Mindless Tuesday!

    Mindless Tuesday!

I will start it today Big Smile  Today is "May the 4th be with you" lol.  I said that to Derek this morning, and he really didn't look amused.

From yesterdays - Glenda, everyone else is right, do not feel demoralized at all!!!  God knows how much money you have paid in taxes!

Amanda's assistant job doesn't sound too bad.  It's about the same as what I do here, but add in legal work, helping her kids with their projects/homework, researching school assignments for her kids (did I mention one graduated highschool last year? Stick out tongue), sitting at her house waiting for utility/appliance people lol.  I know how to break into her house, and have had to search through her son's room for books he needed at school and have had to go into her underwear drawer to get cheques lol.  oh, and driving her kids and/or their friends to and from school or houses lol.  And there is no company car haha.  But I get paid mileage.  It's hard to complain, though, I get paid much higher than other law offices would pay me lol.

Another day another doctor appt for Riley...sigh.  This one isn't too bad, just the eye doctor.  Kids with arthritis have a high likelihood to develop inflamed retinas which can lead to blindness if left untreated.  The good news is I get to work from home today.

Big news around here is she went poo poo in the poddy yesterday!  YEAH!!  DH called me at work totally excited.  I of course announced it to my whole department and every one yelled out cheers!!  We have to be potty trained ready to start school in September...slowly but surely we'll get there!

Glenda - everyone is right, do not feel bad!!!  Its the people that have been on public assistance their whole lives because they don't want to work that should feel bad, not you!!!

Tonight  is swimming class number 3.  She did fairly well on Thursday.  I could hear her crying the whole time but the teacher said she 100% participated even through the tears.

Everyone have a good day.  The weather here is amazing!

Yep, just read Amanda's post yesterday about the temps she interviewed to feel better about your situation.

In fact, maybe you could be Amanda's assistant...Wink

I'm a little ticked this morning.  The room I booked for our store managers' meeting was not prepared at all.  In fact, it was still dirty from the previous day.  I booked it six weeks ago, emailed the manager, and called twice to make sure all was set.  She never replied, so corporate is getting a call.

The glass sculpture artist, Chululy (sp?), his work is on display in Grand Rapids until September, so am going to try to go see it.

Deb, I hope you are in a better mood today.

Lisa, good luck with Riley's eye appt. today.  And YAY RILEY, using the potty to poop!  You're a big girl now!  Next you'll be driving!Automobile

Go!  His work is fantastic.   Borrow a camera because you will want pictures.  I took a ton of pictures at the Phoenix Botanical Gardens when he had his work featured throughout the park.

Riley!!!  Way to be a big girl.  Good luck at the eye doctor with her today, Lisa.

I'm leaving in a few minutes for a pointless meeting with some city people who oversee our contracts.  What a waste of time but it seems some people consider meetings helpful.  I consider them huge time wasters most of the time.

I'm hoping Dawn has a safe drive.

Lauren, that's pretty funny.  May the 4th be with YOU!. lol

Wow.  We got 3 or 4 inches of rain through the day and night.  It *might* be done.....sun is trying to peak through......what was really wierd is that the storm actually woke me up twice in the night.  That is really unusual for ANY thing to wake me up, other than the rude bladder and that has quite a fight to get me awake.

Worried about a friend and his family.  We haven't been able to reach him for over a week.  Voicemail is full......hope they are ok.

Corky laid an egg for us yesterday.  Been awhile...she goes by streaks and then stops for a few weeks.  A truly beautiful egg....that's the good for yesterday, but by golly I'm gonna hang on to it.  Oh, and MIL was quite coherent after dinner last night.  Usually if DH doesn't reach her after breakfast she's out of it, so that's a big improvement.

Yea Riley!!  Good luck today Lisa it must all be stressful

Gosh Glenda we could have used that rain - we only got bits and pieces but I'll take it!

Bugsy had his first bike ride today since last summer - only 1/2 mile but he was happy.  Feel like we have really been testing his legs in the last 10 days or so and so far no limping.  I think he's a bit sore and clearly tired but that is OK

Keep thinking of Dawn, poor lady.

I need to get my mom a card today, I haven't any idea what to get her.  I usually get some plants for her but I already did that for her birthday last month......

I feel much better today.  Mr. W has decided to step away from the dark side and join me in the light.  Only took about 9 thousand whacks of the 2 x 4.

Go Riley girl !!!!  Poopin' on the potty is a BIG deal.

Lisa:  when Kate was around 6 or 7 she kept complaining that school made her head hurt.  It only took me about 6 freaking months to figure out she needed glasses, despite the fact that every single member of my family wore glasses/contacts.  So good for you for staying on top of it.

I'm gonna go out and try to get something for my mom today. My friend's mom has this really cool electric kettle that changes colors as it heats up. I know my mom, she would be fascinated with it. Plus, it would be good for tea and stuff like that. We got her a card already, but I have no idea if my sister knows where it is. We got one from the dogs, and one from us. I think ours is Elmo, but I don't remember. I also need to go buy my friend a present. Her birthday is on Friday. I think I will go get her a soccer jersey, but she also wanted a sweatshirt that I have from my school. I don't know if I want to get that though, because her birthday is Friday, and I won't be up there till Friday. If they don't have it, I'll have to run on Saturday to try to get her the jersey. I might buy the jersey, and if I can get the sweatshirt, I'll return the jersey. Since my school is in Boston, she'll never get there to get her own one. She can get her own jersey though, and will if I don't buy it for her.

    Good luck baby girl!

Elias has his eye appt Thursday. I hope he cooperates. You have no IDEA how frustrating it is to know your kid cannot see but they will NOT read the smeggin' chart because they are stubborn so the doc has to guesstimate their scrip LOL! *calming thoughts* We'll be okay...both of us. LOL!

Nothing much on tap today. Sending good vibes to those who need them and hoping everyone has a nice Tuesday!

My FH didn't looked amused either. Stupid boys and no sense of humor.

I think I'm moving to Amanda's. Pirate wouldn't like living with a whole bunch of dogs, so we'd have to get an apartment :) but that's OK. Tiki can stay with FH.

Yay for poo in the potty haha!

I got to escanaba around 11:30 last night. I stopped nearly every hour and once we got to the UP I pulled off and took the dogs for a small hike on part of the north country trail. Has anyone heard of that trail? I've always wanted to backpack it. its 1000 miles long or something like that. This part was gorgeous. Very thickly wooded with northern pines. I was a little worried that the dogs would sniff out a bear though!

Anyway, the point of all that is that I'm totally tired! Lily is not a good dog to take camping or hoteling. She barks at noises that I can't even hear. And of course in a hotel people are always coming and going. So, I got to sleep around 2 am and was up every hour or less with lily barking. She doesn't bark loud, its a small woof but when she does it she comes to me like "mom! Somethings out there!" And makes little grunting noises at me until I tell her to knock it off. If I ignore her she will bark louder. Gah so I got no sleep and I have to give a presentation in about an hour.

Yes go see the Chihully exhibit -- they have a permanent one of his pieces here in Orlando at the Museum of Art.  I'm originally from near Corning, NY so I've always been fascinated with glass blowing.

But the funny thing is David LOVES his stuff and I'm ... not ... but I think it's because this huge piece in the Orlando Museum looks like something come to life out of "Little Shop of Horrors".  LOL

I think most everyone has seen by now, but if you can keep lifting Truely up (Dawn) -- she should be getting to Chicago around lunchtime.

I decided a card was a good idea, so I'll pick on up today.

My awesome co-worker is back.  :D

I also picked up some stinky wet kitty food to entice the hurt stray.  I hate to see her walk.  She'll use the broken limb anyway.

Wow!  Great news!  Huge jump forward for DH.  I was doing my list of positive things to focus on this morning and HE CAME UP WITH SEVERAL OF HIS OWN!!!  That is so not DH, but whew!!!  Thankfully!  Tis a very heavy load being the only positive one in the family.  He just eased some of that burden.
