Mindless Sunday

    • Gold Top Dog

Today's chat is aimed at kitties.  Rocky is Mr. Bitey.  At least he doesn't do it while I sleep.  Typically, its while we are sitting on the couch watching tv.  He will do a drive by biting on Mom's toes most of the time; it doesn't hurt...just startles her.  He does it because it knows he will get a reaction from her.  lol.  The other night he had me as his target.  But, what he was doing was head butting my boob, then he'd try to bite it.  Little bugger.

I've got beef stew in the crock pot, I've made breakfast burritos...DH is cleaning out the garage refrigerator as well as the entire garage.  He told me he would like for me to keep it this way...and waited for a response.  Tee Hee.  I told him..."you don't want me lieing to you do you?'"  He was not amused.  Devil

Its time for me to go layout by the pool with a magazine.  Mother Nature has fooled the weather peeps.  Its nice and sunny at the moment.  But, that could change on a dime.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, everyone!

I'm scratching just READING about everyone's cats ! *sigh*

This has been laundry weekend but the bedding is clean all the way to the waterbed matress.  phew. (big blankets are such a pain because they off-set the washer constantly. *sigh*)

have felt cruddy all weekend -- something out there is making my sinus's nuts and it's trying to cross the divide between allergy and flu -- yuck.

stained shirts that I have to de-stain await.  such fun!! LOL

We feed our cats at night before bed. They've never once been noisy in the morning.

Meg, should I send you some Dora band aids?

I found Disney princesses at Walgreens last night, thank-you-very-much :)

If we're talking cats, there is the most HANDSOME cat, ever, at our shelter. He's all white, deaf, and has a bobtail. They named him 'Mozart', LOL. [http://www.sevhs.com/2010/03/mozart-male-white-long-hair/] Isn't he the best looking cat, ever?! Poor guy's been there since March.

Hmm cats - Well Simon the cat must have a flea. He's allergic to fleas, hence the bumps... so I frontlined him.

So, I'm not to be trusted with anything mechanical - BF left for the day to work on rafting stuff. First I decided to mow the lawn... hit wire buried in the grass, mower went *boom* , and doesn't start. Then, I thought, why not till the garden? So, went off to get tiller, started tiller, started to till... tiller stalled. I went to restart it and *boom* flames shooting out the side. Really? These things could only happen to me.

Called BF, he asked "did you check the oil? how many times have I told you to check the oil before starting that thing "... my response "errrr.. right so I'll wait til you get here." Then he says "why don't you pull out the mower so I can look it over before we use it this year, pull it out, don't start it ..." I couldnt' bear to tell him the first mishap though I think he'll notice when he sees half the lawn mowed with the mower sitting in the middle.... uh oh.

I had a nice day of nothingness just hanging with my friend took her girls and Blue out for a long walk then later on another friend of ours met up at her place to hang get caught up on each others lives since we once see her once out of the year. Didn't get home till 5am it was nice to chill play wii and for once be like kids again.

I need to clean house which I'm not feeling it oh well. Last night we almost had another incident over nothing with Cadey thankfully we where able to get her before she got Blue. We are stuck trying to figure out how to get her to vet place the pit bull rescue wants to go to get her spayed this Friday hard to do with no license or anyone willing to help. Hopefully fingers crossed that BF hears something from his friend that breeds and shows pit bulls that she can help us find a home for her.

I learned how to mow today lol.  I've been oh so lucky to not have to learn until now (dad did it when I lived at home, and I lived in apartments until I got married), but with DH in the new town for two weeks I had no choice.  I couldn't get the darn thing started (it's a push mower, not riding) so DH suggested using ether on the spark plugs and that seemed to work - after I got all the cursing out of my system trying to start it without.  I was so ticked at the darn mower and the weeds in the yard that I mowed the whole yard in about half the time it takes DH!

I got a ton accomplished before 1pm, then DH and I watched Clerks 2 on the couch and he headed back to the new house, with foster dog in tow, around 3:15.  I miss him s much already...

I won't laugh at Amanda's DH. I've been 'taught' (I use the term loosely) how to drive stick several times and still refuse to do so.

When I was in HS, there were three or four cars for Driver's Ed.... (if you think my mom let me behind the wheel before I was legal, you're wrong.  The very first time I was in the car, Coach Lee told me to start the car and I didn't know how. lol)  Aaanyway, one or two were almost always in the shop, which left one automatic and one or two standards that had to be push-started.  We got a whopping 15 mins of driving time to split w/our teams on the nice days, so I opted for the automatic to get as much practice in as possible.  I only took my driver's license test once, thank you.  No failures here.  So, although I know the "hows" of driving a standard, I've never done it, either.

Tina & Dawn, I was looking at sympathy cards today (an associate lost both his father and then his mother within 2 weeks, plus a dog), and so many of them I wished I could send to you... they had such nice sentiments about how people are caring for you, especially in the days after.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I need to get back outside in the SUNSHINE!  After days of rain and only smidgens of sun over the past week, it is necessary.  Particularly if I'll be back to working a regular weekday shift.  Plus, I left popcorn out on the table and I suspect the birds are out there stealing it.  Enjoy the day, all!

Heather, good thoughts for your friend on her homevisit from Bulldog Rescue!!  ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~happy vibes~*~*~*~*~*~*

When *I* was in HS, the semester that I was signed up for Driver's Ed, they ran out of funding for a Driver's Ed class. They changed the class to 'Outdoor Education' and I spent an entire semester walking out to the bridge and ''fishing''.

Aww, that sucks - were you at the old school?  PS, Clean Up at the old school on May 22nd.... if I still lived in FL, I'd be there.  Hey, Meg, did you have Mr. Femmer for any science classes?

Moonlight we are at Atlantic Beach

Poor Bugsy has worn himself out - which is fine - but his back legs are DONE.  I'm tired of seeing my boy in pain.  Guess we are back at the surgeon's this week.

I've re-done another favorite song of mine that I did before. As I learn about the mic I have and the audacity software, I get a little better and working with it. This is a favorite song of mine and it reminds me of my days at University of Texas at Arlington. This was the first big hit for the australian group, Men at Work. Colin Hayes, the singer, still plays this song today, with a single guitar acoustic arrangement. Mine is similar. On this one, I put a phaser on the guitar track. Nothing on the vocal. However, I did overload the mic and I could see the waveform in the track guide maxed out. Oh well, I can't help but break glass.

I Originally recorded and uploaded this song here as a tribute to our member, Corvus. But also extend it to anyone from New Zealand, if we have any kiwis here.

I'm here Ron Smile! I am looking forward to hearing the track when I get home from work Smile. Love Down Under!

Re: driving "stick" . Here a lot of people learn on manuals/stick shifts, rather than autos- males especially seem to have a bias... I think manual cars are actually more expensive here than autos because of the preference.

I personally refuse to drive an auto  - cars moving when my foot isn't on the accelerator frreeeeaaakks me out!  I used to have nightmares about cars driving themselves when I was younger so that's probably why...

     Having a super-slow Monday....*sigh* Can't wait to finish work.

I went out to the Hibachi Grill today. I love going there with the friend I went with, because she doesn't eat any of the vegetables, so I get to take all of hers home with me, plus her bean sprouts and mushrooms, since she doesn't eat those either. All she eats is her meat and rice. I also get part of her soup and salad because she won't finish those either.

I thought I remembered you and that you were from the paradise described by Heinlein in his book, "Friday." He fairly fell in love with Christchurch, at least as it was in the late 50's and early 60's, when he and his wife travelled around the world a few times. So, yes, "Down Under" is for you, as well.
