MIL was disappointed that I didn't come because she wanted to see me to make ammends....said she hadn't always been as nice to me as she should have been.  Wow.  DH told her what I'm doing here and she was "yep, that's Glenda.  She can do anything".  LOL.  If only she knew just how "fish out of water" I'm feeling right now!

Honestlyl glenda that's really wonderful that her thots are positive and she's 'clear' -- and having someone think you "can do anything" doesn't mean you don't have to figure it out or pur effort into it -- it means she think's you're smart, capable, and a person with enough "stick to it" mentality to follow thru AND finish even when it's tough.

That's one pretty darned nice thing to hear (particularly said to your husband!)

Sleep well lady -- that's a lot less stress knowing they are there safe and were "in time"

Glenda, I agree...she was sending you a nice big hug.  How sweet!

BF and a friend went to a plant wholesaler this afternoon to buy the rest of the bushes we need to finish up the beds in the back yard.  We had a section of full sun that we needed about 3 plants for, but didn't know what to get.  I deferred to our friend, since he's a certified plant expert.  He ended up getting us some black knight butterfly bushes.  I looked them up and they are sooo pretty!!  I bet all the bees, butterflies, and birds they're going to attract will drive Sammy completely batty, lol.

I had to fence off all my flowering plants because Rex will hunt down any flying insect and kill it. Sad  He also scared away all the hummingbirds.  The plants got mangled too. Now the insects and birds can enjoy the flowers and we can enjoy watching them.

Something I read said they attract hummingbirds, too.  I hope so, because the feeder I had never attracted a single one.  I ended up taking it down and putting up a wind chime instead.

Poor Sammy, he tries like crazy to catch birds and squirrels, but he just doesn't have the skills to actually capture them.  The only things he's been able to catch are turtles, lol.

My home computer got back from the repair shop.  Yayyayyyyyy!  I've missed some things.  So good vibes for everyone in need of them.

I'm hoping to get some pretty plants this weekend.  The yard appears to have been somewhat neglected.

Yay, fun!  BTW, there is NO WAY your yard can look worse than mine, lol. Wink

BF's mom is coming to visit next weekend.  She's bringing her Westie.  I asked BF if he told her that her dog will arrive white, but leave orange.  He failed to mention this to her....

I am absolutely still feeling warm from that "hug".  MIL and I are both strong women, somewhat hard headed (who ME?????) and sometimes she's cranky, but sometimes she's cranky to EVERYONE.  No biggie to me.  It worries me a bit that she wants to "make ammends" because clearly she feels that her time is drawing to a close.  But, then we know where she is, and what her situation is, so I guess it isn't awful that she's accepted it.

Boy, I absolutely busted my fanny today at work.  But I'm actually AHEAD, which is pretty cool.  Dinner is in the oven and I DID eat lunch today, and even took some fruit into the station to have on hand.

Oh....can anyone tell me how SVU ended last nite??  Was a really good one and I fell asleep before the end. Huh?

Yep.  Her sister was the one who was beating her, but the rapist was the guy that drove the *special* bus.  Turns out he had raped a number of severely physically and/or mentally handicapped women, including a 15 year old girl. The victim was able to point him out at the trial, he went to jail, and the woman's nephew decided to move in with his aunt and take care of her.

I'm so glad I resisted the urge to uncover the yard furniture and put the cushions out when it was 70 a few days ago, because now it's raining and they say we're supposed to have three days of it next week.

Thank you Joyce!  I was really ticked at myself for falling asleep.  Forget how whipped I was.

Gotta say, these idog prayers are pretty danged powerful.  The doctor at Hospice is not sure she even belongs there!!  She was, according to him, 150% better today than yesterday.  Much of that I'm sure is her "company".  DS just sparkles around the elderly and draws them right out.  One day at a time......

Oh yeah, it really, REALLY sucks!

I really want to strangle Brinxx right now.  She chewed Cher's collar off of her neck, & then destroyed it while I was cleaning the kitchen.  I save the dog's first collars as a memento.  That was Cher's first collar, so I'm even more annoyed about Brinxx eating it.

Jackie, yep sunny went to her new foster home today. Sunshine would have bit the girl when she first came in the house had she not had a stuffy in her mouth. After a few mins though she settled down and when the new foster mom put a leash on sunshine, she perked right up like "oh, are you taking me somewhere?! Let's go!" She walked right out the door and hopped up into the truck, happy as a clam. I will email tomorrow and check up on her.

Right now I'm bunked down in the lower level of the lodge snuggled up with neiko while abbie and lily are contently chewing bones. The dogs already had some play time while we had a fire. So relaxing! :)

We're adopting/fostering (depending how the she reacts to the herd of hooligans/they react to her) a toy poodle from work next week, assuming she's cootie free after her second worming. I was told that if it was under 5 lbs it doesn't really count as an additional dog..since I have been patiently awaiting the birth of a litter of Chows for months in hopes there will be one destined for a pet home, I am going to stick with this theory.

If she can't handle my crew, we'll find someone who wants a cute tiny, tiny poodle. She is a bit skittish, but not in a bitey way. And understandable, as she was apparently found running on a freeway.  She has an old broken leg that has set and healed in an awkward manner, so she doesn't use that leg. She has some horrendous teeth.  She was chipped, but upon tracking it down all over creation (it wasn't registered) we learned she was chipped by a breeder..the breeder (who is across country) did search her records, but only had a name..no number, address, or where the buyer had lived.  Being a very common name, we had no luck. (did call several people though)  I've also searched Craigslist in our and the surrounding states going back many weeks, plus looked on petfinder and searched anything I could find, to no avail.

She's got some balding, and not the greatest skin. She's not itchy at all and her skin scrapes are clear, so not too worried. It just makes her look a wee funky. She's pretty darned cute though, rat tail and all
