Mother's Day plans?

    Mother's Day plans?

If anyone wants to share theirs...

I attended my son's classes "Muffins for Moms" this morning. Very sweet. The kids worked hard to actually MAKE the muffins we ate (delicious!) and they served us all like little waiters...too adorable. They read a poem for us then sang Skinamarink. Lovely time to share with the kiddo.

Tomorrow promises to be a bit busy. Morning time hopefully I get to open my presents (Saturday is my Birthday)...then we take the kittens over to the Rescue Office to they can get their shots and they will be staying there pending their s/n's and adoptions. So we come home to just ONE, foster, Flopsy. I am grateful...the litterboxes for 6 cats were KILLING ME.

Then we will see if the kids can make swimming class. There should be a break in there someplace then in the evening we're attending the Texas Rangers game as a family...another Birthday gift.

Sunday, Mother's Day itself, I'll hopefully get to pick breakfast lol...then open the rest of the presents and then head over to Mom's to give her her's. I am looking forward to seeing her face when she opens the Photobook I made with the kids pics in it. She's gonna cry I just know it! Then the day is pretty much open. Maybe some yardwork if the weather permits...dinner out.

I have to say this Mother's Day "feel" like I have really earned it. I worked my tail fur off this year getting things sorted with the boy and wrestling with various doctors and decisions. I didn't do it alone by any means but my Mom Muscles are especially tired this year...and I am more than ready for a day of Appreciation LOL!

On a more serious note, I know this one will be super tough for some of my friends here...and I want them to know I am thinking of them this weekend, too! ((hugs))

I mailed my foster mom's gift the other day (she's in Florida).  I have no plans.  My son may call me.

I wanted to say that this is sweet, Gina.  I really enjoy when kids do things from their hearts, with that child's joy, and aren't at the age yet where mom is too embarrassing.

It was very sweet. Elias was very happy I was there...he gets even more shy when he feels affectionate but he kept hugging me and touching my face lol. Very cute. He said to me when the teacher announced the end of the year party at a nearby park "you are going to come Mommy because you come to everything at my school" big smile.

It's wonderful to be able to do just that. I am lucky!

Happy Early Mother's Day, Tina Smile

Gina, sounds like a nice weekend planned.  You most definitely deserve a little pampering. :)

Both our moms are deceased and we don't have any two legged kiddos.  I've tried dropping hints to the dogs that they should get me something but last time I did that, I got a gnarly looking slobbery stick.  lol

Happy Mother's Day to all my friends here who are mom's.  Smile

I'm in the same boat almost as Jackie -- no human kids and David's answer is "I'm BRITISH -- Mother's Day is not for dogs!" (*rolling my eyes* LOL).

My Mom has macular degeneration so gift-giving gets tough.  I sent her a basket of daffodils from Harry & David (you get to watch them grow inside) and she was tickled with it.  I also send her money for Mother's Day (this is the only instance I do this) so she can go out and splurge on plants for her garden.  She truly enjoys it and her garden is something she can pretty well do by "feel".  She and Papa are up in western NY (w/me in FL) so this works.

Unusually I was early sending Mom her card (which somehow racks up points with her LOL).  So I'm sure today she'll be at the nursery!

I know it's going to be a difficult Mother's Day for a few -- but Gina, I think we ALL feel a bit maternal towards Elias this year!!

I mailed my mom a card yesterday, and that's about it.  Wait, I watched Good Morning America's reward to a mom - breakfast in bed - and it was not a comfortable surprise for the poor woman.

Gina, I like the Muffins for Moms!  So sweet!

So, Gracie was born on Mother's Day in 2003, so on the 12th, I'll be celebrating her birthday.

yyyeah. The list of "People approved to view me first thing in the a.m." is short indeed...and NO ONE, would dare bring a camera. LOL!!

Here's a pic from FB I sent from my phone of Eli and I in class...camera phone, so it's blurry, lol.

I sent my mother a card, & we sent a card, flowers & an edible arrangement to DH's mom.

Tomorrow, we are bbq-ing for the kids grandma/my aunt.  We all got her a gift, & tomorrow is going to be her day.

Sunday, the boys & I are going to visit their mom's grave.  We're also going to stop in & see my grandma's, both who are like moms to me.

Well, she was at work at a big hospital... but she immediately ran away and hid her face.  Emeril Lagasse GRABBED her arm and held her really tight while he dragged her back to a video monitor to show her the piece they did interviewing her children, etc.  As soon as her adult/teenage children came out from hiding, she wrenched herself from Emeril's grip to run to her kids.

dang Emeril! I'd have had to get all debutante on him:

"UNHAND ME...AT ONCE YOU CAD!" then thwacked him upside his buffoonish head, with my parasol. Umbrella

We are all taking DH's mom out to dinner Sunday night and she's asked for no gifts. I asked DH to pick up a card for her this week and was really surprised at what a sweet card he chose. I usually go for the funny kind, so I think I'll let him handle this from now on. His mom will gush when she reads it :)

I guess I should add that last week, when my son was home for the night, and we were having dinner with the neighbor, he did express how much he appreciated that I tried to keep him in line as a teen.  He said he hated it then, but now he understood why I did what I did.  We had our share of struggles, compounded by his bi-polar disorder and the loss of his dad (ds was angry at me for his death).  There were times I wished my doc would check me into the psych ward for a few days so I could have a break from the turmoil.  But, at the end of the day, it was nice to hear that my son recognized I did not do what I did out of hatred.

Bought my mom an outfit & sandals, gonna make her dinner on mother's day.  That's about it. Happy Mother's Day

Awww, it's one of those things that some men are just really good at, eh???  My ex's dad picked out my birthday card from him & his wife and it was beautiful!  I think it's a sign of a good man. :)
