Mindless Thursday, my turn to start :)

Mindless Thursday, my turn to start :)

Yeah, this flood is starting to get gross now.  There is all sorts of gasoline, oil and sewage floating around.  It's nasty.  They say the water is OK but I'm not drinking it or cooking with it and I'm not giving it to Willow or any of the animals.  Look at my FB page, we have Canada geese swimming down a major interstate, LOL!  The mall 10 minutes away from our house has 4-5 feet of water in it.  The cars that got left in the parking lot are submerged.  I drove over a bridge today and the water was right next to me.  You can usually see it if you look DOWN!  I'm not sure how long some of the bridges are even going to be there for.  They are eroding already.  It's like rapids the way the water is flowing.

Luckily though, we are all fine.  How is Agnes?  Charles?  Glenda's MIL, etc. etc???

Ew, definitely boil the water before drinking.

I'm up LATE! I just can't get to sleep, have had weird nightmares lately. All about crashing my car =/ Good to hear you're well. I'm also interested in how everyone is doing. Jackie, how is your husband? Still in my prayers!

I've got nothing major to do today, luckily. I've got a head cold, ugh. Spring cleaning and lovin' it, though. House is really shaping up.

So sorry to hear about the flooding, I wouldn't drink it either!

I've had a head cold for almost a week that got pretty bad and I haven't been on to post much because of that.  I finally went to the doctor yesterday and got some meds so its back to work today.

I hope everyone has a great day, its going to get to 82 today, very unusual weather this year!!

I think the sun may show itself today. Really sorry to hear about the flooding. Though we got a ton of rain, we were spared the flooding where I am located. My Mom is down in MA, and she's dealing with road closures and the like.

I finally came to a decision today regarding work. While the decision doesn't really make me feel happy (or upset), it does feel like the right decision. At least for the time being, I'm going to stay with my current employer.

Now I'm just wondering if it's best to just email the woman I'm supposed to meet with at 4 today regarding the job, or keep my appointment and tell them in person. They haven't actually offered it to me officially, but why else ask someone to meet with them, after you've called their references...I don't want to waste her time, so I'm not really positive what the etiquette here would be. I've never actually turned down a job before!

Lori, I was watching the news yesterday and I could not believe how bad the flooding is there.  Please, please be careful.  They showed a man carrying his dog (not a tiny one) across his flooded yard to a relatively dry area for a walk.

Charles is doing well.  He is getting stronger every day.  He had PT yesterday (going three times a week) and he really likes the people at this place.  He sees the colon doc on Monday and the neuro doc the following week.  I still can't believe how incredibly lucky he was and every day I look at him and marvel. :)   His brother's visit helped him emotionally.  Charles hasn't wanted to go out in public. His brother being the steamrolling, outgoing guy that he is, took over the minute he arrived. lol   They went out to lunch after PT on Monday and the next day we all met for lunch.  It helped Charles tremendously to see that no one paid any attention to the brain surgery incision and of course the colostomy is completely hidden under his clothing.  Men are better at things like this because his brother just said "lets go". :)

Agnes was up every hour or so last night.  At one point she was panting and her ear flaps were extremely hot (normally they are cool to cold due to the circulation problem).  She's coughing, not the croup-y kind, just low and frequent. She's mostly trying to get up to make it outside to pee, but not having much luck.  Another trip to the vet is in order.

I am glad to read the update about Charles.  Jackie, tell him it's not so weird to go out with an incision mark and if he doesn't believe you, show him the People of Walmart or the Disney site Erica posted the other day - he will feel much better!

Oh Agnes....you really need to start feeling better.

Lori, MIL was moved from Hospice to  skilled nursing yesterday.  DH is going to come home in the next few days, thankfully, and DS is planning to stay for awhile with a friend in Portland so that someone is close by for her, but also, he really likes this guy and wants some time to just be himself.  He's finally coming out of the doldrums about his marriage ending, starting to see HER for what she is, and feeling better about himself.

Now all we need is jobs, or maybe Powerball winnings!

Awwww  . . .  so sorry to hear that Queen Agnes had a bad night.  Feel better sweet little brown dog.

     Feel better, Agnes!

Jackie, it sounds like Charles' brother was good "medicine." Wink I agree - show him "People of Walmart" and then he won't feel quite so self-conscious about his appearance! I'm so, so glad he's feeling better.

Sharon, I wouldn't definitively turn down the offer yet. Wait until you hear what they have to say. Maybe you won't get the job, or maybe they'll offer you more than you'd expected, and that will change your mind. Never close doors on opportunities when you don't yet have to!

Oh Agnes - feel better darlin!!

Lori -- flooding like that is nasty -- and the mold and ick that comes afterward isn't fun either.  Stay safe you guys!!

Poor Agnes.  I hope that the vet has some ideas on how to get the cough under control.

I am trying to decide what to do with my long weekend.  I see a lot of napping in my future.

That sounds like good advice. :)

Tina, sorry Agnes had such a bad night.  (((hugs)))

Hey Cita, I already pulled myself out of the running for the job. It feels like the right decision. If the position had been in anything about but financial investment, I would have jumped at it. That said a lot to me. This will allow me more time to find something I don't have any conflicting thoughts about :)

It's 10am and I'm seriously contemplating eating my lunch now. My stomach just grumbled loudly and I'm surprised my office mates didn't hear it!

I hear ya', Sharon.  I interviewed for a similar position once, but knew it was beyond wrong for me.  I am totally lost when it comes to that kind of thing.  I knew I'd hate it because I'd be totally clueless all the time.

I just requested my birthday off work.  I didn't specify that it's my birthday, but since it's on a Monday, I'll have a nice 3-day weekend.  Now to make plans!

Thanks for all the good wishes for Agnes.  Today is her 7 month anniversary with me, which is about 6 1/2 months more than I thought we'd see.
