Mindless Thursday!

Glad Jamison seems to be okay! I take Rascal in for stuff like that all the time. On one memorable day, I called up and was describing the issue (a bump on his nether regions) to ask if I should bring him in, and the vet was convinced I was just talking about his... tip. When I finally did bring him in, she said, "Oh, you're right, it is a bump. But it's still nothing - probably a bite or something. He's fine." Embarrassed

Erin, have fun today! Sounds awesome!

Is right now allergy season? Because I'm with Amanda, I feel like I've been run over by a heavy truck full of painful sinuses. And I was looking at my calendar, and apparently I got similarly sick exactly a year ago, which then morphed into a sinus infection. I'm wondering if I should see a doctor pre-emptively? If it is allergies, can they give out anything more helpful than Zyrtec?

Lauren, I'm really sorry to hear they're letting "your" jerk back on the streets. I hope things go well for you. I second the suggestion of borrowing Brutus!

Tina, that's annoying. Why won't your boss say anything to them? Seems like a waste of company money. Maybe you should bust out a bikini, desk fans, and iced tea at your desk to send a little message about the ambient temperature. Wink (That would go over sooooo well, right??)

Jackie, I'm so glad to hear that Charles is home!!!!!!!!! I know the struggle is far from over, but it's a great first step. Just don't forget to take care of yourself, while you're busy running around taking care of him. Mmmmkay?

BF's leaving today for a weekend grad school campus visit. He's super panicky - gets anxiety attacks about travel - but I'm excited for him. I hope he has fun and likes it, but maybe doesn't like it tooooooo much, such that he keeps an open mind about other schools too.

Rascal's being such a little poop. I have a blanket pile on the floor right now, so I can lie down and snuggle and watch TV. So Rascal of course is supposed to come snuggle with me. He's happy to do so, but when I started petting him, he started growling at me. Apparently he's decided that since it's on the floor, it's "his"! So we're having to do a bit of attitude readjustment, and I'm not getting any puppy snuggles. Hmpf. What good is a fluffy little dog if it won't give friendly blanket snuggles when you're sick? I told him that dog food isn't free, so he'd better shape up soon, unless he wants to be buying his own!

I had an interview yesterday that I think went very well and the job itself really interests me and has a lot of room for growth. However, to further make me feel conflicted, today, a trusted coworker (who knows I'm looking around) just told me something that will be announced next week to the team that is actually a big incentive for me to STAY with my current employer. It would mean that they are getting rid of the office, and we can all work from home (which is actually more standard in my industry). I currently commute 45 minutes to work. It would save me a lot of money in gas and wear and tear on my already high mileage vehicle. Plus, Ari wouldn't need to be kenneled all day while we are at work. It's a lot to think about.

ROFL!  Boss won't say anything since he's a bit passive-aggressive. Let's keep the peace.  Whatever. I already told him it may come down to me stripping off my clothes and even though I'm in okay shape for 42, nobody really wants to see that (remembering I live in a college town).

I am not sure if I am in allergy hell or hangover hell, but I feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck this morning.

I'm voting hangover.  How many green sakes did you have?

    I lost count, Tina.

Courtney, I'll bet that Rascal could stand on a street corner with a hat for donations, & collect more than enough money to feed himself!

Work called at 10pm last night, woke me up to tell me one of the ovens exploded! Fortunately no one was hurt and if the shop was closed today it would be anounced on the local radio... NOT! Drove all the way to find police tape around the entrance...  On the up side I got a walk in with DH and the puppers Big Smile DH is recovering from major back surgery and currently the only exercise he can do is walk...

Jackie you will be surprised how fast Charles will recover! I worked half days the first week DH was home (3 days after a full lumbar fusion).

Absolutely beautiful weather here today... thinking a good time to give the puppers their spring clip!

Lauren and Jackie and Charles are in my thoughts today!

Finally a non-busy morning this morning! I do really need to sort through the kids' clothes, their drawers are overflowing and it's time to thin out some of the clothes and toys. It's like a toy shop here!

Although I seriously am lacking motivation for that right now and am enjoying sitting on my duff!  Another nice day out, will have to take the dogs for a walk too. Yay!

Have to enjoy the weather for today because fri, sat, sun are snow, clouds rain, 35*.  When will it ever stop!?

I don't have allergies but my sinuses are affected by the weather changes and right now I am feeling like you two. When the weather gets like this (major swings in temp and pressures), I have to take sinus stuff daily. It sucks!

Oh mai gawd I am over my sinuses. I feel like crud - BF came home stumbling drunk at 3AM and was hogging the bed, so me and Pi made a break for the couch. I am so stuffed up and one of my lymph nodes is like a golf ball - my whole neck hurts! The dogs and I are camping out watching the Today show.

I'm glad Jamison's bump is nothing!

Ugh I need to go get stuff to make dog food. I am still in my PJ's.

Lauren, I'm with your Mom.  The media can be a HUGE help.

Jackie, I'm thrilled for you that Charles is home, but I so get how difficult it is for you.  One day at a time........

Gloomy and damp here yet again.  Blech.

DS has a massive ear infection.  Again.  Would have thot he'd have outgrown the darned things years ago.....but, I'm sure that the stress doesn't help the immune system one bit.....

Since DH is out of town this week, we have our dog walker coming over to let everyone out during the day.  This means that Brutus gets to come to work with me.  Him tagging along isn't a big deal, & he, for the most part, behaves himself.  He does like to growl at people when they come in my office but otherwise, he does fine.  A few minutes ago, my secretary walked in, & he welcomed her with his normal growl.  She loves Boo, & is one of his few buddies, so she thought that it was hilarious.  In an excited voice, she told him "Brutus, if you want hot dogs for lunch, you'd best shut up."  The moment "hot dog" came out of her mouth, he started the kidney bean dance & then broke into zoomies around the office.  He finished his goofy-ness by launching himself into my lap.  My chair tipped over & we both toppled to the floor, & in the process I got a bloody lip.  As if that weren't enough, he decided to 'box' with me while I was trying to get the lip to stop bleeding.  He boob punched me!

Now, he's laying at the door waiting on lunch time.  No doubt, waiting for his hot dog.  I love the days that he feels good enough to be silly!

Ahhhhh Bru  . . .  you and I think alike.  There's really NOTHING like a good "dog" every now and then.  I would be excited too !!!

LOL! That should be my new signature. Too funny.

Previously I have just been taking some generic sinus stuff that a friend of mines picks up from work (at the hospital she works at) for $2 for a big bottle! However, I just went to Walgreens at lunch and am giving Claritan-D another try. I've tried it before and didn't think it did anything. However, the pharmacist dude said it would help. I better not be wasting $13! I'm probably going to leave my friend a voice mail today and have her pick me up a couple more bottles of the generic stuff.

My staff is anxious because they are afraid we will consolidate but..  I have a surprise for them, we just signed contracts for another huge client and the work flow will increase!  I plan on telling them in our staff meeting today that will lift spirits.

I actually felt a little lift in spirits MYSELF by reading that.  It's so nice to hear GOOD news for companies... and nice that there are really good managers who want to see their staff happy.

Have a great time, Erin.  Hope you learn a lot to share with us.

Lauren, I'm really... jeez, I don't know the right word.... not "sad" I'm almost pissed for you that he's getting out after his behavior has escalated (I'm assuming, or else old info was finally released at his hearing in Feb?)  Lately I've been thinking there are a few rare people who should be humanely euthanized for the benefit of everyone else.

Jackie, I understand your fear about leaving Charles alone.  Do you have supportive neighbors who could keep an eye/ear out for you?  We know life has to get back to some resemblance of normal, but it's only been a few dozen hours that you've had him home alone with you, and it's a tremendous responsibility, so I don't blame you for feeling cautious and tentative about it.  Here, let's ramp up the good thoughts for things to be just fine and smooth while you're away from the house and he's alone.  *~*~*~*~*good vibes from CO~*~*~*~*~

I feel generally *pfft* today.  I feel like I'm suspended in a sad jello salad - which is what "feeling fat" feels like.  My coworker just looked at me and said, "You look sad, what's wrong?"  I shook my head to say nothing and then tears came out.  I am clearly hormonal and/or overtired.  Ptuey!  I wish I could view videos here, I'd go watch puppies or something.

Paige, I'm sorry that you're having a bad day.  I hope that it improves for you.
