They don't stock Dora band-aids at the ER.
Yesterday afternoon, I was doing a 'trial run' for a new client. Before I was even in the house, this GSD had his nose out the door and bit me. Chomped down right on my upper thigh. His left upper canine made a puncture, and there are distinct bruises where his other 3 canines hit, plus both his upper and lower front teeth. All of em.
I called my boss and she met me at the ER. I could either let them flush it, and no stitches, or get the lidocane, let them flush it, and get 1 stitch. After the incredible amount of fun I had when they flushed my last dog bite, I chose the drugs. Go on, guys, say it, 'I didn't think you stitched dog bites'. Neither did I, LOL, but apparently it was big enough and in a place where there was a lot of tension on it, so the doc wanted to put 1 loose stitch in so it would heal sometime this century. I was SO SCARED of getting stitches, but it really wasn't that bad! When I was done I asked for a Dora band-aid, and the nurse told me they don't stock those.
We are obviously not taking this client.
Now, moving on, I won't laugh at Amanda's DH. I've been 'taught' (I use the term loosely) how to drive stick several times and still refuse to do so.
