I would think that wearing a prison jumpsuit while emptying trash and running in to an old nemesis is about as low road as you can get! anything you would have said beyond "hi" probably wouldn't have mattered. heh.

Erin, tell us about the clicker expo!

DH and DS had a very restful night and MIL is very perky this morning.  This may be her last hurahh, or maybe she'll rally.  Apparently people do leave hospice.  Other than to go to the undertaker.

Glenda, so glad they got to see your MIL. I hope that's helping lift some of the stress for you!

FWIW, my great-aunt (98 this year) has been in hospice care twice before. A couple of weeks ago I went to visit her, and she was laughing about how everyone (her included) was convinced she was dying, and then she told me some stories about when she was in college. Then wanted to know all about my graduate school situation.

You really never know! Clearly, her hospice workers didn't get the memo that they were supposed to be "death panels." Wink

But, you know actually, at this hospice, they have told him that sometimes patients DO rally and can move somewhere else.  Obviously, no promises or predictions, but......

I think the reason I slept so soundly last night was because I knew my guys were safe and sound, and that they had some time with MIL.  And yes, knowing that she is perky this morning, is a major stress reliever for me.

If I'm repeating myself, my apologies, but MIL was disappointed that I didn't come because she wanted to see me to make ammends....said she hadn't always been as nice to me as she should have been.  Wow.  DH told her what I'm doing here and she was "yep, that's Glenda.  She can do anything".  LOL.  If only she knew just how "fish out of water" I'm feeling right now!

    Really am leaving now.....

Glenda, that sounds like a long-distance hug if ever I've heard one. I'm so glad to hear that.

Paige - I read yesterday's post about your class. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and did well in it.

Tina - sorry about the neck/shoulder pain. I get that sometimes too and it's no fun. I agree about setting the girls free for today though.

I'm so glad that Bevo is back home and I'm happy to know that it's not just me or DH who will do things like sleep on the couch for our dogs.

Glenda - I'm so glad your men made it and I agree that the comment from MIL sounded like a long distance hug. Nice! :)

I feel at least as crummy today and maybe even worse. I took a mucinex D and we'll see if that helps the stuffy head feeling. The sore throat is my biggest complaint though and I'm quite tired of it. I have a dr's appt this afternoon and altho the appt is to discuss my thyroid levels, I'm going to ask him to take a look at the throat.

Our Board mtg is this afternoon and I'm so hoping is short and sweet but I have a feeling it might run long.

busy day again - had a couple of clients and a ton of phone calls and now have lots to put together, bah humbug

Bugsy is limping again. Sigh. This truly is the never ending recovery.  Certainly feels like he will never be healed.

Was supposed to be sunny but it is overcast, warmish though.

Can you believe next week is APRIL???????????????????

Got estimates back from the accountant on our taxes. I am totally peeved - she was supposed to be better than us doing it and it is about the same.  Just left her a message to call me.  I mean really did she think I was paying her to not save us some $$$$. Basically her expense is just eats into the refund which is mostly eaten by state taxes.

    Not happy

Oh and both doves are happy (and looking as dumb as ever) this morning. No harm done

I'm trying very hard to concentrate at work and it is just not happening. This is going to be a long day!

I am just having a crummy day. None of my deals are going well, stupid banks to deal with and stupid other lawyer's offices. My co-worker won't shut up and is giving me a headache. I'm sitting here super busy, trying to sort stuff out, while she just sits here talking, not doing a damn thing. I finally get my lunch, go out to grab my car (it was at the dealer's being fixed), come back to check my emails and stuff while eating my sandwich, and said co-worker decides she must leave right then to go get her lunch - WTF? I don't want to answer phones and crap when I'm on my lunch, that's why it's MY lunch break. She comes back. eats her lunch, plays yahtzee for a bit, and is now leaving again to go and get some groceries - I'm sorry I missed the memo where lunch times were optional in length and time. As far as I knew, my lunch is 12-1 and hers is 1-2.

Oh and FH's car looks like it's finally had it - so we are off car shopping this weekend. It's not like we exactly have extra money for this right now, but whatever, cars are something that can't be avoided living in the middle of nowhere. I have not the slightest clue what kind of car we are getting or want, but oh well.

    Yuck Yuck Yuck.

Bugsy! I hope your leg is better soon. You are too cute for this.

Oh and my last bit of bad news, the other lawyer in the building, he has a dog that comes to work every day, Jenny, a Kerry Blue Terrier - she might have to be put down and she's only 2 or 3. :( She is the sweetest little dog. All I know about the situation is that she has some sort of auto immune thing. I'm told she's been to numerous vets and has been sick pretty much since they got her.

Stacey, I hope that your day improves.

    Bugsy, stop the limping!!!!

I wore a new pair of shoes today, & now I have blisters.  Four of them to be exact.  I had a SFB moment this morning, & forgot to bring a spare pair along just in case there was an issue.  I am seriously considering putting my tracking boots on for the rest of the day.  They won't exactly go with my outfit, but they are comfy.

My sister and her kids are coming for a visit this weekend. We're having a little birthday party for Willa on Saturday. Oh, and yes, they're sick. They all got runny noses a couple of days ago. Indifferent

On a very sad note, one of our friends/DH's coworker called this morning. His baby passed away last night. He was only a few days old. It's long story, but basically they knew he had issues before he was born. Some of his intestines formed outside of his body. The had a ton of testing and ultrasounds done, and talked about termination. But then they had another ultrasound, and they were told that the bladder had gone back inside. They still knew that he was going to have to have surgery immediately after birth to fix the intestines. But they showed them on the ultrasound that it was a boy. (This was all at a local hospital.)

Her water broke 6 weeks early, and she was flown to a hospital in a larger city. When he was born, there were no boy parts. And certain parts of the intestines weren't formed, there weren't muscles and nerves in that area, and his bladder was in a couple pieces. It was very sad, especially because the said that the rest of him (brain, etc.) was normal and healthy. The doctors there were upset that the local hospital told them that everything was ok except for the stomach part. They said that the pregnancy should have been terminated, because even if the baby survived, it would have a very hard life with many surgeries, and he would always have a colostomy bag and bladder stoma.

Aww, Janice, that's so incredibly sad.  Thoughts and prayers for comfort for your friend.

Is there any way you can tell sis to stay home?  Sonja is only a couple weeks old, doesn't need the sniffles.

    • Gold Top Dog

     That's terrible. So sad :(

I keep popping in but never have time to post.  Trying to get caught up but I have zero motivation.  The weather is beautiful.  We had a big storm last night but I slept thru the whole thing.  I can't wait for the weekend.  Last weekend I was going to catch up on napping but that never happened.  Maybe this weekend.  My BIL and his wife are due in sometime.  They were so vague on their plans and where they might stop along the way (driving from Vermont) that I have no idea when to expect them.

Tina, my neck is killing me today.  I don't have enough boobage to be the culprit.  Must be all the invoices and payments I've been entering in the computer.  I hope you didn't hurt anyone today with your Control Unleashed plan.  Wink  I would love to be the person talking to the WC adjustor on that claim.

Julie, I am so jealous about your hunting camp trip.  Take pictures!!!!  Have fun.:)  Did Sunny go to her new foster home today?

Deb and Amanda, give your boys some kisses from me.

Stacey, sorry you're having such a crummy day.

Lauren, have a good time this weekend.

Jan, so sad about your friend's baby.  That just breaks my heart.  I know it must really be hitting you hard.

Cathy, I hope you start feeling better.

Ok, I know I've forgotten someone and probably ten people have posted since I started this thing 20 minutes ago. lol

Glenda.  thinking of you and your family.  (((Hugs)))

Jan - I'm so very sorry about your friend and the loss of their baby. I can't begin to imagine the heartbreak they must feel.

Tina and Jackie - I highly recommend those thermacare wraps for the neck. I've stocked up on them and even keep one here at the office. They really do work.

My throat is killing me but at least my Board mtg is over. One of the Board members has a cold too and asked that we move quickly on the items Yes
