even more. Ah well.

Jackie no see'ums are the handiwork of the devil - DH calls them flying teeth, I think it is an appropriate image.

No real plans for today, it is once again fantastic weather, 70's, sunny.  It's been well into the 90's at home - amazing that such a short distance away is so much cooler.  I would love to have a place here, this beach is just perfect for us.

    Tina lots of hugs

    Julie have fun!

Karen, which beach are you staying at?  I'm still putting plans together to find a spot to take all 3 of mine to see the beach in the fall.  The only thing I'm a bit worried about is what hotel to stay at.

From Saturday,  Amanda, that story is really sweet.  I hope I can meet someone like that.

Ron, I want to hear your version of Bohemian Rhapsody!  I LOVE that song, too.

My cat is also super naggy.  For food or time in the bathtub to drink tap water.  So annoying.

Good thoughts for everyone who needs them!

I just need to get some cleaning in today.

{{{squeeze}}}  I'd call that a sign.  We get them all the time.  No huge messages necessary.  Just, Hiya...I love you and I'm still around.

No big plans for me today...squishy outside.  I need to finish laundry; color my hair and I'm going to make a crock pot stew today.

I slept amazingly well last night...I woke up only once during the night.  I call that success.

Great Sunday to all!  Good vibes to everyone!

ETA:  Dam cats!  2 of mine are lucky they are so old...13 & 14.  Rocky is 4; and if I had my way...he would be at another loving home.  They drive my nutty.

So bored this morning. I was at someone's until 1, and they decided I should come over later today instead of 9:30 as usual. Umm... I was up at 8:30. Not my fault if you can't at least get up and let me in the door. Your kid went to bed at 9:30, so I'm sure he was up and ready to go. But fine, whatever. You canceled me at 1 AM for 9:30 AM, so I am billing for that.

They don't stock Dora band-aids at the ER.

Yesterday afternoon, I was doing a 'trial run' for a new client. Before I was even in the house, this GSD had his nose out the door and bit me. Chomped down right on my upper thigh. His left upper canine made a puncture, and there are distinct bruises where his other 3 canines hit, plus both his upper and lower front teeth. All of em.

I called my boss and she met me at the ER. I could either let them flush it, and no stitches, or get the lidocane, let them flush it, and get 1 stitch. After the incredible amount of fun I had when they flushed my last dog bite, I chose the drugs. Go on, guys, say it, 'I didn't think you stitched dog bites'. Neither did I, LOL, but apparently it was big enough and in a place where there was a lot of tension on it, so the doc wanted to put 1 loose stitch in so it would heal sometime this century. I was SO SCARED of getting stitches, but it really wasn't that bad! When I was done I asked for a Dora band-aid, and the nurse told me they don't stock those.

We are obviously not taking this client.

Now, moving on, I won't laugh at Amanda's DH. I've been 'taught' (I use the term loosely) how to drive stick several times and still refuse to do so.

I didn't get home until 3am yesterday... and yet, I was still up at 9. What is up with that?!

My cats are free fed - that means - no waking me up early in the morning for food :) we just top them off before bed.

The weather has done a complete 180 for the better.  Slept with the window open for a change.  That meant the curtain was pulled back a bit.  Between the sunrise and the hungry cat(s) I was awake at 5.  I liked the open window...so I got up and just kicked the cats out of the room, shut the door and went back to bed Wink  They eat raw and thus nave two scheduled meals.  During the week, breakfast is served at 5.  They have NO idea what a weekend is !

Rode my motorcycle to work.  Beautiful day for it!!

My cats are mad at me because I'm making them stay in the bathroom while the dogs are out in the RV during the day while we're moving stuff.  My duck is mad at me because we needed to take apart her table so her crate is on the floor.  My dogs are mad that they are in the RV.  And, it seems that mother nature is mad at me since she just let loose with hail and hellious rain just as we were getting ready to put the couch in the back of a pick up truck.

    Sigh.

    ((((Tina & Dawn))))

Meg, should I send you some Dora band aids?

I have a good cat.  He's content to sleep until we wake up, & he usually doesn't cause problems.  I think that it might be because he fears that, if he rocks the boat, we'll let the dogs have him.  He isn't aware that the dogs are a bit afraid of him, & know better than to make an attempt on his life.

Shooter woke me up at 5:15 this morning wanting to snuggle.  Shoe isn't a snuggler unless he has done something wrong.  This morning, he had chewed & destuffed Angel's bed.  Poor Angel looked terribly upset & confused that her bed was in a million pieces all over the floor.  Once I got the mess cleaned up, I was wide awake, so the dogs & I snuck out & went on an early morning hike.  We had a good time, & it was nice to go early so that there were not many people on the trail.  Everyone except Brutus got to run around off leash, which means that, now, everyone is tired & napping.  Well, everyone except Bevo, who continues to drop his cuz into my lap.
