Tina - yeah I won't go if I cannot locate their office. I'm not desperate for work, just trying to keep my options open and maybe get paid more than I currently do. The office is literally right down the street from where I currently work and it's a business area. So, if it's not there, I'm not going. I've learned to trust my gut. At the worst, this may be small business, where they have no clue what they are doing and how to run it professionally. Small businesses run like that are pretty common from my experience. If that's also the case, then I'm not interested!

Cathy, if you have a chance to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D (and 3D doesn't bother you) do so! It was great. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter was a great fit. Then again, I don't think there's anything he's ever done that I haven't enjoyed lol.

Paige, no steps to get out the back door, Agnes had already navigated the two steps to get into the back room and was standing by the door.  I dunno.  I chalked it up to crazy old lady dog!

Amanda, yeah, the lady is coming from 2 1/2 hours away, so I'm sure she thinks someone closer may snap him up.

Meg, sorry for the migraine.  I quit having migraines when our old office manager quit (true story!).

Cathy, sorry about the ralphing dog.  I'm not sure what's worse - cleaning up vomit or diarrhea.  Ick!

    I'm going to lunch now.

A few weeks ago I had a slew of horrible migraines and I said to DH, "I think I'm allergic to my job!"  Ironically, last week I met one-on-one with my boss and he said we are going to have our air quality tested because several people in our department have been bothered with migraines, allergy-like symptoms, and just overall sickness not related to flu outbreaks.  I told him to add me to the list since my most recent head aches involved a lot of pressure/congestion which is more typical with something in the environment bothering me (as opposed to a headache from staring at a computer screen which is more of a stabbing pain without the overall congestion).  This morning when we came in, it was about 80 degrees and the whole area had this musty smell like pee on the carpet.  I don't mind the higher temp but the air was so stale and musty.  The air handlers kept stopping over the weekend.  I work in the basement of a library, so there are two staircases out (both with two sets of doors) and one elevator, otherwise no windows or any other methods for fresh air when the air handlers quit.  Every time I leave and come back in I smell the musty pee smell again.  Hopefully no potential donors are taking a tour down here this week!!

Our male cat, is getting old and feeling yucky so we switched him back onto wet food and bought a fountain to stimulate his interest in drinking...cats are really poor drinkers.

They love it, lol. It's in their garage/cat room and they sit and stare at it. It's so funny to watch them make the journey back into their room several more times a day than is typical. Cat's are so odd.

Got a great deal on the fountain. Petco had a tag on the shelf for it for like $25 and this was a normally $50 item...but none to be seen. Now I know better (I have a spidey sense when it comes to thing sort of thing so I knew there was at LEAST one left) so I poke around the ENTIRE store and sure enough I find one in the overhead storage still with a tag on it. Apparently the sale was "over yesterday" but you know what? I got my discount anyways because it's THEIR fault they did not remove their signage. LOL.

Boo yah. Love a good bargain. The last time at this same Petco I picked up a Littermaid box for like $42 when it was $179 new...so yeah. I rule.

I bought some buddy biscuits for the dogs too...they love those.

Yahoo (the boy cat) seems sprightlier already with the diet change and water set up so I am sure it was the right thing to do. ONLY a cat would need to find water "interesting" to frickin bother with it. LOL.

I saw Avatar in 3D and loved it, so I'm ready for any and all movies that are in 3D. I'll never get DH to go see it though and even my BFF probably wouldn't go with me. I think I may want to own it anyway, so I'll wait for it to come out on DVD.

I've used my mental 2x4 this morning and feel pretty good about it. I have one teacher who is horrible about sending me decent documentation. I send it back to him with notes for corrections, months go by and then he resends me the same crap again. Gawd!! So, my boss is going to be there today and I filled him in and asked him to talk to the guy. He said he was happy to and since the guy had just asked for a recommendation for grad school, he'd use that as a tool to get him to pay attention to the importance of this issue. Hope it works.

Gina, many years ago, when I was married and had my first cat ever, the ding-a-ling would not drink out of a bowl.  So my then-dh would turn the faucet on a trickle and then the cat went crazy drinking the water.  He, the cat, would wait in the kitchen or bathroom sink for someone to turn it on - every single day for the 16 years of his life.  Weird would be an understatement.

    Great job on the bargain!

Have you seen that commercial for the faucet you can turn on by bumping it, rather than turning a faucet.  I always think of the cats who will drink out of the faucet like you describe above and how they could use a faucet like this.... only they wouldn't have any inclination to turn it off when they're done.

At least when dogs jump up to get the ice from the icemaker from the fridge door, it shuts off when they jump down.

No, never seen the commercial.  That old cat of ours, if he could've turned on a faucet, he would've left it on out of spite, I'm sure, even if he could've turned it off!

This is why I would never toilet train my cat. You know they would NEVER flush and the nastiness of getting ready to go and having to flush after your cat is just too too much for me LOL.

What's really funny is that I have a friend who taught his cat to use the toilet and flush.  Now he has to keep the bathroom door closed because the cat will flush the toilet constantly - he likes the sound of the water running!

I get total heebie jeebies thinking of toilet-trained cats.  I just sat here and did chair-squirming and a few phantom gags at the thought of it.  I don't even like the people who put their cats' litterbox in the bathroom.  Cats trailing filthy used litter on their feet through the area where I step barefoot in order to get mySELF clean?!?!  No thanks and no way.  Gross.

oh, PS, I found Olive Butter lotion by Palmers (same people who make that cocoa butter stuff) and I'm really loving the way my skin feels!  All day, and it isn't like that other natural stuff that slicks off in the next day's shower, which tells me it was just sitting on top of my skin for 20+ hours.  ick.  It smells a little plant-ish, but it's very faint, and the way my skin feels and even looks is sooo nice!

I just got an email saying my Girl Scout cookies are in. Wheeee! They'll be delivered tomorrow. Wheee again!

I'm getting a little stir crazy. I was stuck in the hospital for four days last week, then came home, and haven't left since. I'm not really supposed to do much the first two weeks (ha - I did three loads of laundry the day after I came home), but I think I'll have DH drive me to the store tonight. That should be interesting. I think Willa's going to have to ride in the back of the cart. I wish they made carts with two child seats.

Does anyone know if you can freeze bananas? I've got some that are over-ripe that I want to make banana bread with, but it's so nice out I don't feel like having the oven on for over an hour. It's supposed to get down in the 30s next week (boooo) so that'd be a better time to make it.

I do!  All the time!  I prefer to peel them first though -- once they are frozen, you have to thaw them a little to peel, and it's pretty slimy and icky by that point.  But if you peel first, them you just let them thaw and get mushy in the bag, and squish it into the mixing bowl.  I'm not sure if the peel lets them stay longer or something, but since they're going into bread (all I use frozen bananas for) I don't really bother.

I loves me some good nanner bread.... might just have to make some!

Wow -- blow ME away -- Our anniversary was last week and David told me one of the things he wanted to "get me" was tickets for us to see "The Miracle Worker" on Broadway.  (Abigail Breslin is Helen)

It brought me to tears -- Helen Keller was my hero as a child -- my cousin (a couple of times removed) was Helen's housekeeper after Anne Sullivan passed away and it's just another one of those reasons why Callie has always gravitated to those folks and animals with challenges in their lives.  But David's been SO unbelievably busy at work it just didn't seem like it was gonna happen.

Unfortunately, the production isn't a raging success -- apparently they're trying to give it a chance but it may not be "on" long.  Sooooooo David suggested we simply suck it up and GO. As in ... next week!!

Kind of a mammoth task -- we're not quite your typical city travellers -- because I don't shop, but we could both get lost at the Met Art Museum and probably almost never find our way home.

Billy gets to stay with Pirate, Megan (and Uncle Ethan -- who likes whom better?  the man or the dog?? LOL), and Luna 'n Tink'll go to Miss Emily's (Miss Emily's thinks Luna is THE best protege they've ever had!  It was thru them that we got the line on adopting her.)

Maybe this was the secret to getting David to take time off?  "urgency"???  I'm taking it, I'm taking it!!!

Jan - I've read that freezing bananas is perfectly fine. I believe they turn darn but if you're using them in a recipe or even for a smoothie, it should still taste the same.

As for the shopping carts for 2 little ones, our Safeway has the kind where it's like a little car is attached to the front and Willa would be able to sit in that and you could put Sonja in the basket area.

The cat discussions made me laugh. I don't have a cat now but have for most of my life and they truly are funny critters. I think Sassy would actually do well with one as long as it stayed inside and she couldn't chase it like it was prey. She needs a what-for to bring her down off her throne.

I want to be outside soaking up the sun and I'm pretty sure I could use the Vit D. Maybe I'll eat my lunch outside and hope that the bugs aren't bad.
