Mindless Tuesday!

Yay for poop in the potty!! I hope the dr.'s appt is also good news.

I hope Dawn is doing okay and knows how much we care about her.

I had to drop off my car this morning for 20K service. They're also replacing the gas pedal, so there goes my excuse for ramming the car in front of me. Hmm They gave me a Lexus SUV as the loaner and it is mighty sweet. They're checking another problem I mentioned and said if they have to fix it, I may have to keep the loaner for a couple days - whee :)

WOW!  On another positive note, DFS called today for the phone interview.  That was quick.  Sending us some paperwork to fill out (why did I spend an hour and a half doing it online???) and said we'll for sure get food assistance, not likely more, but, anything will help at this point.

That's great news Glenda and a pleasant surprise that they responded so quickly.

Today is "May the 4th be with you" lol.  I said that to Derek this morning, and he really didn't look amused.

hehehehe I just called my FH and told him that, he giggled, a lot and is now going to tell his office the joke!

Paige - I disagree about your comment in yesterday's chatter! Moving across the country for love/man/girl/whatever can be a giant adventure. I moved across the country with FH after we'd only been dating for 6 months - I just took a giant bag of clothes and went with the "what the hell, might as well give it a go" attitude and it worked out! I mean, if it hadn't worked out, I would only have to fly home, no big deal. Plus, I wouldn't sit there and wonder "what if".

I could be Amanda's assistant too.....if for no other reason than getting to hang out with her crew LOL! Plus....I am kinda kickass. Perhaps she will hire all of us - me, Meg, Glenda, and Lauren!

I have to go read what happened with Dawn and her mom, but I'm sending some good vibes her way in the meantime.

Is a banana and a kit kat a sufficient lunch? I think I have to not hit snooze tomorrow.

This weekend is FH's family reunion - wish me luck! LOL. I asked last year if we could bring the dogs, I was told, sure, no problem. We called his uncle last night that is organizing it and he informed us that, oh by the way.....there are no dogs allowed. WTH? It's a camp, that we've rented the entire thing out and for all that money, I can't bring my dog. UGH. It's annoying, but not a HUGE problem since we live 25 minutes away. We will just have to whip home in the middle of the afternoon sometime to let the dogs out and take them for a walk/bike.

*******Sending all my safe travel angels to Dawn****** There's going to be rough moments ahead once she gets there, at least let her trip be safe and uneventful.

Wow!  Great news!  Huge jump forward for DH.  I was doing my list of positive things to focus on this morning and HE CAME UP WITH SEVERAL OF HIS OWN!!!  That is so not DH, but whew!!!  Thankfully!  Tis a very heavy load being the only positive one in the family.  He just eased some of that burden.

WOOOOOOOO FREAKIN HOOOOO!!!!  Hey, that's a big deal.  Even better seeing your other post that you already got the phone interview!!!!  Let that stuff help take the edge off so you can use your money for gas or whatever else - they probably help with that, too.  YAAAY!!  POSITIVE STUFF HAPPENING!!!!!!!

OK, I'm stealing that... That's funny to me!  :D

Tina, I ****LOVE**** glass artwork, so Chihuly is an all-time favorite of mine.  Meg - do they still have that artist retreat place in NSB?  We went there on a field trip once, and there was this fantastic glass art display there, but I don't recall if it was Chihuly or not.  HOWEVER, William Wegman (the guy who takes pics of his Weimaraners) had stayed there for a while.  There's no place else in the world with the kind of light + wildlife+ocean scenery than that part of FL, I think.

Meg, you sure you want to leave that for just a temporary job? :)

Way to go, Riley!!!!  I gotta say, potty training has been the one thing I've been thinking would be the biggest challenge to me if I'm ever a mom.  I have plenty of patience, but there's something about toddlers who are in the middle of learning how to express themselves, where anger is the easiest emotion to express, and that there's the emotional "thing" tied up in going from diapers to potty.  May the FOURTH be with you!!!  ;0 )

I'm clearly in a happy mood and I have no "real" reason to be.  I got my Chem homework done last night, so that means I'm free-n-clear for most of today.  Maintenance is supposed to come over (I think today?) and turn the sprinklers back on, so I feel ok with telling whomever wants to waste my day by me waiting by the phone for an interview that, sorry, I am busy today and interviews will have to wait until tomorrow.  I am determined not to waste this gorgeous day sitting inside doing inside stuff.  I did that yesterday.  Only chore I have to get done is going to the post office to mail some packages.  Packing winter stuff away resulted in a discovery of something that should have been shipped out a while ago. Jeez.... I swear, maybe I need ADD therapy.

OK, anyway, off to enjoy SUUUNNNNNNNNSHINE!!!!!!  Good thoughts for everyone who needs them - especially kiddos and doctor appts.  Plus an extra sprinkle of good energy to Glenda!!  Cuz she deserves it.

Are you talking about the Atlantic Center for the Arts? North of town off of US-1? I think that's where you're talking about and it's on our short list of wedding ceremony sites :) if we decide to stay in town.

Stressful morning here today at work.  Ugh.  I'm really wishing I had some beer here....oh, wait, actually, I think we have some vodka!  Drinks

I just read about Dawn.  Gonna go post in that thread in a sec.   Poor thing, I have her in my thoughts for sure.

I fly out Thursday afternoon for NC for Mother's Day!  Friday my future SIL and I are going to pick up my grandmother from her house.  Friday's also her birthday...she'll be 92!!  I love her, she is such a cool lady.  We're planning to take her out for a nice lunch, then we'll head back my folks' house.

Sunday future SIL and I are doing a brunch for both her family and mine, including the men.  Then the guys have to hit the road, because we're having a special wine tasting party, just for the ladies.  It should be really fun.  This organization takes a portion (or maybe all?  not sure, SIL set it up) of the $ you pay for the party and donates it to help homeless charities.  So, yay, wine for a good cause!!  Then after that, the dreaded shopping for my bridesmaid dress.  Not really looking forward to that part, but maybe it won't be so bad if I get a good enough wine buzz going. Stick out tongue

ouch, I feel like I've been hit with the 2x4.

I went skating today, for the first time in... well, a long time. How quickly we lose those muscles! OUCH.

On the bright side, I was offered my old job back - sorta. One a sub basis, but it'll be nice to be back out on the ice with the kids! even if it's only every now and then :)

off to go soak myself in some ice....

I just remembered what I wanted to say!

Has anyone tried the Reebok Runtones? I need a new pair of running shoes, and if those things make my rear end look anything like the ones in the ads I've seen, I'm sold.

Cathy just for you........... so the other night Bugsy was out helping me water the plants.  He disappeared for quite some time.  When I got to the back of the house he had dragged a bunch of cardboard boxes out of the recycling,  the Triscuit box was clearly missing some bits.  A few minutes later he gacked up some cardboard and yesterday on poop patrol I was able to read the nutritional information for Triscuits.  Marvelous.

Meg those shoes look cool - haven't tried them though

I need to get up and get dressed in something nicer in a bit. I'm video taping with one of the kids today, so I think I should wear something a bit nicer, given the audience that will be watching me on tape. It's sorta inconvenient though because I will have to change later to take Luke to his agility class.

I so totally should have signed up for my oral exam on Monday instead of on Friday. This means the whole week thinking about this thing, when I could have been done by 4pm yesterday.

ROFL!! Sassy almost never gacks anything up, but her poop sure did look a lighter shade of brown this weekend.

I decided I was going to at least stay in this tshirt, because it is my Star Wars shirt from the Franklin Institute, and it is May the 4th after all.

He always gacks up cardboard - it is about the only thing he does 'gack'.  What made me laugh so hard was that he hasn't eaten cardboard in who knows how long and then I posted last week in response to Sassy's habit, and he eats cardboard.  Clearly he goes online and read it LOL
