Saturday Chat.

    Saturday Chat.

OK, I am starting today's chat because I need to get back into a routine.

Anyone want some cats? I have 2 and they cleaned everything off my nightstand in efforts to remind me that it was breakfast time! Even my lamp the little boogers.

I had to revive and Dr. several plants I had around the house, the hubby did a great job while I was gone but he has no clue about "green leafy things". Not to mention I brought several home with me.  I will give him a break since he went with me to the garden last night to re till my plot. I managed to get 100 plants in the ground before the next slew of rain is suppose to hit. I cried last night. I had let the garden master know that I was leaving town for a bit and why, he and his wife took care of all my cole crops while I was gone. I was very touched.

I have to find something to do for the next few hours, the windshield guys are due between now and noon. I hope by calling in on Monday I'm first on the list! We are heading to Bardstown right after that so I can hit the butcher shop. My freezer has been defrosted and cleaned in prep for that as well.

Glenda? any word yet? I am saying little prayers for you daily.

Ok, will check back in later.

No thanks on the kitties!  Sammy would have fun, though.

How nice of them to care for your crops!  My DH has no idea about anything green, although I've killed bamboo and aloe before so I guess I'm not much better - but I'm learning.  Putting in some veggies this year :)

I'm about to get started painting!  Yay, I love to paint and I love the fresh, clean look.  It's just the bathrooms, but it's a start.  I'll do the half today (blue) and the primer on the upstairs (it's gonna be red so needs gray primer) and then tomorrow I can do the red, probably two coats.  The last bath, ours, will probably be next weekend since DH has some repairs to fix up. I think I want to do the kitchen next but we have an open floor plan so harder to figure out where to start and stop the colors.  Maybe an earthy green would look nice.

    Glenda, still thinking of you!

    Have a good day, everyone.

Hi Dawn!  Hi Nicole.  Shoot, I was going to ask you if you wanted 3 more cats.  I love my cats, but its an issue around here.  I've got to keep them separated from Heidi.

We got some of that torrential rain yesterday evening...high winds and lightning was unbeleivable.  The weatherman reporting 100s of ground strikes just in my area alone.  And, DH has this terrible habit of wanting to take care of things during a storm.  Indifferent  Its the things that need to be done PRIOR to a rain storm that we just don't think about until its an issue.  Clean out gutters, caulk the gutters to prevent leaks, etc.  So, he gets out there ON the ladder cleaning out gutters while its raining.  The man is going to drive me to drink.  Oh wait, he already did.

My yard is completely ripped up.  We have landscapers installing automatic sprinkler systems...which will be great once they are done.  Aside from that, they will be adding rock borders, adding grass and planting some shrubs.  It will be nice...but they need to hurry up and get it done please.

Taking Mom to the beauty parlor this morning to have her shampoo and set.  Then back home to do laundry.  Exciting day planned.  WooHoo.  I decided not to go on the motorcycle rally.  DH doesn't want to go because of the work being done around here...and honestly the roads are slick.  There's always next time.

Poor Barb, I take it Heidi thinks cats are stuffies? Kord might have if the cats had not trained him well. They chased and ganged up on him when he was a pup. They now play like siblings. My oldest cat Smokey will even lay with him and clean his ears.

I almost forgot, I found a picture of the first Kord when we were going through looking for other things, will post it when I get a chance.

We are just about moved in to the new house in CA.  Got most all of the heavy moving done now, thank goodness.  Proabably about 8 boxes left to go, hang pictures, organize and put away.  The upstairs and downstairs are both messes yet!   Have big plans for the very small fenced backyard. Going to make it my pretty landscaped dog/pig lawn and herb garden.  The entire back can be guinea pig proofed, wiht only one corner needing to be patched so they can't get under the fence.  Then I can just let them run to their hearts' content out there.

Hu-kids are handling everything well.  I start homeschooling with them next week, while Evoli's is pretty informal (preschool), Noah will be finishing up K.  I'm nervous about it but optimistic and Noah is excited about it. He helped pick out the table and bookshelf for the school room and I have everything just about arranged in there.

The bichon girls are fine.  I am finding I forget to let them in from the backyard because they don't have their Gobie doorbell.  I mentioned his name once, and since both girls are constantly following me, Lexi heard me say his name and went absolutely bonkers. She was wagging her tail and barking up a storm like 'yes! i want to see him!'  Really is sad. Although I do think we all might be a lot more sad if we hadn't moved right after.

Unpacking, I saw his crate and toys, which had already been packed before he died.  I put it in a pile, I am not sure I'm ready to get rid of that stuff, especially his little coat. It still has some of his hairs in it. those soft, silky red hairs.  I cannot believe he's gone. he's always been with us. Everywhere we go.    I wonder how long it will be.... I cry at least once a day about him. Would be nice to get down to crying much less.

OTher than that- Monterey is effing COLD!!   50-70 degrees all the time. It's been 50/60 since we've been here and a cold sea breeze.  I guess I was expectin warm and sunny. It's been cold and foggy and grey since we've been here.

    Oh well.

Just hanging in there. Gld to have internet back up.

    Great to 'see' everyone again!

    Good morning all!

No word yet, but, it could be that the guy didn't reach the references he wanted to, could be a lot of things, so I'm not letting go of hope yet.

Today the furniture moves into storage so will be a busy and not so fun filled day, but, at least I'm ready for it and if I have to sweat like a field hand again today, tomorrow I won't need to!

Its true yes.  Even with the other GSDs I've had in the past...she is the first one who has this high of a prey drive.  I take blame though because (stupidly) I didn't take the proper measures in introducing her to the cats when she was itty bitty.  Her first introduction to the cats was chasing one off the porch into the woods.  And, that was it for life.  Must. Chase. Cat.  I just don't trust it.  One of my biggest regrets.

If you're used to really hot summers, you'll be disappointed but it does get warm there. Fall is actually the best time of year there. I love the area truly but they do get more fog than I would care for. Still, it's such a beautiful area. If you haven't visited Carmel yet, you'll like it there. It's my favorite area and I'm sure you'll want to see Big Sur too.

I need to get busy cleaning but I really feel like sitting here and watching mindless tv. I slept until almost 7 this morning and I'd gone to bed around 10, so that's a good night's sleep for me. I should feel revved up and ready to go, but I don't. I am going to pack up winter clothes today and bring out the summer stuff. That always puts me in a good mood, especially when I unpack something cute that I forgot I had.

Glenda - I'm still thinking good thoughts for you.

Family has been down last weekend and this week.  So I'm tired.  I slept WAY late, and am just recuperating.  I need to get some cleaning in as well.

I've not been planning to add another dog at all until I can add a dane that is small dog safe from a rescue, but there is a crestie at our local humane society who has been there about a month.  I'm thinking of going to 'meet' him today.  Pray for my strength!

My sick co-worker feels much better so she was back.  I'm so happy.  She's such a wonderful lady.  I need to brainstorm a way to make this a special birthday for her.  It's in 2 weeks.

Just a quick post here since I am on my way out the door again.

I was at the Sunoco getting gas and went in for a soda. The woman in front of me was pregnant. The cashier was asking her about the baby, and I guess asked what she was going to name it. The lady said she was naming the baby Rex, after T-Rex, because it's the toughest of all the dinosaurs. I do love the T-Rex, but not quite that much.

I finally got answers to why my ankle has been swollen for two years now. I have an old injury (probably when my ankle first started to swell up 2 years ago) well I now have a piece of bone that looks like it broke off and its just sitting there.

Now I gotta go see an orthopedic and the doctor said to see a podiatrist as well. He also said I have I believe he called it a bone spur on the bottom of my foot, he asked if it hurt I said no he said well it will in a few years.

    I pray I won't need surgery.

    Have a good weekend everyone

Having a great time at the beach - Bugsy has a new best friend called Mac - a year old field lab.  Mac is without a doubt the most water crazy dog I've met - lots of fun! I was amazed that Bugsy has been swimming in the sea this time. The water is rough so it is even more surprising to me. Mac dives into the breaking waves LOL Crazy

Its sunny but not too hot so we lucked out completely. Taking a little break from all the wet fun at the moment.

It is VERY fortunate that I don't have a cat and don't want one - Bugsy is beyond intense with cats.   It would not be a manageable situation :-(

Glenda I hope this lead comes through for you!

OK time for a snack Smile

Glenda it's always been MY experience that job offers never come in on a schedule.  It's like people tell you a "when" they'll call because they think they need to and then it's guilt producing after that.  I just don't THINK about deadlines at all -- it's easier and less stressful that way.

So ... if you have to unpack ... you have to -- but it's keeping you busy?? *sigh* There's no easy answer there but you ARE getting tons of prayers here!!

Good luck with the lead Glenda.  All the good luck vibes I got are coming your way!  :)

I woke up thinking about Tina today....  Tina, how are you holding up these days?

Dawn, that's so kind of the garden master to take care of your crops.  How are you feeling?  How's your dad - do your siblings live close enough to him to drop in on him?
