Chatting on a Wednesday

I will post tomorrow about a collection for Jackie and I am sure among us we can come up with a great way to spend it in a way that will be beneficial for her.

What about a massage?  I know when I'm stressed I hold all my tension in my shoulders and then it makes my back and neck hurt which just makes everything more difficult.  Since most are like an hour it's not a big time comittment and maybe, just maybe, there'd be a place in or near the hospital vs on the other side of town.

That sounds like a great idea!  Something that having her sister around won't be able to take care of (like food or cleaning) and something a little special and pampering.

I'm in.  I'll even volunteer to help out with any organizing, etc if needed since after my midterm today, I'll *just* be working since spring break is next week.

I think a massage sounds wonderful but many people won't go just anywhere or to anyone. Maybe a general gift certificate to a spa-like place. That way she could get a facial (my fave), a pedicure or whatever.

I was just outside briefly and man, the wind is mighty chilly. The sun is out, so it feels warm in my office. I'm hoping that the rain is done for today. We have more coming in this week but it's nice to get a break between storms.

I'll be happy to chip in on whatever everyone decides to get for Jackie.  Someone just lemme know, ok?

General FYI - pineapple-mango smoothies from Atlanta Bread Company are awe-some. Yes

Heather, I thought of you Monday night.  I had a 3 hour layover in Atlanta!

I'll be happy to help out with with whatever everyone decides to do to help out Jackie, but after going through a very similar situation with my grandmother, I'm going to point out that you may want to ask her about the massage before it's purchased.  Sometimes recoveries from brain surgeries take a while, & Jackie may not be willing or able to take time to go for a massage.  I think that the meals that Deb did was an awesome idea.  Us helping to extend those for a while longer might be a good idea.  Parking passes & cafteria passes for the hospital might be very helpful right now.

ETA:  Where the hell is Amy?  I have had "foot craps" for the past two days, & it's not funny unless she's here to see it!

Awww! Embarrassed  Too bad all you got to see of the city was our airport, lol.

I think the delivered meals is a good idea.  Even after Charles comes home, it would be nice if she doesn't have to worry about cooking.  But I'm totally in for whatever everyone decides to do.  Whoever coordinates it please shoot me a PM with info on where to send $.

Does anyone know what she feeds the puppers?  I'd love to also send a bag or two down to her.

Hmmmmm.  I posted in this thread HOURS ago.  It WAS in my list......

Count me in on the Jackie gifts!  Let me know the $$ amount.

I really hate days when I don't stop running allllll day.

Dear slipper weenie, you needs a martingale. Seriously. Don't do that, again!

Somebody keep us posted on stuff for Jackie. I'd love to help out.

And it's not a fun airport, unfortunately, from a layover standpoint.  Always have some problem with luggage not connecting to the next flight, or ME not connecting to the next flight because of delays.  I think Atlanta is a great city, but that airport blows, from my experiences.

Also, there is NO PLACE for a dog to pee. And if there were, I wouldn't have been able to find it, LMAO. I carried 20 lbs of Emma, plus another bag, from one end of that airport to another, on my shoulder. I  was bruised for a month.

I had the worst layover ever in Atlanta a few years ago..I ended up stuck there for 11 hours, instead of 4.  The last time we had a layover was a better experience, thank heavens.

Those experiences are definitely the bad side of being the world's busiest airport!

The security stuff's gotten better, tho.  BF moved here three months before I did (I was waiting out the end of the lease on my apartment in Raleigh before I could move), so I flew down here every 2-3 weeks during that time.  Once I was headed back to NC on a busy Monday morning, and got "randomly chosen" to be worked over with the metal detecting wand thingie.  The TSA girl doing it bonked me TWICE in the head with the wand!!  But, she was really apologetic about it, lol.

They really need to build another runway to help with the traffic problem, but since the city of Atlanta owns the airport, it is subject to all that stupid government red tape.  And don't even get me started on the police they have directing drop off/pick up traffic. Angry  They just may be the scariest people in the world....

I spent my day in the woods, crawling after feral puppies. My chiro would be SO thrilled.... I think I wont mention that at my follow up on Friday...

That holds true for humans too!  Three of the ladies rooms were "Out of Order."  I thought that I was going to explode!

Heather, I really do like Atlanta, & I do feel like, in some weird way, I owe something to your city.  My ex-fiance was sleeping with a skank from Atlanta.  Had it not been for her, I would have married the POS, & never met my DH.  So, as strange as it seems, a large part of my happiness is due to a skank from Atlanta!

LOL well by with that thought process, there is a certain garden tool in TX I owe quite a bit to.  Including the big laugh I got when I googled her email and found that she had an ad in Craigslist for "cooking services"

Count me in for something for Jackie, whatever is decided.  I can't do much, but I do wanna help.
