Finally, some good news.  My son got his security deposit back from the last landlord he had.  It's a long story, but to sum it up, he got into a joint tenancy lease with a crazy roommate who broke the lease.  The landlord allowed her to, then wanted my son to pony up the full rent, which technically he should have.  BUT, since the landlord illegally rented it to them as a 2 bedroom, that was son's out, so the letter from my attorney friend got him out of the lease without costing more money.  Walk-through and return of deposit was supposed to occur on 2-28-10, but landlord never showed.  I helped son write one last letter on Wednesday and today he has a check!

I had my son write 500 sentences as payback - "I will never ever sign a joint tenancy lease again".  Kids - sheesh!

Steph, I just wanted to tell you that finally after almost 9 months my daughter's divorce got signed yesterday!!!!  Woohoo!!!! She called as soon as she got away from the Judge.  She said when the Judge said, "Divorce granted" Tears welled up in her eyes....I told her did she explain they were happy tears and she said No I said Thank You Sir and got out of there as fast as I could before someone changed their mind, lol!  I know you have been having quite the battle too so this is to assure you......it does happen!!!!

Yay!  There is light at the end of the tunnel.  I'm very happy for your daughter.

I actually just spoke to my attorney (I had left her a message after lunch, and my tone of voice made it pretty clear that I was unhappy, she had told me to call her back on Monday, and I did and every day since).  She finally called me back.  The paperwork is back from the courts and the process server has it again, so we're back to waiting to hear that he has been served.  Fingers crossed that he can "make contact" this time.  She said if it seems like STBX is avoiding the guy then we can go forward but its more complicated (in my head that = more $$) so they are trying to do it this way.

On a bright note, I just did a little happy dance at lunch.  We've been having some issues with FH's daughter.  She has been having crying fits every night at dinner b/c she has to eat vegetables (the horror!).  It makes no sense, it is things that she used to eat before with no problems and even likes.  But FH said we had a breakthrough at lunch and she told him that she likes vegetables and was eating the corn w/ no problems. YAY!!!! So I told him to tell her I was very proud of her and to give her a hug from me.  He did and told me that she got "really happy" after that.  Who knows if it will last or not, but its at least progress.

Ok, back to work, since there is no interesting wiener talk today :)

Somehow she lost her tags!!! So I guess I gotta make her another one! Good thing I didn't put on her rabies tag yet or else that would've disappeared too. Probably somewhere in the yard.

Check out boomerang tags! They make a 'collar tag' that doesn't hang, it slides onto the collar so it's harder to lose it :) Plus, I just love that company. I forgot to put 'I'm deaf' on Tiki's tag when I ordered it, so I emailed the company, thinking I was screwed, but the owner himself emailed me back by the next morning and said it was no problemo! Now that's service :)

I cooked all the stuff for the pup's food, but I haven't run it through the food processor. Even all congested, I can still smell liver. Gag.

I'd probably have to get the double thick one since Zoey wears my hand braided collars. I made her last tag, so its no prob making another one :)

Wow, I told you guys not to do anything while I wasn't around and none of you listened to me!  lol

I heard about Shiloh from Callie but I missed Sheba going to the bridge.  (((Hugs akyramoto)))  Run free, sweet Sheba.

Ginger, what's wrong with Hot?  I missed why he's going to the Vet.  Hope it's not serious.  I'm glad your hubby is home. :)

Tina, sell that house and move to Texas!!!!  Oh wait, you live in MI where selling a house must be like trying to sell ice at the North Pole.  Rent it and move here.  Sending you a big hug.  I hope Agnes does have a UTI and her incontinence can be helped by clearing it up.  Poor little brown dog.

I got interrupted with a phone call and forgot what else I wanted to say.  Oh wait, Bugs, don't knock over the old folks.  Be cool, big guy!

    Have a good weekend everyone!

Jackie - this is your first full weekend with Charles home, right? Does that mean we won't be hearing much from you? No worries. I completely understand.

I went to TJ Maxx and then Home Goods. No luck on finding any bedding. Cal King stuff is harder to find and some of the spring stuff that's out is a bit too bright for my taste. It was way more crowded than I'd have expected for a Friday but most women around here don't work and the ones that do are probably furloughed today. Blah, I don't like dealing with crowded stores.

Tina - great news about your son and his deposit. I'm sure he knows how lucky he is to have you helping him with this stuff.

Yes, it's the first weekend he's been home for real. lol  I may be popping in because I'm still addicted to this place and I miss you guys.  I plan on doing some errands and taking a few naps and then some more naps. lol   I've been keeping up with all the housework while he was gone and I barely have any to do this weekend.  Maybe we will watch some movies but I'm an antsy type and hate sitting still for too long. It will be so nice to have a normal weekend.  What I won't be doing : VISITING AT ANY SORT OF MEDICAL FACILITY!!  WOOT WOOT!!!!

Whooo hoo!  Glad to hear things are improving.  I've been lurking but not really active this week but am often thinking of you and Charles.

It's been a long week.  The only thing keeping me going with classes and work, is that I'm hopefully graduating in the fall.  Not that it's going to be easy getting a raise in this economy even with a Master's but I can always try to find something else, right?  They seem on the verge of announcing yet another year of pay freezes, there's been rumors for a few months now.  Normally our year is July to June so it won't be official yet though.

Jackie - Hubby's first weekend home + no housework = a wonderful weekend!!!!

It is GORGEOUS out!  I just ran the heck out of the boys, made them come in and rest so I can feed them!!  Harry refuses to settle down, even with threats of no dinner.  He keeps running into the kitchen with his ball and banging the bell to go out and play.  I regret ever teaching him that damn trick, lol.

Our company has another skybox at tomorrow night's Thrashers game.  This time it's for customers & potential customers.  Should be fun, I never get to meet customers since I sit in the office all day, but it also means I have to watch my beer intake while I'm there.  Apparently getting hammered in front of customers is a faux pas.  Boo. Stick out tongue

     I'll take two, please

So glad its Friday! Its also sunny and 60 and tomorrow its supposed to be in the high 60s! Wootwoot! Had another groom zoom session with Toots and it just keeps coming. I was going to take her tomorrow to a self-washing place, but have now decided that shes going to the groomers.

I took off work early, today, because Jewel won't let me sleep. She keeps waking me up INSISTING that she has to pee. No way a dog can pee that much and be ok. *sigh* She has struvite crystals. I'd planned to do bloodwork, today, but didn't get to, because I had to buy food and supplements. It was a beautiful day, so after our 2 hour vet visit (most of which was her refusing to pee, anywhere), we did get to play outside for a while. I can't WAIT for Sunday to be here so I can play with them.

Deb, have fun with the seeing eye puppies!

Karen, I hope that you feel better quickly. There aren't many things as scary as hitting a deer.

    Bugsy, BEHAVE!!!!

I'll happily take either surfer dude!

Bevo had surgery today to remove two tumors today. I stayed for the entire thing. His chest x-ray looked great & his echo was normal. I hate having him echoed, because I am always terrified that his heart isn't going to look right. I was so relieved when he was normal. Surgery went well. We used a new drug combo to knock him out, & it worked great. He went down very smoothly, & came up just as smoothly. He usually goes down & comes up terribly rough, so today was a very welcome surprise.

I was planning on going out tonight, but my boy is still groggy, & I don't want to leave him at home alone. Instead, Bev & I are snuggling on the couch.

    • Gold Top Dog

Amanda, maybe I missed it, but don't recall you mentioning Bevo had tumors to remove.  At any rate, here's hoping they're nothing serious and the grogginess wears off soon.

Agnes had no signs of a UTI.  No crystals, no redness or discharge, nothing abnormal in her bloodwork either.  We cut the Lasix dose by 25% in hopes it will reduce her desire to drink so much water, thereby reducing her need to pee so much.  The other good news is that she has no microfilaria in her blood!!

    • Gold Top Dog

Great news, for the little brown dog aka Agnes!!
