Saturday chat

We're off to the ball park with the dogs.  Fingers crossed that the little leaguers are through for the day.

I'm on call this weekend. Someone called me at 3:30 in the morning because her dog's leg muscle was twitching. She didn't want to come in to see a doctor, and it wasn't causing any pain, just wanted to know why it might be twitching. I was beyond irritated.  I have no problem being called in the middle of the night if someone wants to see a doctor, for whatever the reason may be. But to call for the heck of it is just rude... I also want to know who is even looking at their dog at 3:30 in the morning  to know what a leg muscle would be doing.

Wow, maybe she assumed there was someone sitting by the phone waiting to answer inane questions at that unholy hour.  Some people seem to think that they need instant answers, 24/7, no matter how dumb the question.  Poor dog's leg is probably twitching because his owner won't leave him alone so he can sleep. lol

Jan that craigslist page didn't work for me.

eta that I thought we were heading to the ball park.  Charles is out back trimming......Even though I'm a bit peeved, since this wasn't in the plan, it's incredibly fantastic that he's able to do this. :)

We are now in Lake Isabella, CA. About 6 hrs from Monterey. We are camping here- did last night and today and tonight, then leave for Monterey in the morning. It's very windy .I  hope the tent holds up! The dogs are nervous, they've never camped before and have no idea what is going on, but still taking it in stride.

Missing Gobie of course. I had to monitor him in these sorts of situations because he could be such a handful. Anyway, feeling sad that he's 5' under and we're here on the other side of the country.    This may take a while to get over.

Anyway, hoping the housing deal goes well and we get into a house quickly.

    Thinking of everyone!!

    Shammy.

Shammy, good to hear you guys are ok.  I know you'll be glad to get settled in.

All I have to do is whip the cream and we'll be eating our strawberry shortcake.  Big Smile

    • Gold Top Dog

I'm going to make some chocolate chip cookies!

Jackie, glad to read your husband is doing so well!

    • Gold Top Dog

Glad that ya'll are doing ok, Shammy!

Jackie, two words for ya......Cool Whip!  (Cool Whip is also good for other things......ie. not strawberry shortcake!) Wink

    . . .cookin' with cool whip. . .did I say that????Idea

Oh, that was REALLY a nice day.  Really REALLY enjoyed that.  Of course, the critters were NOT happy with us for leaving them home alone.  Oh well.

Yes you did!!!!!!  and I almost peed myself because of it!

This afternoon I taught Cher to "come see me."  Now, she will jump up into my arms when I say it.  Nothing screams "insane" more than someone who teaches her 60 pound puppy to do such a thing.....

BE CAREFUL Amanda!!! 20 lb Emma hurt me, a few times, leaping at me to jump into my arms when I didn't expect it. I taught her, as a puppy, and it never really went away until she couldn't jump, any more. Occasionally, she'd just feel the urge, and fly into my arms. If you're not expecting it, OUCH.

I am BEAT. I stayed in tonight... was probably a very good idea...

I coached for the first time this morning in over a year - was great to be back out there with the kids! I really missed them :(

I've rented a movie (thank you red box!) hopefully it's a good one...and I have puppy pictures to post. I should work on that!

Yeah, I thought about the possibility of unexpected jumps after I had taught her.  I'm hoping that, since I don't plan on using it as a reward for other things, it will just be another thing that she knows how to do.  DH is referring to her as the "concussion waiting to happen."

LMAO! I did use it as a reward, for Em, since she loved doing it, so much. Good luck, with that.

    A little rant.....

It's bad enough that I have to describe the type of ears my dogs have as "penis" ears, but now the name of a dog food can't be used because it's the shortened form of Richard???????

    Holy Moly!

And yes, Amanda, I had a similar soggy reaction to Lori!

When Gracie was about Cher's age, a friend and trainer taught Gracie to jump on your back and bite your head if you run past her and duck a bit.  She still does it to this day, and clearly thinks its funny.

And Glenda, those words have been in place since before the forum converted in '07, so nothing really new. :)

OMG, I am in so much pain, I'm gonna die!!  I walked right into the treadmill. . .instant bruise.   And, I am in PAIN!!  I'm not even drinking over here tonight. . .I'm just stupid!  Willow heard me and came in to check me out. She took one look, gave me a look like "I got up for this" and walked away.  This is why I need one of those dobermans!
