Agreed.  Maybe a little "pretty in pink" polish?

Corky is not going for any visits.  She is a special needs girl and her mommy is VERY protective!  LOL!  Sorry ya'll.  You'll have to get your very OWN ducks!  Plus they say that humans shouldn't even touch a young hatching, since ducks imprint on humans with very little encouragement.  So, Corky is VERY imprinted on us, and the dogs.  She'd miss us too much.

Cathy, that really sucks that you're still having rib pains.  Have you been coughing (even before the pain started)?  My sister sublocated a rib from coughing and sneezing too hard.  Hmm, other causes of rib pain - when I rake, I get an ache down one side?  I dunno, but why not call the doctor and ask?

Hope the other sickies feel a little better as each hour passes.

Awww, it's so fun to enjoy the wedding details vicariously (ie, without having to pay the prices! lol)

Riley, your grandma has started your shoe fetish, hasn't she?  It's an addiction that many women are afflicted with.  The only cure is more shoes, beware.

I guess all that steak on Sunday helped me - lost 2lbs! hooray!

We're planning on May or June of next year for the wedding. Basically, whatever is available at both the Hemingway House and the house we decide to rent to stay in.

Aha -- didn't know we'd gotten to the dress and reservations part of this!! Whoo hoo!!!

I am ... alive.  That's at least optimistic!! LOL

Whatever the heck I got into it was TOXIC.  I have the worst toxic headache I've had in a long time.  But at least the insides have toned down a bit and I was able to go to work today.

David had it too so apparently was food-poisoning.  But whatever little buggie it was gave me a nasty fever and an even nastier disposition!!

Poor Tink -- between Mom coming home in the middle of the day and only wanting to SLEEP (sheesh Mom -- WHY??) and then Dad coming home and a little pug having to "take care of HIM" by sleeping behind his knees -- it's been hard on a poor liddle pug!!

I don't know what the magical connection is between the back of David's knees and a sleeping dog -- but it is apparently better than any calming agent the world has ever known!!

....so I need my iDog friends to have a bachellorette party! Whoo!

Now that would be a FUN party!!

I think the baby blues are kicking in a bit late. I've been so up and down lately. I'm sure part of it is due to lack of sleep.

    Agree!!

Jan, can you call in reinforcements and take a break from the kiddos for half a day?  You need a litlle teeny bit of time for yourself.  I'd come and babysit if you weren't so darn far away. :)

I'm reading Karen Pryor's "Reaching the Animal Mind".  I've read Lads Before the Wind and of course, Don't Shoot the Dog.  I'm only ten pages in and I already love, love, love this book. :)

Oh Meg that dress is SO PRETTY!  It would be awesome if iDog peeps came to your wedding.

Stacey I liked that Kennedy dress and the one from David's Bridal that you liked.

I had dresses picked out, for me and the bridesmaids, but everything's on hold right now since we're having divorce issues and won't get the date we originally wanted.

    Hope everyone starts feeling better.

I called the IRS yesterday.  Apparently my file was never received.  Great.  This means I have to talk to a certain POS and figure out a time to go back to Jackson Hewitt and get it reprinted.  This time I am mailing it myself, certified.  His state stuff must have been received b/c yesterday something came in the mail addressed to him from them, and that is the only way is name would be connected with my address.  And of course he's being a complete jerk about it.  I told him what happened and gave a day to go do it.  He said that day doesn't work but now that I've asked him what day does, he's not answering.  I'm seriously not sure how I'm going to be able to see him and not punch him in the face, or kick him somewhere more sensitive.  GGGRRRRR! And on top of it, he's going around spouting off about how he's never heard of such a thing happening, and so on.  Basically implying that this is something I've somehow manipulated.  Yea, right, b/c I care about him that much!  I want my $ just as much as he does, this in no way is helpful to me.  I also haven't heard back from the lawyer yet to find out if that rumor that he was served is true.  I hope so, b/c this needs to be getting finished soon.

Hmmm, seems I've gotten sort of grumpy this afternoon.....oops.

    I can haz nap?

Oh yea, Deb, I forgot, I wanted to tell you that the Hippo you sent has become a favorite toy @ the house.  Dusty doesn't really play with it, but what she likes to do is chase Co-Co for it when I throw it.  She just stands there and waits for Co-Co to run so that she can chase her, then waits for me to throw it again.  And I love the little collar bling.  She's up to 19.2lbs, we're making progress :)

I'd be happy to babysit Willa, Sonja and Rupert too. Darn the distance.

Paige - I haven't had any coughing, even when I had my cold. Could've happened with a sneeze but seems like I'd have felt it happen. If it's not better by Thurs., I'll call the dr.

I was following for over a week now a Gypsy mare named Lilly due any day to give birth. The farm is in Kentucky and the owners have been amazing with their live cam. Well, Lilly went into labor early this morning and the placenta separated from the colt early on (vet said with the 1st contraction probably) and the colt didn't make it. Wow, what a sad thing to start off the day. :(

Aww, Steph, that SOOOO blows.  If you did it at Jackson Hewitt, can't they track anything on it?  Just so sucky.  Really ridiculous that there's still a question if he's been served yet... geez, you'd like to get on with your life!!!  Hugs - passing a brownie for you.

Apparently, my oldest sister is engaged - at Easter they asked my step-dad's "permission", even though her BF has been calling her his fiancee in FB comments since October.  However my sister hasn't called me or our other sister (whom I live with.)  They set a date the weekend after Labor Day, so, um, it would be nice to know if we're invited so we can arrange travel.  Stupid.

    :::between bites of brownie::::

They can't track anything b/c they just did it through regular mail, not certified or anything.  I think he maybe equally pissed off at this point, and if nothing else that lifts my spirits Devil He never answered me about what time worked for him and in the mean time something came up tomorrow and that was the only other free day I had, so I told him it has to be Thursday and that I would leave the check with Bobbi and he could get it when he went to resign everything.  (Bobbi, is my step-mom and the person @ JH who did the taxes).  Of course he said no to that, I knew he would, so I told him if he wants the check then he can meet me there.  Then he started going off about the fact that if MD state got there paperwork than the federal IRS did too.  I'm sick of his crap so I just told him to call them for himself and that he could get the number from IRS.gov.  His response was that I needed to give him the number bc so far it seems like I'm lying and the burden (which he spelled horrendously wrong) of proof was on me.  Um, no, not really, and its a public number, I'm not his phone book.  Thursday should be interesting.  Hopefully the lawyer will call me before then and if he hasn't been served I can try to arrange for the processor to meet us as well.

Ok, well enough gripping for one day....  FH put our air conditioners in last night, we no longer have to sit in hot rooms.  YAY!!!  We should go to the store tonight b/c we are out of cereal, so far it doesn't look like that is happening.

ETA: Well, the good news is that the file showed up @ the IRS today.  That of course means that he is going on now that I was lying all along and just now got caught.  Whatever, he can say/believe whatever he wants to, I'm just glad its been taken care of now.

Somebody gave me whatever is going around idog.... I've puked more in the past few hours than I have in a lot of years. Or maybe it was the hospital cafeteria food for lunch. Ugggghhhhh.....

maybe brownies would help? that sounds good...

I hate hate hate bugs too so I leave them all for DH. Sammy won't get them for me. :(

    Pretty dress Meg!

Sorry about the tax issues, Steph. That blows. At least you figured it out before April 15th, right?

    Happy belated anniversary, Amanda

Good news for you and Charles, Jackie --- so glad to hear things are still improving :) Yay for oatmeal and pizza!

That's all i can remember at this point..... I do need to get some things done that my bout of illness has been intefering with. Please send "anti-vomit" thoughts this way, there's very little worse than that in terms of being sick.

If you're thinking about brownies, you're doing a lot better than I would be. Ugh!

I suspect she's taking her revenge - doing what she does naturally trying to rid herself of us parasitic humans.  We are so awful to her.

Thanks, I've kept dinner down for an hour and a half, so certainly I ought to celebrate with brownies! :)

    man ALWAYS.

My ex left me with a mega problem with the irs -- I discovered after he was gone that out of the 10 years we'd been married he'd only FILED twice -- and both of those were times *I* took the forms and mailed them because he brought them to work and it was "easy" to have the kids in the mail room do the certified slips and I'd pay for it.

The rest of the years?  I signed the taxes -- and he .... threw them away!!  He was bullemic -- and his "purge" was never to vomit or abuse laxatives - - his "purge" was to throw stuff away.

Let's just say the IRS decided I owed them something like $15,000.  *sigh*  When I said 'But my ex ... THEY SAID "you were married - that means we can go after EITHER of you -- and he's indigent *now* so YOU have to pay".

I told them he was crazy (literally getting SSI for emotional reasons) and they told me I'd have to sue him for it.

I told them I wante dno contact with him because I was afraid of him -- didn't matter.  We paid it.

ALWAYS send your taxes in certified mail/rrr -- it's worth it for the peace of mind.

Steph, that stinks!  I'm so sorry!

I'm really hating on the IRS right now because I had to write two huge checks (Fed & State) this week to pay the business taxes.  It sickened me to cut those checks.  And when I say huge, I mean high 5-digit figures total between the two.
